pubic hair - a question

what do men like generally. do they care? I have tried most things including a Hollywood last year as a special treat for him... and now am bored and a bit tired of ingrowing hairs. Do men notice what is down there, quantity? whether it is trimmed or not, etc.. Obviously stray pubes outside bikini line not nice, I get that. my dh is very reticent about what he actually likes - I think he is scared of making any comments on my appearance in case I cry or shout! quite right. anyway, I wanted to canvas this one.

Use Imac - works better.

ConfusedandHurting · 20/06/2008 23:34

Don't use imac on eyebrows tho, it burns like fuck lol

Flashman · 20/06/2008 23:40

Oh sex if you both do is a bit like stickle bricks - best to rotate between each other!

olyoly · 21/06/2008 06:00

All the American men I've dated (save the chubakka loving one) have said to go Brazilian. Some will even want to shave it for you. But then, they are pretty trimmed up as well. Smooth balls and all. Really. But the Brits seem much more forgiving about the grooming. Or they don't seem to notice. Am I the only one to notice this?

BouncingTurtle · 21/06/2008 06:20

The reason we have hairy muffs and pits is actually sexual in nature and goes way bake into human biological history - we give off pheromones which are supposed to help you attract a mate - hair traps these pheromones, so it makes it easier to be spotted by a potential mate.
However in recent times, cleanliness and non-smelliness is seen to be more attractive.
Hence why we shave our pits, hairless pits are easier to keep clean and apply deodorant to.

BTW I opt for the get DH's hair trimmers out and trim my pubic area short and neat - hair free look is not for me, and I refuse to wax any part of my body, I don't think the results are worth the pain. Neither do I pluck my eyebrows.

BouncingTurtle · 21/06/2008 06:20

bake = back!

stressedsanta · 26/12/2008 17:37

my mum calls it half an ounce of old holbourn

VirginBoffinMum · 26/12/2008 18:44

On another thread I suggested that feminism was dead if women felt they had to get rid of their ladygarden in order to seem attractive. But people thought I was bonkers.

Personally speaking, I like a bit of carpet on a bloke and chose mine partially on that basis, so he would seem big and manly and not like a girl or a teenage boy.

TinselianAstra · 26/12/2008 18:50

You choose your man based on his mangarden (what's the male equivalent?)?!

How do you know?

VirginBoffinMum · 26/12/2008 19:17

Well you could see hair all over his body, which was what I meant. I do not make them drop their trousers for me to inspect their nether regions. That comes later!

I believe the vernacular equivalent to ladygarden is gentleman vegetables, which is not an exact equation, I must admit.

TrillianAstra · 27/12/2008 18:34

So you deliberately choose hairy men? The sort whose chest hair pokes out of the top of their shirts?

Each to her own, I suppose.

Agree tha hairless fanjos are wrong.

But DP is quite unhairy on top half and still suitably manly on the bottom half...

nappyaddict · 30/12/2008 12:49

I like men to trim their pubic hair but not shave it completely off.

I like a landing strip but sometimes if i am diying it then it goes wrong and the lot comes off.

CaptainPants · 04/02/2009 14:51

I shaved my balls for having the snip and found that getting busy with DW felt better, skin on skin. It looked a bit odd so I started trimming as well. DW likes the fact I take time to look after myself and it makes her feel a little horny knowing that I do.

I like D/W to be trim but not shaved. Who would want hair in their mouth but shaving is going too far for me.

With all these beard trimmers on sale in Boots there must be a market for them but I don't see that many guys with beards!

sayithowitis · 08/02/2009 15:52

Can't believe I'm about to say this , but here goes! Dh trims his hairy bits and trims mine as well. Only trims, mind you. definitely prevents getting hairs in the mouth IYSWIM!

CherryChoc · 14/02/2009 11:30

My DP refuses to do me certain "favours" unless I shave every last hair off, which is near impossible and I refuse to wax and am a bit scared to use immac etc.

Maybe I should get him to go on AIBU and leave him to the mercy of the mn masses? He seems to think his view is the normal view, but then he does spend every last second downloading porn.

I prefer trimmed. (On me.) I had an ex though who shaved everything to make himself look bigger - it didn't work

thisisyesterday · 14/02/2009 11:44

I don't think a man should expect a woman to do anything down there that he isn't up for doing himself.

if dp wanted me to shave/trim/wax/whatever then I might do it. but I would expect him to do the same for me, if I wanted him to. iyswim?

tbqh I can't be arsed with anytrhing more than a quick trim now and then. he doesn't seem to mind

DrillBit · 14/02/2009 23:17

Never been keen on beating a path through a tropical rain forest.

So I do prefer a trimmed hedge.

The good lady does indulge me to the extent of performing said arboreal work with the trusty Philishave. On one such expedition, I shall we sa,y got a little carried away leaving said area akin to a 70's punk Mohican.

EricL · 16/02/2009 12:11

Yup - one of the benefits of marriage i guess is approaching a spreadeagled female with some sharpened metal and a crazed but satisfied look on your face - but not being arrested for it.

Fantastic.

Im sure most of us have ahem 'accidentally' taken too much off just to experiment.

Less is more i think. But you have to have some, more-or-less i think.

MiTochondrialEve · 18/02/2009 20:03

You can gauge all you need about the average mans taste by taking a glance at Viz' profanosaurus

singledadof2medway · 12/05/2009 15:00

right a mans very, as king as its tidy i dont care, i trim as am quitea hairy person and trim ( not shave) underarms as i think i smell unclean with long hairs to trap sweat and feed bacteria making the "unwashed" smell though fresh, clean sweat is ment to be a phereomne.

cockneydadtobe · 12/05/2009 21:15

My bloke thoughts are that neatly trimmed is nice. That's all

boywunder · 27/05/2009 17:19

I like a bit of variety. If its the winter coat, I would like to see a bit of trimming and vice versa. I don't get any input anyway. If dw said she'd do hers if I do mine then, I'd be straight up in the bathroom
