pubic hair - a question

what do men like generally. do they care? I have tried most things including a Hollywood last year as a special treat for him... and now am bored and a bit tired of ingrowing hairs. Do men notice what is down there, quantity? whether it is trimmed or not, etc.. Obviously stray pubes outside bikini line not nice, I get that. my dh is very reticent about what he actually likes - I think he is scared of making any comments on my appearance in case I cry or shout! quite right. anyway, I wanted to canvas this one.

A topiary maze might be a nice challenge.

PerkinWarbeck · 09/04/2008 08:58

DH had just advised that absence of pant moustache (hairs starying outside of knicker coverage) is preferred, but otherwise likes minimal trimming.

not a hollywood/landing strip.

Waxing the bikini line is actually less painful than legs for some reason.

The worst part of it is when the assistant then asks you to put your legs in the air so she can have a look to see if any are growing out near your arse!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes it will.

I'd advise taking a couple of paracetomal just beforehand.

I sweated and squealed like a pig for all the time I was on the couch - but as I said, the bikini line was easier than the legs.

People tell me it gets easier the more you have it done!!

Good luck!

BecauseImWorthIt · 09/04/2008 11:40

It's certainly over quicker than childbirth!

VanillaPumpkin · 09/04/2008 11:46

My DH does seriously NOT notice what ever I do . I just have the edges tidied so that I can wear a swimming costume.
I don't want to look like a porn star or an 8 year old .

EricL · 09/04/2008 13:05

I'm not bothered. As long as the bikini line is done and it doesn't get too much like a hairy growler.

Judy1234 · 09/04/2008 13:18

ND, really really hardly hurts at all (at least on me) but may depend on your waxing lady. Mine is really good. I wouldn't think it was anything like painful enough to take painkillers for but perhaps there's a difference between the first time and keeping it done.

Mousie · 09/04/2008 18:41

good responses thank you - though still interested in hearing from more men. and thanks for tips on avoiding ingrowings - i wonder if some people are just more prone to them.

mousie - are you just perving???

stuffitllama · 09/04/2008 19:29

Mousie I have a response from a eye-rolling man.
It is "medium, not too bushy".

He is crushed with embarrassment at being asked

Twinkie1 · 09/04/2008 19:34

Had sad northern chap once say - OOOOOOhhhhh What a Hairy Mary - to me once - I pulled my pants up and said well I didn't expect to get so pissed that I would end up shagging some sad loser like you - and then hopped off bed and said - no am not pissed enough to shag sad loser like you! Byeeeee!

Hairy Mary - I ask you!

stuffitllama · 09/04/2008 19:39

Oh come on! What is all this nonsense about trimming and waxing and topiary?

What's wrong with a minge like an old fashioned fully sprung bicycle saddle?

Floss while you nosh - that's my motto.

IMO men who are rude enough to ask their DPs to trim and wax are clearly reading too much porn.

It's a disgrace.

Judy1234 · 09/04/2008 20:29

It's culturally normal to be bare there though in some other cultures including Muslim culture I believe.

By the way the hair I think does have an evolutionary point to it because I think it catches germs or something that would otherwise make their way down there I think.

Janos · 09/04/2008 21:54

I think it depends on the chap you're asking tbh.

I've had all sorts of requests!

BTW bikini waxing is not too painful at all. Honestly! I find it much easier than legs

Mumcentreplus · 09/04/2008 22:08

I'm with maida...so long as the pubes are not Trifids..

Janos · 09/04/2008 22:16

Men trimming their pubes..now that is odd. I like men hairy!

Current chap thinks all shaved (ahem) is 'not that great really'. I had one partner who commented that I should shave my pubic hair off as it was disgusting.

But he was a weird bastard

Mousie · 10/04/2008 09:27

lol at perving at ingrowing hairs.. glad there isn't a general concensus on this subject - one that I am clearly the wrong side of ( as with most things)

OP posts:
Swedes · 10/04/2008 10:17

I'd personally find it a bit odd if men wanted their women to resemble 10 year old girls and be entirely pubic hair free.

Bloke: Before we meet on Thursday could you please arrange a landing strip, blonde highlights and a breast enlargement. Oh, and I'm not that keen on brown eyes.

Janos · 10/04/2008 10:30

Ingrowing hairs are ouchy. I do not like!

Agree that men wanting 'bald' is a bit weird and creepy. I don't honestly think it has to do with peadophilia though.
