Oh, here we go again. "Men" are rubbish and "men" always do this and that...

Men are not rubbish.DP has been coping with dds problems much better than me at the moment. He canbe a prat at times but has been particularly gorgeous tonight.I am the one who has been cracking uo and he has been so sweet.Lovely DP.

LordPan · 13/07/2007 00:46

Ahem, I commented nicely about MY dh...

LordPan · 13/07/2007 00:54

yes, REBEL, but I am not being individualistic about raising it at all. I'm sure he is a lovely man, and you deserve each other in a good way.

OP posts:
REBELlatrixlestrange · 13/07/2007 00:58

Well I think so, lol.

I do dislike sweeping generalisations.

But then I think we're all guilty of it now and again.

LordPan · 13/07/2007 01:00

Indeed!!..just when the generalisations cover an entire gender, it gets a litle.... irksome.

OP posts:
LordPan · 13/07/2007 01:00

or'little' even..

VeniVidiVickiQV · 13/07/2007 01:00

I hate 'man bashing'.

But I am confident in saying that, because I have a good, balanced relationship

I dislike stereotyping and generalisations.

naswm · 13/07/2007 01:01

well this site is claled MUMSNET so ou can expect a fair amoint of men-bashing

alothogh I am sure non if it is justified

LordPan · 13/07/2007 01:03

it's a parenting site.

and yes, of course, I would be a fool to not expect 'some' of that stuff. But that doesn't make it okay, IMVHO.

OP posts:
VeniVidiVickiQV · 13/07/2007 01:03

Shouldnt have to "expect it".

VeniVidiVickiQV · 13/07/2007 01:05

Certainly expect someone to bitch about their partner, but there's a difference between moaning about your DP and saying "all men are shits".

Clearly this is not true. My DP is wonderful and amazing, and Pan is gorgeous and lovely for a start. My Dad - well, he's the best dad in the world - save for DP.

LordPan · 13/07/2007 01:05

and perhaps, on reflection, it isn't called "partnersnet" either, so gender-bashing is not licenced by the title "mumsnet"...

OP posts:
naswm · 13/07/2007 01:05

I now - I didnt say it was a mussm site - I sait it was called Mumsnet. and by its very nature is prdominantly female. And a lot fo womena like slgging off me.

tbh I thk this site is prttyt fair when it comes to the male/female relatiosnhp.

lordP do I kwnow you?

REBELlatrixlestrange · 13/07/2007 01:07

I disagree that you should expect man-bashing.

Having a whinge about specifics is one thing.

Sweeping generalisations are unacceptable.

LordPan · 13/07/2007 01:07

Eye thang yew.

OP posts:
LordPan · 13/07/2007 01:09

naswm..I don't think so. You were just about the first poster I repllied to on boards, about a year ago?? But, not since, no.

what makes you think so??

OP posts:
naswm · 13/07/2007 01:12

I didnt say I agreed with it, but I said on a site entitieled MUMSnet, used predomintiatly bywomen, it would attaract some men bashing.

I am sure if you went on any of the makle sites there wioudl be simlar 'wife abshsing' threads. 'my dw has a headache' or simsialr.

maqybe I am wrong

LordPan · 13/07/2007 01:14

you may be right,naswm..but still, not good here.

OP posts:
LordPan · 13/07/2007 01:17

IMVHO...as REBEL says...complain/let off steam about individual failings of partners is fine..but the "men are/do/don't do" etc....wee bit unfair..

Beauty sleep calls.
