@lljkk

Quest is doing Vuelta highlights, 7pm channel 12 (Freeview) or Ch69 (Quest + 1).

Will there be an MN league for ToB?

I have a ToB team now. I chose ToB riders 50% based on who I fancy, and 50% based on 'unusual' names.

@lljkk you can use the same details as the Vuelta one it will put your ToB team into the Mumsnet ToB league

@lljkk we've just had a laugh looking at your ToB team and guessing which riders were picked for being fanciable, and which for their unusual names Smile It seems as good a system as any!

@Pan2 Well done!

5th place for me so not bad, hopefully will do better in the ToB

Congratulations @Pan2, and thank you @FelicityLemon for organising. Hoping for better results from ToB...

Pan2 · 06/09/2021 18:12

Yay!! I really wasn't sure. I don't think I've won a grand tour before. And yes Felicity you bombed out of the pack in the last week and I thought you were going sailing on by.
Thanks for the thread. Bike

Missed the ToB.......

I think that my heart over results team (Cavendish, Declerq and Alaphilippe and assorted members of the young Great Britain team) means that I'll definitely trundling just ahead of the broomwagon Blush

FelicityLemon · 13/09/2021 07:28

Whoah, that went well. A late season win! See you all at the Giro

Lanterne Rouge for me Blush Supported the "wrong" young riders Wink

But I did see ds for a millisecond standing on the central island in Aberdeen just before the peloton caught the breakaway Grin (he'd told me he would be wearing his light blue hoodie). He said he shouted loud support for Cavendish that he thinks he heard, plus also shouted for Porte who was at the back. He remembers David Miller saying that they do hear the support and that it does help Smile

Loved that the wee lad who'd raced the breakaway in Edinburgh, to the amusement of the commentators, and who'd been given the bidon by the Jumbo-Visma rider had been invited up for the stage, both at the start and on the podium for the presentation of the Sprinters jersey Smile

Well done Felicity! I enjoyed this ToB even more than usual - some really good tussles between the breakaway and the peloton, and brilliant that the winner wasn't decided until the last day. Really enjoyed the ITV4 commentary too, so much better than Quest - we found Ned Boulting and Adam Blythe very entertaining. Loved the bidon being given to the young boy too!

EndoplasmicReticulum · 14/09/2021 20:33

So, World Championships next week then?
Well done Felicity!

Pan2 · 14/09/2021 21:48

Well done Felicity!

Been neglecting the cycling (kids off to university to sort out and mourn, empty nest now ).

But did catch the Mixed Team time trials and am so pleased for Tony Martin! What a way to retire, as they say.
