Good to see Sagan on form again he had a shocker yesterday finishing 15 minutes down, he even managed to be 7 minutes behind his brother. And Alaphilippe keeps the yellow jersey so Etixx lead both the ToC and Giro, that is some powerful voodoo.

I have now been roused from the coma that yesterday's stage sent me into. Unfortunately while I could work from home yesterday I am stuck in the office today. I expect Bob will lose the pink jersey after today but it's been a good run, let's hope for some exciting mountain action.

Just caught up with highlights from yesterday. Stage 13 wasn't that all about why Giro and tours are soo good? Beautiful scenery, pan-tiled roofs, attacks on the climbs, scary descending round hairpins. Brill.
And Nieve was out on his own from about 35km out - monster ride.

It's gorgeous. Sadly we have lost two today, Demare and Brandle abandon. Brandle was on for the maglia nera expect it will go to Cheng Ji again.

Those majestic and scary mountains are made of gabbro rock, which is very 'sticky' and excellent for climbing. So my mountaineering buddy tells me! It's also the same rock as found in the Cullins on the Isle of Skye.

Right, stupid work, I am peddling very hard to not get picked up by the broom wagon. It's amazing seeing them up there in the snow. Tough, tough course, Amador not looking good although he's having a crack at catching up, chwarae teg! As they say in these parts (fair play ).

What's the conspiracy theory over Pantani? I must have read the wrong book, as far as I knew he took a lot of drugs and went a bit crazy and it was all very sad.
