I don't think we have a thread yet. The Giro starts on 7th May. Let's discuss.

I am super excited because Movistar may be letting Carlos Betancur start. AKA as Baby Bunny.

Felicity I have that list of titles in my work email signature now, thanks. Smile

Having BIG probs getting onto the velogames site so don't know how Lurch is getting on. Anyone else?

Report
justinelibertine · 13/05/2016 11:02

Lurch is still top in GC. 26 seconds on Fuglsang. It's a pan flat stage today so is likely to stay that way.

Velogames is bloody rubbish sometimes isn't it?!

Is it just easily crowded servers? The design is great, though, I think.

But I would think that - I have Lurch, Fulsang, Jungels and Chaves all in the top 10 - and all the others have chipped in too. Just can't see where we are in the standings.

Poor Tom! Grin

That was some finish by Greipel wasn't it, from right back in the bunch.Bike. When I saw Kittel off his bike I felt really mean in liking the fact as he wouldn't be fighting Greipel for a stage win. I'm just not competitive enough for this game.Smile

What a stage! I almost shed a tear at the pictures of the winner calling home.

Felicity me too! He looked so happy. I think he might've been calling his mum Smile

oh dear! Am reading Viviani failed to meet the time cut off point yesterday so he is out. Strange? IF it was a horrible mountain stage then you could see how. But yesterday was lumpy with just one big lump. And Marcel has now left the salon.

DA - he could have been phoning his g/friend who has just given birth?:

GB - Amore mio! I won! I won!
Signora B - Well good for you, riding round the countryside with your mates whilst I have a shrieking new born who won't sleep. Now get your bony arse back here and help out a bit you slacker. And stop for 20 fags on the way. I'm gasping here!

or something like that....

Looks like Tom is going to have to borrow Felicity's motorbike to catch up now. Bike

Oh I didn't know Brambilla's girlfriend had just given birth. Double celebrations for him then!

Report
SmallLegsOrSmallEggs · 16/05/2016 00:56

I have pan. Thanks to.Brambilla I am doing a bit better today but still way down. Hesjedal has been a big let down. Poor old Belkov has been better value.

Your team is doing well.
Have not actually seen any of the cycling. Just the reports

Felt a bit sorry for Bob, 1 second is not much. Still the jersey stays at Etixx for one more day. After their rather grim spring classics season I didn't have much hope for the Giro. If they have the maglia rosa in Turin I will buy some new flooring to celebrate. Grin Bike

So arrivederci Mikel Landa, abandoned due to illness.

Report
OnYerBikePan · 17/05/2016 14:48

So that means Nieve or Roche as primo rider??

Report
FelicityLemon · 17/05/2016 15:01

They have now lost Viviani and Landa so are left with Ian Boswell, Philip Deignan, Sebastian Henao, Christian Knees, David Lopez, Nicolas Roche, Mikel Nieve. Roche was 6 minutes down at the start of the day and Nieve 10 minutes so I guess they will go with whoever thinks he is going to do best in the mountains.

Apparently the illness was gastroenteritis possibly from some dodgy barbecue, though that is from Twitter so I wouldn't bank on its accuracy

Report
OnYerBikePan · 17/05/2016 15:06

No no no - I understand twitter to be close to Papal infallability when it comes to reporting. Grin

Isn't it for precisely this scenario that Sky signed NR a couple of years ago? He needs pushing to the front I think. nothing at all to do with the fact I have Roche in my team. As well as Nieve too

LOL at the self interest. In other news Katusha have sent Tsatevich home for the shameless drafting of Ludvigsson in the TT.

spoiler

In yet more slightly spoilery news it appears that Patrick Lefevre got a DIY voodoo kit (or something similar) for Christmas Grin

And it looks like he's been practicing it on Team Sky! I'll be visiting the Death Star bus shortly with some special BBQ sauce. And a big stick. (I'm really not liking what this velogames competitiveness is doing to my ordinarily charming and sweet nature. Grin)

Report
FelicityLemon · 18/05/2016 10:35

You keep your sauce away from my Etixx boys Grin anyway it's not as if Sky have a great record at the Giro. Apart from Uran who could have won if he hadn't sacrificed time for an imploding Wiggins I don't remember them making much of a showing.

I wonder if someone at Trek is now regretting letting Bob Jungels go and keeping Hesjedal?

Also Ashley House should now be given a severe talking to for his tortured pun at the end of his interview with Bob yesterday. 'The big guns in rosa say welcome to the Jungels' really Ashley?
