I thought it was time to move over here from Telly Addicts as we're now discussing Joseph the musical, and not Any Dream Will Do. The other thread was about to get too full anyway.

Is it you who's got the Prius? or is that Boing?

binklehasflipped · 29/07/2007 22:52

No it's me spend my days whirring around the fylde coast in my little electric motor!!

Your car sounds really lovely, I do like a red car

LyraBelacqua · 29/07/2007 22:54

The one we've just sold is raspberry red and the new one is inferno red

binklehasflipped · 29/07/2007 22:56

my first car was a bright red mg metro - though t I was the beeknees in that I can tell you (because an MG, you understand, thus sporty I was insanely proud of this, even though it actually had a 1 litre engine )

Also had an old peugeot 205 cabriolet in red which I loved too...

Just got boring black now, which for some reason seems to be a bird poo magnet...

LyraBelacqua · 29/07/2007 23:06

Metro has to be my least favourite car of all time. Sporty? Are you sure?
My first car was a white Fiat Panda with plenty of rust for a splash of colour. My best car ever was a black VW Golf Driver which I reluctantly sold a couple of years ago at 13 years old. Current car (soon to go to new owner) is grandad-style Nissan Primera. Very reliable but severely lacking in style.

binklehasflipped · 29/07/2007 23:10

oh I had a black golf too, just after dd born...loved that car, especially its lovely twinkly blue lights on the dashboard. It was a great car, as for the metro, it was a Y reg and everybody but EVERYBODY told me not to buy this car - an absolute ringer - as so it was, they saw me coming that day alright.

But loved my golf and after that I had a vw beetle convertible for a short time, when they first came out (worked at vw garage) I liked it to start with but the novelty wore off pretty quick

Berrie · 30/07/2007 08:31

Oh oh oh! Whay does everyone start talking when I go?
My first car was a yellow Fiat 127. I luuuurved it. I had a red KA(no poke)before switching to a 'family' car. It's a Renault Senic. Crap car really, wouldn't ever reccomend it though it's spacious inside. It's silver, I wanted a froggy green one.

Dh and I have just started a challenge today. First one to lose a stone gets the £100 tax back which came through the other day. He said that he would look forward to taking that off me so you need to help me stay focused! If you catch me on here send me to run up and down the stairs a few times...actually don't do that, I might go through them!

BoingBoing · 30/07/2007 08:52

Weekday skiver? ! I'll have you know I've devoted the weekend to finishing off HP as I was terrified of finding out the ending 'by accident'. So....now I know how it ends nernernernerner!!!! [thumbs nose, sticks out tongue and threatens to reveal the ending if anyone upsets her]

First car...Saab xs. Lovely car. Still miss it. And I didn't own it until I was 30, which is my excuse for a grown up car. Current (and only 2nd) car - audi A4. Goes like the clappers, but I wouldn't buy another one. Dream car....mercedes kompressor thingy. Yumm!

Berrie · 30/07/2007 09:51

Also fast silver fiat, forget the model, 2 crappy ford fiestas, ford escort estate, blue vauxhall something or other (liked that one) erm...all very forgetable!

Right off to the dentist, will almost be nice as will stop having phonecalls from blimmin' Bob the Builder asking if I have any jobs need doing followed by a phonecall from Wendy who wants nothing because she can't really speak but I have to answer the phone anyway. Then I have to make them tea...is no longer cute now we've done it 3240 times.

Berrie · 30/07/2007 09:53

Lyra, what do you make of Mr Cameron? How do you rate his chances?

LyraBelacqua · 30/07/2007 10:04

Oh, I dunno, he's a big improvement on Michael Howard isn't he. he went up in my estimation when he revealed that his favourite album in The Queen Is Dead by The Smiths (one of my favourites). Good reason to vote for him eh?

BoingBoing · 30/07/2007 10:25

And he's not a swivel-eyed lunatic who thinks Churchill's still alive and Thatcher should return from retirement. What an improvement, provided he can resist that lot.

Berrie · 30/07/2007 10:49

Favourite of mine too, in fact shall put it on now...Berrie struggles hopelessly to plug amp into laptop...

Berrie · 30/07/2007 10:53

Aha...done it...Take me back to dear old blighty....la la la

BoingBoing · 30/07/2007 11:03

Berrie, you're not going to end up sitting in the corner with a dafodil out of your bottom feeling all depressed and nihilistic are you?

Berrie · 30/07/2007 11:09

On the contrary...I find the Smiths to be very uplifting, am dancing round room with dc, pelvic floor giving way though

BoingBoing · 30/07/2007 11:18

Beats the Spice Girls which DS was bopping around the kitchen to this am. (Sarah Kennedy's choice, NOT mine!)

Berrie · 30/07/2007 11:21

That's enough of that...time for some Phantom of the Opera!

Berrie · 30/07/2007 11:23

Ah bless, I always think of you as having a babe in arms since you said that DH has never changed a nappy (how has he got away with it for so long?)

BoingBoing · 30/07/2007 11:32

DS is 2 and sadly wayyy too heavy for a babe in arms. My back can't take it much longer...... DH avoids nappies by not being around at crucial moments.
Phantom huh? Hopefully not Sarah Brightman's version!!!!

Berrie · 30/07/2007 11:39

Nah...that lasted 2 mins...ds says he doesn't like that noise..dh tends to share that view

BoingBoing · 30/07/2007 12:11

Go on, try the Spice Girls!

Berrie · 30/07/2007 12:15

I'll think about it
I have eaten a very small bowl of muesli and an apple...dh has had a packet of crisps. I reckon that means I'm winning but dh is sure that he will still win. Will have to go for a hearty walk next He can't do that sitting fatly behind his desk can he

BoingBoing · 30/07/2007 13:23

[coughs embarrassed-ly] Burts mature cheddar crisps

slayerette · 30/07/2007 13:49

Ooh - went to a wedding yesterday and at the evening do they played Lee's single towards the end of the evening - cue row of drunken women swaying to and fro and putting in all the harmonies
and lots of blokes with their faces on.

Am thinking about new car but the garage is trying to offer a lot less for current one than it's worth

and my credit card charged me a late fee today

so the payment was late but I rang up to complain anyway, saying - in snootiest teacher voice - 'So you can confirm that this fee serves no administrative purpose AT ALL but is in fact wholly punitive' and the woman said 'Er -yes'. So I still have to pay £12, still don't feel better about it, but at least I got to bitch about it
