Because now I have YEARS of episodes to watch. It will severely affect my MN activity. And I will be watching them all out of order as we started with season 3

i know, i know - when i do manage to find it on, i love it even though i havn't a clue who anyone is.

Swizzler · 29/04/2007 15:18

DH and I haven't a clue either. But we are transfixed

We are the same, about 6 years behind everyone else, but v hooked. I won't talk to anyone about it in case the reveal a major season 6 type plot line like CJ snogging POTA or something.

Big question for me though - why does Josh walk with a pimp roll?

JackieNo · 29/04/2007 15:21

We watched series 1 and most of 2, and then Channel 4 started putting it on at strange unpredictable times, really late, and never the same time twice, so I lost track of it. It is brilliant though.

bumperlicious · 29/04/2007 15:21

Ok, if you get the box sets don't expect to have a life or do any housework for about 3 months! DH and I discovered this just before Christmas and have watched all but the last season. It's BRILLIANT. And after a while you start to understand what everyone's job is, and you have to have faith that things that you may not understand at the beginning of the episode are usually explained by the end, just means you can watch them again and again and discover something new each time. Love it love it love it!

Swizzler · 29/04/2007 17:26

We have series 3 in our grubby little hands JackieNo (sticks tongue out).

There's 6 series? . That's our social life gone. Such as it was.

See, this is what happens when you don't have a telly for 8 years. What else are you keeping from me?

(apart from Lost and anything to do with the undead - have looked into these and concluded they are garbage )

Swizzler.

Umm - Desperate Housewives? Doctor Who and Torchwood (or do those come under the heading of 'the undead'?).

Swizzler · 29/04/2007 17:30

Doctor Who verging on the undead but David Tennatn is cute so it may be worth a go...

and saw one episode of desperate housewives and came out in hives. Irritating beyong belief. Hate hate hate shows with narrators.

OP posts:
JackieNo · 29/04/2007 17:33

Fair enough. The narration is generally only at the beginning and end, I think. But I'm sure there's plenty more out there.

rowan1971 · 29/04/2007 17:39

Swizzler - there is nothing as fab as the West Wing. However, presiding genius Aaron Sorkin stopped writing it at the end of Series 4 (I think), and John Wells of ER fame took over the production at that point, Thus the last couple of series are not quite so good.

Sorkin has written a new series that More4 have bought (Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip), but Sorkin has been in drug rehab in the meantime and everyone says his writing is no longer so dementedly fast and funny.

If you have freeview, WW repeats are on More4, Sunday evenings at 8.

Am fast becoming qualified for a new job as a High Court judge: 'so who is this Beckham fella'?

OP posts:
Swizzler · 29/04/2007 17:40

Ah. So only about 100 hours to watch rather than 120. That makes it a bit better

OP posts:
Blandmum · 29/04/2007 17:41

I agree with you rowan the last two series were no-where near as good.

That said they were still better than lots of the crud on TV!

Swizzler · 29/04/2007 17:41

Still no telly though, but can watch dvds on computer.

OP posts:
rowan1971 · 29/04/2007 17:42

With the 20 hours you save, you can invent new WW-themed vocabulary: 'pedeconferencing'(holding meetings while walking fast down corridors); 'exposition fairy' (Donna's slightly tedious role of explaining what the hell Josh is involved in this week).

Swizzler · 29/04/2007 17:44

Still pondering why Martin Sheen always filmed at least once per episode walking into the light - messianic complex? showing off the tailoring on his natty suits?

OP posts:
rowan1971 · 29/04/2007 17:44

Swizzler, have you tried the first couple of series of Shameless? I ask because I also love WW and hate DH, and the first two series of Shameless are, IMHO, completely top.

rowan1971 · 29/04/2007 17:45

Have you noticed the thoroughly bizarre way in which he puts on his jacket?

Swizzler · 29/04/2007 17:46

Yes! Spotted that one last night. Is he secretly Batman?

Ladymuck · 29/04/2007 17:47

I thought that there were 7 series? Agree series 5 wasn't great, but 6 & 7 got better I thought.

rowan1971 · 29/04/2007 17:49

at Batman. It's one explanation. Or possibly he's attempting to punch out two invisible men?

Oooh, if you've got your Amazon list out, how about Six Feet Under?

Swizzler · 29/04/2007 17:49

7?

OP posts:
Swizzler · 29/04/2007 17:50

it's on
