Have you heard it or read it? What didn't you 'get'? You have probably twigged that the two voices are narrators and they and the characters lead you through a day in a (made-up) Welsh village.

DS and a friend are wanting to put it on as a play - I have seen part of the script and I am confused how vital the voices are iyswim

2 people would be a MAJOR tour de force. Cali is right, try to borrow it from the library or a friend or indeed buy it to listen to, it's gorgeous.

IIRC that is part of what I have seen in the script he showed me

DS has worked out a deffo brill voice for her

All sort of haughty taughty so if she is a battle axe I think it will work quite well
