arfy/MrsJohnCusacks 1st July charidee concert plug...

MrsJohnCusack · 21/06/2006 22:23

Hello all, please forgive me for a shameless plug, but it is all for charidee and no profits to be made by anyone.

The concert is on Sat 1st July at St James's Church, Piccadilly and is basically a memorial for the July 7th bombings, in particular Laura Webb, who was the sister-in-law of a very good friend of mine who has organised the concert in her memory.

Details & booking are here

What we can't say on the publicity material, thanks to the meanies at the LSO (where she's playing the Bruch the next night), is that the violin soloist is Sarah Chang, who is just unbelievable, world famous, fabulous etc.

It's a beautiful programme - Barber Adagio for Strings, Bruch Violin Concerto and Elgar Enigma Variations.

Just in case anyone fancies it. We have no publicity budget so we're spreading info via word of mouth.....and for me that def involves Mumsnet!

MrsJohnCusack (was arfy - pesky name changers I hear you say!)

at having your cherry plucked to Nimrod
beats Dark Side of the Moon
I won't be able to make it as I will still be on holiday.
it sounds like a wonderful concert, though def. a three kleenex occasion

MrsJohnCusack · 22/06/2006 11:17

CFrau has ruined Nimrod for me ever since she said that recently - every time I hear it I snigger. Well not ruined, but I can't now join in with the solemnity of the whole thing....

My poor friend who is organising it is attempting to play 2nd flute, even though she's bound to blub. As she says, it's her own fault for choosing that programme! I'm bound to cry as well

This is mostly an amateur/semi-pro orchestra but we've supplemented our ranks with some 'young professionals' so we can do justice to Sarah Chang. Should be good if any of you do make it. Thanks for reading!
