We had one done, drawing of me & dh sitting soberly in empty space as inspired by ancient Egyptian married-couple statues (eg ) as we thought those rather unexpectedly affectionate & nice. Also because those statues are often just of Officials (not pharoahs), & at the time dh was in the Treasury.

Binkie, that "An Arundel Tomb" type simplicity is what appeals to me about the Henry Moore statue "King and Queen". What a lovely commission...

JoolsToo · 14/11/2005 13:01

Holbein

jabberwocky · 14/11/2005 13:52

Marina, love it! Yes, that is me exactly

Well I'd have to vote for a photographic portrait from Paolo Roversi.

Painting would be a toss up between Magritte (a very surreal one) or Klimpt in the style of his sea serpent paintings.

She's gonna do it at mates rates geekgrrl!

But I can find out what she charges.

She has her own website, but I can't find the address at the moment.

I can't wait. She does amazing work.

aloha · 14/11/2005 14:41

Sargeant or Vermeer. Glam or not glam, that is the question.

aloha · 14/11/2005 14:42

Or a Rodin sculpture (except the old goat always wanted to shag his models...yikes!)

Blu · 14/11/2005 14:59

Titian, if i could go to the tropical island for the sitting!

I would keep any portrait of me in the attic, anyway!

Arabica · 14/11/2005 18:02

I thought Rodin didn't do the tricky bits of his sculptures, it was the female artist he worked with (forgotten her name); so maybe it would be a 3-some!!!!!!!
