8 teenagers in one car that crashed

So they were driving the wrong way on a motorway and crashed in to a single driver. At 5.30am. Apparently the car was stolen. I'm seeing photos on tiktok and they look to be very young.

Where the hell are the parents in this?! I'm seeing tiktoks where the families of these 8 boys are asking for prayers, etc. I wonder if they feel any shame at all?! Or is that an emotion they are unfamiliar with.

I think these parents need to be held accountable in some way... My sympathy lies entirely with the driver of the other car.

So the driver was the polish lad not that his nationality has anything to do with it just to point out which one he was, was also the driver from the previous stolen car going the wrong way with 8 kids in it. He was on bail for similar charges and well known to the gardai. It was only a matter of time for that lad really.

Have you got a source/link for this?

I grew up with two sets of neighbours whose children spent their teen years inflicting misery on everyone else.

If you have the time, I can outline the exact circumstances from the time the kids were toddlers that led to the teens' behaviour. The short version is that the parents were scum.

As adults, the delinquent teens have been in and out of jail for decades. The most serious crime was armed robbery.

Right, so that's your neighbours and we all know the types. Are these also the kids that were involved in this case the OP has posted about then? No.

You do not KNOW anything about the parents involved in this case. You don't know they are chavvy good-for-nothings as you assume. You don't know if they DO care what their kids are getting up to and they have tried to get them onto the right track in life.

I refuse to judge the parents as I DO NOT KNOW THEM (nor do you) or what they have done or have not done or what they think.

There is a guy in FB called The Quiet Traveller. Have you come across him @DeanElderberry ? Well he thinks the lawless element in his community is out of control and things have to change. The government should be encouraging people like him. Sometimes they have good initiatives - my son got a Garda Youth Award and a Traveller girl was one of the other winners for example.
But I think Pavee Point are a bit useless now. They just highlight grievances with much in the way of concrete suggestions.

My Traveller neighbour is as good as gold , has two little kids. Husband is a bit of a langer but luckily he doesn't live with them.

All over media today but seems to be behind paywall when I google him. The irish indo, crimeworld etc all have his picture and the fact he was on bail and not even meant to leave his county. Well known to gardai.

Rondayvu · 19/08/2026 11:09

There are also many videos circulating from within the car and previous tiktoks, none of which I will be linking but google brings up many many things that are disturbing about these little fucks.

Do you think some teenagers just behave in this manner and parenting has nothing to do with it? We have significant evidence base that neglect and inappropriate parenting is correlated with this type of behaviour so while of course the poster can’t say for definite, she can make a reasonably educated guess that the parents weren’t exactly model citizens and parents - something that is being substantiated by media updates from their families and information from people unfortunate enough to have to live in close proximity to them.

I just looked up some of the social media posts. I saw some comments saying it was the fault of the innocent car 🙄. I also saw some of the tributes where they're not showing the kinds of photos you'd use for something like that, such as them in balaclavas and doing rude hand gestures.

Cannesdo · 19/08/2026 13:27

According to the Irish Independent the leader of the gang who were killed, was out on bail.
He was facing multiple charges for offences relating to being a passenger in a stolen car and other offences.
Our Justice Minister Jim O’ Callaghan announced he is considering a new criminal offence for those who drive the wrong way on a motorway.
Yeah ! That should put the fear of God on them 🙄

My husband is a Guard....I said to him earlier he'd better not apply to do that training. He said not a chance in hell would he do it! They really are not paid enough to do that...

I respect that view but it is extremely unhelpful and is confirming the message that they are untouchable. If the gardai, paid to be "the guardians of the peace", will not pursue them who is going to stop them?

Do we need more dedicated traffic police like in the UK who can respond quicker, shut motorways, shut slip ways etc fast when an alert goes out. What tools are there to intercept vehicles which do not put gardai at risk. I watch a lot of those police shows on English channels which have cameras rolling for high speed chases, these are well trained officers who are well able to judge what is and isn't safe and they are very effective and more often than not intercept the drivers before they do the public harm. There just seems to be such a "can't do" attitude here which is disappointing

How on earth are they spinning it to try to portray the innocent victims as the perpetrators? Or are they so arrogant that they believe anybody wanting to use a public road properly must automatically be in the wrong when they want to criminally and dangerously abuse it at the same time?

Pure DARVO

Deny, Attack, Reverse Victim and Offender. The abuser's charter - the abused in this circumstance being society.

The Info I read said that Jeremy was the driver and kamal was a passenger. And that it was different kids involved in the 8 injured last week

He had to leave Limerick for his own safety but he didn't change his ways.

parallolo · 19/08/2026 18:26

I hope their funerals are peaceful. In the event that there is intelligence out there that there may be gatherings with weapons etc., the funerals should be banned from using main roads to ensure the lives of ordinary citizens are not disrupted on the day(s) of the funerals. Already it is being hinted that Gardai are mounting a huge security operation for the funerals.

I'm all for respecting the dead, and people should be able to bury their dead with dignity, but one hint of a gold coffin, horse drawn carriages with massive picture boards and mad music at the church, a sulky, a slash hook, etc. then the funerals should be held at 4 or 5 am somewhere. Might minimise things. And it would be great if media coverage was limited to hearing what the funeral celebrant has to say and that's all. No wall to wall coverage of it. Less is more and notoriety dies with them.

We shall see.

Thanks for the link, incredible the volume of crimes they have been involved in.

I'd also be concerned that they may end up with their graves getting the Willy Collins treatment - and anybody who dares to protest will be painted as a racist bigot hating a bunch of loveable rogue 'rough diamond' kids.

Thanks for sharing. I thought some people were a bit harsh in what they were saying about the boys but learning more, it really is a good thing they’re not around anymore. It’s crazy one of them was already involved in injuring another person in a crash and still chose to continue behaving like that. The motorcyclist has life changing injuries. I haven’t heard any update on the four in the car but hope they’re improving 🙏

Livingthebestlife · 19/08/2026 23:25

Omg the balloons, no shits given for human life, no shits given for animals 😢

RIP took down the death notice with all the comments, they now are putting them up with the comments disabled.

There's always trouble between themselves at funerals I can only imagine what's going to happen now with funeral details public and some really angry members of the public threatening to turn up.

I am happy that the media copped on and are publishing the victims photos, the go fund me is absolutely amazing, some very generous people out there.

This is vile.

Why is it vile?

My nephew and grand-niece are buried in a country graveyard. The city graveyards are full so the city's deceased are being buried in the rural graveyard.

The gardai and armed support unit have been present at Traveller funerals and found all sorts of items including slash hooks and other weapons for their fights with other Travellers.

The way they treat other peoples graves is disgusting and families have had to put signs "please do not stand on my grave" which are ignored, all sorts of disrespectful carry on - boozing, riding and shitting on other graves.

You still see them in the NE.

Loads in my village. Dd went to a primary school where nearly 50% of the kids in her year were traveller kids. Admitted it was a small school. But we have 3 encampments in the village. The entire adult inhabitants of one camp got lengthy prison sentences a while ago and you know what, the burglary rate in the vicinity plummeted. Sadly they’re back out now.

What actual enjoyment does it bring people to go to funerals and fight? I mean, if you're a violent and aggressive person, I'm sure there are countless opportunities for starting fights in the pub or in the street... so why the deliberate association with funerals? Or is it just the way some people like to pay their respects and mark the sad occasion: by smashing somebody's face in and going to prison (or dying themselves) as a result?

Thanks a lot for posting the link. I don't know what is more horrifying: the crimes themselves or the absolute lack of interest in properly punishing them and keeping innocent people safe from these people. Exactly how many serious crimes do you have to commit to be sent to prison and stay there?

With the 'going to prison or going to their grave' comment, I can only assume that the justice system has actively chosen the latter, if they refuse to appropriately use prisons to house these repeated career criminals. Maybe they figure that the grave works out cheaper for society in the long term; but it's a disgrace how many ordinary people they take with them as their victims.
