8 teenagers in one car that crashed

Fromhere1 · 11/08/2026 18:49

So they were driving the wrong way on a motorway and crashed in to a single driver. At 5.30am. Apparently the car was stolen. I'm seeing photos on tiktok and they look to be very young.

Where the hell are the parents in this?! I'm seeing tiktoks where the families of these 8 boys are asking for prayers, etc. I wonder if they feel any shame at all?! Or is that an emotion they are unfamiliar with.

I think these parents need to be held accountable in some way... My sympathy lies entirely with the driver of the other car.

Of course we can judge anyone, we all do it all the time be it subconsciously or consciously.

I don't judge people. Especially if I don't know their background. Not my place to judge.

Rip to all that died. We can't judge anyone. I remember teenage thrill seekers when I was a teenager. Your brain hasn't fully developed and you don't get it. It's reckless. They were only teenagers and obviously didn't intend on this happening. I feel sorry for all involved, especially those they crashed into.

well they were robbing houses/cars and evading the police and driving the wrong way down a motorway while filming it for social media likes and some of them had previously been involved in a hit and run using a stolen car which seriously injured someone…. To say they didn’t know what might happen is one of the most ridiculous statements I’ve seen about this and there’s some competition from their mates putting up videos and photos glorifying their burglaries and home invasions.

To the people defending these idiots, do you consider yourselves extreme left-wing?

I remember a conversation I had after one of the terror attacks in London - London Bridge, the attacker stabbed and murdered several people. Different situation but my friend's first response (after hearing this POS had stabbed and murdered two separate young people and started to attack more and then had been shot by police) was to tweet "why did the police shoot as their first instinct?" No thoughts at all for the victims, her first instinct was to leap to the defence of a maniac who had just murdered. The reason the police shot him was because he was continuing to attempt to murder innocent people.

It seems that type of bending over backwards to performatively sympathise with the minority in ALL situations no matter the context actually creates more hostility by people who are fed up with such absence of common sense.

It shouldn't be controversial to say 'here these people are behaving like shite, we need to do something about this'.

A great post!
Down and down we go...

When I read people defending dangerous teenage acts saying things like 'do you not remember being a teen' I honestly think these are the adult versions of the stupid teenagers that were around when I was a teen too and they sound just as stupid now. No, we didn't all engage in life threatening behaviour because we are too slow to process the consequences. We didnt all lack moral conscience until we were 25, we didnt all think theft or assault was funny. When people say these things, it might seem like an attempt at empathy towards young folk but it reflects badly in my opinion on the person saying it.

Yes, I can't understand it either. Most of us did foolish things when we were young, but they were generally the kind of thing that might have had minor consequences that only affected us personally and lasted a day or two.

Usually, the consequences would be meted out directly by our parents, who actually cared for us and who knew that small annoying consequences for silly choices would provide a behavioural 'sandbox' framework which would teach us to learn from it and not to repeat it, much less push things any further.

What we didn't do was repeatedly commit a catalogue of serious crimes - of the kind that the vast majority of adults would never dream of committing - which could very easily lead to us or other people ending up in prison or dead.

Livelovebehappy · 18/08/2026 00:11

If idiots want to be idiots and do things that put their life’s at risk, then crack on. But don’t put other people at risk and drag them into your sick games. There are innocent people currently in hospital in a critical condition due to the actions of these vile human beings. Some of these teens were under 16. What sort of parent doesn’t know, or doesn’t care enough, where their kids are at that time of night?!

That's because you had a particular upbringing. Not everyone grew up like that.

Which is why we must also address and harshly punish the parents who neglectfully enable and condone this. Children don't magically become well-adjusted, responsible adults all on their own - it's their parents' job to guide and ensure this; not just a little hobby that they might briefly consider if they happen to fancy it at all.

Mesk · 18/08/2026 00:16

I listened to part of a podcast earlier, (opinions matter) and they had on a woman who lives on the same estate as the two brothers, she had nothing good to say about them nor the parents, called them scumbags, said the kids were thrown out onto the street as soon as they could walk, and the two brothers were nothing but troublemakers. She said she knew the ‘non Irish’ when he was younger and he was lovely and his parents were lovely and decent people, didn’t know what had happened to him for him to be involved. She was very excitable and vocal about her dislike for the family of the two brothers.

She also mentioned one of the gang was driving around the same type of car as was involved in the incident, but she wasn’t sure if they owned it or if it was stolen.

Cooldani · 18/08/2026 02:05

I thought two of the boys were cousins, not brothers @Mesk?

Cooldani · 18/08/2026 02:12

The UK is soft on punishment, 40 places in Ireland for young offenders - it is a joke that is replicated across the nation.

I don’t understand this comment @DallasMajor.
Ireland (aka ROI) and the UK are separate countries.

They obviously didn't think they would all end up dead. Otherwise they wouldn't have done it. Who knows what went on (drink, drugs?). They were playing with fire but they were teenagers. One was 15.

Either way, I am not going to condemn anyone as it's not my place. It is sad all around.

If you are not condeming their actions, you are condoning them.

And that is wrong.

Threetyy · 18/08/2026 02:40

No it’s ridiculous. Trust me I did a lot of stupid shit as a youngster. Never once did I steal a car and drive it purposefully at speed the wrong way down a motorway for tiktok likes.

I had enough near death misses as it was due to normal teen stupidity.

abracadabra1980 · 18/08/2026 04:35

It's about time the law was changed to stop young drivers having passengers.

sammylady37 · 18/08/2026 05:50

My sympathies are entirely with the innocent victims in all of this, and the emergency services having to deal with the consequences of these scumbags actions.

The car was stolen, banning passengers wouldn’t have stopped these lawless kids

concertinacornflake · 18/08/2026 06:08

Fromhere1 · 11/08/2026 18:59

Maybe the parents thought their kids were in bed... Perhaps I'm judging too quickly.
But I'm inclined to think they may be the same sort of parents who have kids flying around on electric scooters with no helmets, no high- Viz, etc.

I think your judgement is inappropriate at this time and reflects badly on you.
Show a little humanity.
I read about the crash and thought it was a tragedy.

You could be right, maybe she said the same family and I assumed brothers.

What?

They disregarded the law about overloading cars, stealing, speeding and DRIVING THE WRONG WAY DOWN THE MOTORWAY.

How would that have helped in this situation? They were already evading capture by the police - I dont think respecting the law was a priority with them.

Good luck with engaging the travelling community.

DebbieSavage · 17/08/2026 23:29

I know a few travellers and the way the settled community treat them like pariahs is absolutely disgusting. It's no wonder they live life a little more by the seat of their pants than folks in other communities. Nobody respects them, nobody cares about them, nobody gives them anything.

R.I.P to those young lads.

Respect works both ways!

No, it’s about time that existing laws were enforced and breaches properly punished. How many laws had these lads already broken? Do you think they’d not break any new laws that weren’t policed properly?

If my family had been harmed by these young men I'd find your lack of judgement offensive.

No the judgement is entirely correct. Been thinking it for a while and this tragedy and discussion proves it. There deems to be 3 types of people in society
Scrotes like this lot who have no consideration, empathy or thought for anything but themselves. They contribute nothing to society and whats yours is theirs.
People on here who can explain and justify and support the scrotes and blame it all on society and the rest of us
The rest of us who try to live from day to day, doing what we do and dont ask for anything much besides getting on with life without being at risk of death or injury and robbed by the scrotes. We'd also like the government to govern and use our tax money wisely and well. Sadly the scrotes are thriving and increasing in number and our tax money is wasted every single day.
