Satchwell murder trial

I’m away on holiday at the minute so haven’t been following the trial too closely, but the updates I’m seeing online are suggesting a really bizarre relationship and dynamic.

Then again, the testimony of a man accused of murdering his wife and hiding her body in her own house for several years is bound to be divisive.

Would anyone like to discuss the trial? Let’s keep it to trial events and not speculation, if possible?

I've not much to say other than he truly sounds like a complete psychopath. He has fabricated so many stories. Nothing makes any sense. The poor animals in his care, the parrots cage was supposedly filthy when Gardai called. Also he says that they were trying to adopt monkeys, that's why he had so much money saved up. Over 20k in a money jar mostly made from car boot sales he says. The witness he says he was speaking to who last saw Tina completely denies seeing her.

deeahgwitch · 09/05/2025 07:46

I think it’s heartbreaking for Tina’s loved ones to have to listen to what’s being said about her in court. She can’t defend herself.
I think we should tread carefully on this thread until after the case has concluded.

Psychoticbreak · 09/05/2025 09:21

I said from day one he did it, I had a theory but obviously cannot post it as it is an ongoing trial but I feel so sorry for her family having to listen to this mans bullshit. He has lied so so much and will continue to do so. Probably believes his own lies at this point too.

nottheplan · 09/05/2025 09:35

I'm interested to hear your theory psychotic break, anything seems possible with this man.

deeahgwitch · 09/05/2025 14:15

Tina has no right of reply obviously to refute the awful things said about her.

SparkyBlue · 09/05/2025 19:23

I've been following it and it's just awful. The poor woman.

Magnalux · 09/05/2025 22:12

Yea it’s awful.. I remember when she went missing and after a few months he “found” two suitcases of her clothes in a Tesco car park and thinking sure you did! Poor woman

CKN · 09/05/2025 22:43

I also read that he gave away his chest freezer and sold her shoes at a car boot sale.
Don’t know how he thought he could get away with it

honeyfox · 09/05/2025 22:45

It gets more disturbing the more I hear about it.

user1471554720 · 09/05/2025 22:52

I think he controlled Tina. She didn't even have her own bank account. It was all in his name.

It is very unusual that she didn't work and was also not involved in any groups/socialising. Usually people who don't work are out walking dogs etc and are known by their neighbours. I wonder if he discouraged her from mixing with people.

It is very sad what he is saying about her. I think he is making up or exaggerating things to save his own skin.

DoRayMeMeMe · 10/05/2025 12:18

He’s obviously lying.

I just watched the Jason Corbett ‘show’ on Netflix, and the self serving liars all have the same thing about them.

Psychoticbreak · 10/05/2025 14:47

@DoRayMeMeMe I sobbed watching that. Them poor kids.

@DoRayMeMeMe I sobbed watching that. Them poor kids.

I know, just dreadful! She’s a fantasist, her Dad is a liar.

Thank god the aunt /uncle/ wider family are so amazing. One of the truly despicable things was dragging the father of his first wife into it. That he had to make a statement refuting the lies allocated to him really shows the ilk of them.
(And that’s just one aspect of many)

Psychoticbreak · 11/05/2025 12:15

It was scary watching her and her father talk.

deeahgwitch · 15/05/2025 19:17

He is insulting our intelligence.
Does he take us for fools ?
Will anyone get to speak on Tina’s behalf re the relationship?

nottheplan · 15/05/2025 20:39

He is a complete psychopath. His lies are so far fetched and include the strangest nonsensical details. He also seems to think he's quite the poet. Dillusionally egotistical.

DeanElderberry · 30/05/2025 12:42

GUILTY!

Thank God, I was really beginning to worry why it was taking them so long.

DoRayMeMeMe · 30/05/2025 12:44

Thank God!

Same I was worrying that if it went into the weekend then we could have seen a different result.

TheIceBear · 30/05/2025 12:57

It was so obvious he was guilty from the very start. Very strange man. I’m surprised he got away with it for so long. Poor Tina and her family.

BoIIocks · 30/05/2025 14:07

Delighted that the outcome was for the maximum possible charge.

His assertion of self-defense was laughable.

I agree with both your comments.

What a pity a convicted murderer can blacken the name of his / her victim in court and there is no one there to refute the allegations in the name of the victim 🥲
A gross injustice to the victim.

nottheplan · 30/05/2025 15:26

Justice prevails, phew! May Tina RIP now.

Carriemac · 30/05/2025 19:23

RIP Tina

mathanxiety · 30/05/2025 19:27

Good news.

A very sad story.
