Hi Craicnetters!

I was looking for the other thread and see it's fallen way down the list so I decided to make a new one for all our daily musings ☘️

Are we all enjoying the lovely girls?

FuzzyCaoraDhubh · 20/08/2024 22:27

Is it safe to turn the TV on yet?!

eggandonion · 20/08/2024 23:30

I don't know if I should admit this...my husband knew New Zealand was the winner.
He is going to send in a cv to become a judge next year.

Alalalalalongalalalalalonglonglilong · 20/08/2024 23:33

Anyone else not get the memo that red is in fashion again? I only saw some of it and commented to DH I hadn't seen a red dress in years. Then I saw about 12 of them!! All the same shade.

JaneJeffer · 20/08/2024 23:49

I just watched the end now to see who won. No crown? It's not the same without them trying to hold onto a crown and bawling in a scrum of roses.

DH knows the Waterford Rose since she was a child. I think the standard of the Roses has improved big time over the years.

Kathryn Thomas was shockingly bad, kept trying to make it all about herself, barely let the Roses speak and she kept shouting anytime she opened her mouth.

The Roses interviewed by Daithi had much better interviews.

eggandonion · 21/08/2024 08:35

I met the mum of the winning Waterford rosein 2018 in a museum gift shop. She sold me a Christmas decoration.
Dh was impressed but he was working with English people who had no idea of the importance of the Roses mammy.

Alalalalalongalalalalalonglonglilong · 21/08/2024 10:36

@honeyrider yeah the standard is higher and there is less of that silly plámásing that used to go on. I only saw a few last night but I remember a few years ago thinking there were a lot of overachievers. Not that there is anything wrong with that but it's nice if it's open to average girls too who don't have international medals and 2 degrees. Just ordinary 'lovely girls'.

honeyrider · 21/08/2024 11:43

The majority of Roses have been teachers this year so it's good to see women in ordinary jobs though some of the US Roses were high achievers.

Most of them ticked the Rose of Tralee bingo boxes last night.

I'm so sick of this weather Sad

Same and I need to go to the garage on my lunch break to get something to eat! I’m shoes on ready to go so I can run as soon as there’s a possible break in the rain.

August has been miserable the last couple of years, hopefully it means a nice September/October….

We had to have the lights on for most of the day, it was so overcast and dull!

LadyEloise1 · 06/09/2024 19:44

Sorry to hear that @FuzzyCaoraDhubh
It was glorious in North Wicklow.

DeanElderberry · 06/09/2024 19:45

Lovely in my corner of the mid west.

halfpasteleven · 06/09/2024 21:24

The sun shone in my part of the west as well. Tomorrow dry but duller. We need more sun!!!!

JaneJeffer · 07/09/2024 12:00

Could someone turn on the sun please? ☁️☁️☁️

DeanElderberry · 07/09/2024 12:26

I've been wondering whether if I went to the top of our local mountain would I find blue sky and sunshine up there (and a lovely view of the mist-filled low ground).

Apileofballyhoo · 07/09/2024 21:26

DS just called me into his room to show me a massive spider!

JaneJeffer · 08/09/2024 00:24

You were warned @Apileofballyhoo 😂

OP posts:
Apileofballyhoo · 08/09/2024 08:59

I was! I'm not bothered by spiders and he's not but this one was massive. He tried to catch it but it ran away really fast, it was like a mouse!

BocaChica · 08/09/2024 12:14

Would The Zoo like to know about it ?

Just googled Spiders Ireland 😟

Thinking of leavng the country
