I have a lot of weight to lose, and reading all the mounjaro/wegovy etc threads on here - can I get one of these prescribed here in Ireland? My BMI is 38.

How would i do it? With regular GP? Online dr?

Hiya

Lots of us are using online pharmacies. The clinicians will ask about your medical history, current weight a full photo and ID.
I received 50% discount when I signed up with joinvoy ( I did a few searches for discounts myself due to cost of living) and the pens aren't cheap.

Signing up as a new customer was pretty straightforward, my pen was delivered in 2 working days and I've been on Mounjaro for a week now. They do offer Wegovy and Ozempic. If you're interested you can take a look.

Best wishes

Are you in Ireland @Kiehls101 ?

I looked at that website and it seems you need to live in the UK.

Oh no. I am indeed in the UK.
So sorry about that, I overlooked your location.
Do have a look for other online pharmacies, hopefully there are a few serving Ireland.

I'm in Ireland and had it prescribed first by my GP and then my endocrinologist. Try that route, if you have other issues around weight loss, there's a company called beyond bmi who have a full range of doctors/dieticans/nutritionists etc that you can sign up with who will monitor your weight loss and prescribe accordingly. Ozempic Insights on Instagram has a discount code for them.

thanks! What are the criteria to have it prescribed? High enough BMI? What drug did your GP offer you? And why did you switch to an endocrinologist?

Will look into Beyong BMI, they keep popping up on SM but not really sure what they offer.

if you have other issues around weight loss,

Other issues? Not sure what you mean. I want to lose weight but I am not very good at it, especially since peri menopause hit.

I've hormonal issues, hadn't a period in almost 11 years that's why I went to endocrinologist. And she brought them back!

First I went on metformin as it's cheaper but that gave me tummy issues so I was prescribed ozempic, now I take both side by side.

Ozempic is definitely only a tool you need to be following a good diet and exercise too.

What I mean by other issues is do you binge eat/emotional hunger/PCOS to name a few?

Criteria is you must be obese. I had been attending my doctor for years with continuous weight gain despite having a good diet and exercising.

Talk to your GP or do a consultation with Beyond BMI?
