Hopefully some closure.
Ur heart would go out to her family.
Such a sad story.
Between the erratic husband and backstory.
Address being searched seems to be home.
Now we hope her family has closure.
Do hope she’s at peace.

This was a very strange case. I remember when it happened and I felt something wasn't right with, probably can't say here, but man very close to her.

It doesn't take a lot to join the dots on what the Garda have released, man in 50s, house on Grattan Street.

They didn't/never found a body ? Surely they need a body for a murder charge ?

I do hope the truth is discovered. There's some extremely violent and angry people in this world.

PlasticSheetingRTÉNews · 11/10/2023 10:47

The investigation of the house seems to be focused heavily on the garden.

Such a strange story. Her husband went to the supermarket and she was gone when he came home so he assumed she was with her family, but didn’t check, and reported her missing four days later.

He did so many interviews about how the media were blaming him.

Hopefully for her family's sake they finally get an answer to where she is. It was a very strange case. All indicators pointing to her husband but no evidence. Him finding the suitcases in supermarket car park a few months later was bizarre

pinkmont · 11/10/2023 13:15

I just read that.

Apparently new evidence of renovations done at the house during the time of her disappearance. How would that only come to light now?

Hope the police have arrested the right man, it all seemed very strange at the time.

Neverinamonthofsundays · 11/10/2023 13:26

I was reading this all on boards.ie at the time and everyone said it was the husband.

pinkmont · 11/10/2023 13:31

I think he was always the main suspect, but they couldn't find the evidence to charge him. If it was him, I wonder if he fessed up.

PlasticSheetingRTÉNews · 11/10/2023 15:52

The man can be held until 5pm and then either released, or charged.

Am I right in thinking someone is usually publicly named once charged?

OP posts:
Neverinamonthofsundays · 11/10/2023 16:07

Once charged yes but if it is the husband and he for some unknown reason said it was him years later then it would not be a shock but he was so adamant she 'just disapeared' at the time. Her poor family though.

Spirini · 11/10/2023 16:19

I remember seeing him on Primetime and thinking he was weird as fuck.

I read elsewhere that it's come to light that renovations were done at the house around the time of her disappearance, very strange the guards didn't know that before now. Either way I hope she's found and her family can finally have some peace.

Neverinamonthofsundays · 11/10/2023 16:25

That was said about the house at the time though too. I rememeber thinking he was a long distance driver and the only person to have seen her and he always came across as odd. Her niece used to post all the time about Tina and understatedly said he was to blame for Tinas disapearance.

We now have about an hour before we find out I guess if he did it his name will be released. bloody years though.

Neverinamonthofsundays · 11/10/2023 17:28

Released without charge.

PlasticSheetingRTÉNews · 11/10/2023 17:47

Interesting.

What 😲😲😲 what on earth is going on I wonder

ThirtyThrillionThreeTrees · 11/10/2023 18:03

Apparently the house next-door was bought by new owners in 2021 and there were having drainage problems which have been recently investigated. (I haven't seen this confirmed anywhere but it's a local rumour).

ThirtyThrillionThreeTrees · 11/10/2023 18:52

Released wihout charge. Whatever happened and is currently going on I hope they get answers for her family some day.

honeyrider · 12/10/2023 12:03

Human remains have been found, pathologist has been called in.

pinkmont · 12/10/2023 12:11

Omg, while it is horrible, it is a relief to know it is probably her remains, her family will have answers and he is on his way to a very long prison sentence.

SecretAgent008 · 12/10/2023 12:22

Surely the house was searched when she went missing.
This doesn't paint the gardai in a good light.

PlasticSheetingRTÉNews · 12/10/2023 12:39

The man has been rearrested.

OP posts:
Neverinamonthofsundays · 12/10/2023 12:40

Good.

pinkmont · 12/10/2023 12:44

She was missing for several days before he reported her missing (the days missing is according to the husband, could have been longer). I guess he had given himself time to hide her body pretty well.

However, If there is any truth to the rumour about the drainage issue needing investigation, maybe he tried to move her remains to somewhere else before the drainage investigation began. It's strange that it's only now there are reports of him digging in the middle of the night, no timeframe given for that so far, it could have been recent and not at the time of her being reported missing.

pinkmont · 12/10/2023 12:51

from the Irish Times.

The investigation took a dramatic turn shortly after 9am on Thursday morning when a Garda technical team resumed their search of the house and began dismantling alteration work that had been carried out on the property since Ms Satchwell’s disappearance in 2017.

Gardaí are remaining tight-lipped about the precise location of where the human remains were found but it is understood that the body was under floorboards in a downstairs room of the three storey house that is currently cordoned off behind screens by gardaí.

Wendysfriend · 12/10/2023 14:03

Omg this is horrific. So the poor woman has most likely been there all this time, with him walking ontop of the floorboards 😥

Surely when the house was searched in the beginning the Gardai must have suspected something, a body decomposes quite quickly, that's difficult to hide.

Oh god this is just shocking.

Liv999 · 12/10/2023 16:34

Shocking stuff, I hope the poor lady gets justice at last

Onceacheetah · 12/10/2023 20:57

I wonder why dogs weren't used to search the house before.
