Poor Sinead

I don't want to say much more in case I'm accused of being a grief voyeur but just my heart goes out to her. Her mental health was never good so now she has this to overcome too. Her poor son though, feeling that this was the answer. All so sad.

I hope she's going to be ok. Goodness knows she's had her own mental health struggles over the years. Coping with this would be awful for anyone but I do fear for her, being so vulnerable

Dreadful. This poor boy has been troubled for many years. He must have been in so much pain. She is very vulnerable herself. I hope they have good support now.

Young boys are so vulnerable, my heart is breaking for him that he thought this was his only option. And Sinead has struggled so much with her mental health, this is such sad news.

Me too. I've met her a few times and spoken to her on the phone quite a bit and she was always lovely.

Devastating news for his parents, siblings and friends. I saw the 'Missing' notices doing the rounds on FB but of course, I had no idea who he was and just thought some young lad had maybe fallen out with his parents and would turn up in a few days.

Sending condolences to all who knew and loved him. I hope the media leave his family alone to grieve in peace.

A terrible thing to happen, something my family has experienced 18 months ago and so many other families have experienced too.

The mental health services are atrocious with so many suicidal people being turfed out when they present at A&E.

I'm a little uncomfortable about some of the tweets about it. A former teacher tweeting about him, for example, all very kindly, but it doesn't sit right with me personally.

He must have had a very difficult upbringing with a lot of uncertainty, I hope he is at peace and his siblings and parents are receiving support.

I was quite confused when I read her statement because I genuinely thought she had passed away in the last couple of years! I have no idea why I thought that! I heard ‘nothing compares’ the other night and felt sad because such a talented singer had passed. Confused

It was my nephew, he was 21 and twice in the one day he presented at A&E when he was suicidal and he was refused help. He took his life shortly after. This is happening so much in the same hospital that the coronor wants to know what's going on in that psych. department.

My sister is finding it harder as time goes by, the devastation rips right through the family and extended family.
