I've just read the shocking news from Tallaght. Three sisters dead. No wonder the mam is in hospital it's just horrific Sad

LadyEloise1 · 04/09/2022 13:49

Shocking.
Unbelievable.
How can a mother possibly cope with that.
Sad

IsFuzzyBeagMise · 04/09/2022 14:01

I've just read it. How absolutely awful.

JaneJeffer · 04/09/2022 14:27

It's terrible. The other brother must be devastated.

DS1 is at EP. I don't think there's great coverage so I only know he got there.

Hard to process such awful news. RIP children.

LifeInAHamsterWheel · 04/09/2022 14:58

Apparently the victims are a 19 yr old girl and her twin boy/girl siblings just 8 years old. Another brother age 14 is in hospital with injuries. My God it's just desperate Sad Between this and the tragic accident at the Glenbeigh races yesterday evening where the young jockey died, it's a very sad day for us all.

At least the weather is better today, especially for all those at EP x

TheVeryThing · 04/09/2022 16:32

So heartbreaking, their poor mother and brother. It must have been very difficult for the emergency services who attended.
Some really tragic news this weekend, just saw that the young jockey who was killed in Kerry yesterday was only 13, Henry de Bromhead's son. Poor boy & his poor parents.

JaneJeffer · 04/09/2022 19:24

I've just seen there's a hurricane on the way. Great.

Oh god really? I may bring the washing in so... I am hoping the good weather comes back again for a final hurrah I'm just not ready for winter yet🤞🏻

For those of you Ross O'Carroll Kelly fans, Kielys is no more. Just a heap of rubble.
Was visiting southside and saw it gone.

Saw it gone - a real Irish expression. Smile

eggandonion · 07/09/2022 14:05

Poor Ross, i assume the girls in the school will be trained by him.

threadneedle · 08/09/2022 12:10

I can't believe Kielys is gone! It was a fundamental part of growing up in SoCoDu 😂 The best nights were after the French internationals, everyone was looking for a cute French boy!

Great chipper next door too, and Abrakebabra across the road for some soakage!

God, such happy, innocent times. I honestly think teens/young adults don't have nearly as much fun as we did growing up in the 80s/90s. There is much more angst now. Lots of reasons for this but I think the internet is responsible for a lot of it.

Iblinkedandiamold · 11/09/2022 21:10

I was at Garyh Brooks last night. Brilliant night and Brilliant weather. Feel sorry for the poor sods today.

JaneJeffer · 13/09/2022 13:43

I think Alex Maskey did a great job with his speech to King Charles

Iblinkedandiamold · 13/09/2022 18:58

I can't believe the Queen is dead. I can't get used to hearing King Charles or God save the King.
I am not a Royalist but in the last few years I really grew to admire the Queen. I thought she was an amazing woman for her age.

eggandonion · 13/09/2022 19:01

I think I will just call them Charles and Camilla, William and Kate etc. They must be exhausted, and a few more days to go.
Amazing life, working up to the end.

IsFuzzyBeagMise · 13/09/2022 19:28

I also admired the Queen. She was a wonderful stateswoman. Her visit to Ireland was full of sincerity and warmth. She was very gracious but she also seemed to enjoy herself. It was a very good time in Anglo-Irish relations.

I'm glad that Charles and Camilla had a good visit to the North today and that the weather was lovely. It seems normal to me to call them Charles and Camilla. I suppose that people will get used to calling him King Charles or the King. I often think of Egg's comment that Camilla looks like good fun and would enjoy a gin and tonic!

JaneJeffer · 13/09/2022 20:00

I think there was always great grá for the Queen from the majority of Ireland.

OP posts:
IsFuzzyBeagMise · 13/09/2022 20:04

Yes, I think so. I read on Sky News that Charles has visited the North forty times as Prince of Wales. He visited Cork in 2018.

CliffsofMohair · 13/09/2022 20:05

I’d love to go on the lash with Camilla. I’s say she is great craic.
