It got cloudy down south during the afternoon. It wasn't an absolute scorcher.

eggandonion · 17/06/2022 23:13

I had my lunch in a garden centre near youghal, sitting outside with a nice sea view. It was freezing.

IsFuzzyBeagMise · 18/06/2022 14:46

I hope you enjoyed your lunch, Egg.
You would need a fleece today for outdoor dining. It feels like the 18th of April!

halfpasteleven · 18/06/2022 23:31

So cold! And the WIND! We never had such a windy summer before! Can't leave up garden lights and it's really beginning to annoy me!

JaneJeffer · 18/06/2022 23:46

It's fecking freezing tonight.

Its the longest day this week, it feels like a nice St patrick's day.
Who do I complain to? Eamon Ryan?

IsFuzzyBeagMise · 19/06/2022 07:42

I had to put the heating on for a blast. So cold!
I started to grow lettuce on my south-facing windowsill like Eamon said. I should have chosen Iceberg :)

Iblinkedandiamold · 19/06/2022 10:32

Ah stop, I can't keep up with weather. Some days we seem to have all seasons in one. Could be cold in the morning with wind and rain and the sun could be splitting the stones in the afternoon.
Some days it's just constant rain.

I'm sick of this weather but extremely glad (and lucky, I know) that we're getting away this year so at least I'm guaranteed 2 weeks of sunshine. I need heat on my bones and I'm fed up not knowing how to dress for our weather Hmm

The cost of everything has really jumped hasn't it. I'm already dreading the winter when we'll have heat on almost all day/night etc. Butter is now €2.99 a pound! Generic, I never buy Kerrygold god knows what price that is now. Will prices ever come down? Or will we just be expected to get used to it? I know my salary certainly hasn't gone up so other things will have to take the hit. I generally put these things out of my mind as I'd get too stressed if I really thought about it, but when I do think, it scares me. And we're the lucky ones, we have two wages coming in and we're managing ok. Plenty of families will really struggle this winter Sad

honeyrider · 20/06/2022 10:48

The sun is out, I wonder how long it will last.

JaneJeffer · 20/06/2022 10:55

I'd give it till lunchtime @honeyrider Grin

It is actually meant to be lovely all day today.

Rain again tomorrow though..

eggandonion · 21/06/2022 19:35

Yesterday was lovely, today is meh. I don't know whether to water the garden. My house is a tip.

IsFuzzyBeagMise · 21/06/2022 20:10

Yesterday was a lovely blast of summer all the same. Today is the longest day of cloud.

eggandonion · 27/06/2022 09:13

What a wet weekend!
I am hearingore and more people with covid, many for the first time.

IsFuzzyBeagMise · 27/06/2022 23:14

Summer needs to start soon 🙄
There's talk of an Azores High for later this week. It's like the holy grail for great weather. Better not talk about it or I'll jinx it.
Yes, I've heard of more Covid cases too. One kid in my DD's class has got it twice.

JaneJeffer · 27/06/2022 23:27

The weather is brutal. I'm going to have to start taking vitamin D again.

My friend is counting the days for school to finish, because her son is in a class where lots of kids are vanishing daily with covid. Nobody seems to be saying anything...although now Paul Reid is going we have Nobody left to tell us off.
Im wearing socks and a fleece in bed.

honeyrider · 28/06/2022 00:49

I switched on the heat today.

LadyEloise1 · 28/06/2022 11:53

Hopefully the next person heading the HSE can sort it out. Though I doubt it.

Paul Reid is on crazy money and the HSE is a sh*tshow. SadAngrySad

JaneJeffer · 28/06/2022 12:07

The HSE is a disaster. They need some efficient hospital managers. If you go private everything runs like clockwork and one of those managers wouldn't get away with what they would if they worked for the HSE. There's no excuse for it. Just total disorganisation.

My daughter works in the hse. In a lot of places a member of staff checks rip.ie at the start of the day, because people get upset if a family member has died but an appointment is sent out. I wonder how many people on waiting lists are no longer around.
Since a lot of deaths are in hospital it would be a good idea to link death certificates to their records...
If i was applying for Paul's job, id want his salary.

IsFuzzyBeagMise · 28/06/2022 14:25

Listening to the radio today and this song came on;

The rain it ain't permanent. Soon we'll be dancing in the sun.

Ah Dermot, I like your optimism😅

I'm taking it all year round in Ireland..
Definitely been taking it all year so far- no danger of overdoing it with this summer!!
