Congrats @Joolsin! Hope to sleep tonight!
My friend had her second dose of moderna and felt rotten after it.. just wiped out and fluey.
She was ok after a day.

MrsMaiselsRedCoat · 21/06/2021 22:59

@Joolsin I was exactly the same after my first Pfizer, completely wired and awake all night, it was really odd! Nothing else, not even a sore arm.

CliffsofMohair · 21/06/2021 23:18

Cliffs are home with sore arms but happy hearts ♥️

ManorMouse · 22/06/2021 06:49

I had my second Pfizer jab last week. No sore arm to speak of but I did feel very tired for a couple of days. Only physically tired though, I had no bother concentrating on my work.

AnnieJ1985 · 22/06/2021 07:08

So far my 2nd AZ experience is better than first time round, although my brain was raving all night and I had the weirdest dreams. I am pretty tired and my head is a bit fuzzy/sore but fingers crossed that is the worst of it! So glad to have it done, DH should be called any time soon for his 2nd Pfizer too.

LifeInAHamsterWheel · 22/06/2021 11:27

Great to hear of everyone getting double jabbed Grin DH is getting his second Pfizer today and I'm waiting to be called for mine so hopefully this time next week we'll both be enjoying all the benefits of being fully vaccinated ! Whatever they are!!

SecondRow · 22/06/2021 11:34

Happy jabs, everyone!

Is anyone planning on travelling... abroad Shock when they are all done?

Would love a week away in Oct but still a bit fearful of booking. I guess we will have to make a decision to take a chance, and hope that there won't be any restrictions at the time.
LifeInAHamsterWheel · 22/06/2021 13:21

I would give my right arm to go away somewhere warm later in the year and I believe there's some good bargains to be had, but I'm very nervous about booking anything. I'm not at all worried about catching covid, but the possibility of restrictions changing, maybe having to cancel at the last minute, having to isolate etc. its just too stressful, which is not conducive to a relaxing holiday! If I was retired I'd go like a shot. But with having to take time off work and get back to work afterwards etc. its just too much of a faff for us.

SecondRow · 22/06/2021 14:49

I heard yesterday David Navarro, the WHO special envoy telling Claire Byrne that transmission of the virus on a plane is now not thought to be much of a risk. The air filtration systems on aircraft are good apparently. But of course there's still the situations at airports where you can get crowds of people corralled into small spaces. So still advising caution.

I think the October half term is looking like the first time we might get on a plane back to Ireland.

Interesting that you had the same thing @MrsMaiselsRedCoat - well this time around I did sleep fairly well. Arm only a tiny bit sore today, although I have to say that could be down to the guy who jabbed me - he was the world's best vaccinator. I'd say I was in that chair for 30 secs max - didn't feel a thing.

eggandonion · 22/06/2021 16:34

I had a dream about being in an airport last night. It was claustrophobic, waiting in departures with loads of people. I never made it to the plane, I couldn't find my boarding card.
I don't mind flying, I don't mind airport shops and cafes, but I hate the tickets, printer not working, passport, queue, security, overhead locker bit.

Thesagacontinues · 24/06/2021 06:58

The registration is open for the 35 year olds today. Have they said if they are going to continue and move onto the 30 to 34 year olds tomorrow?

MissMaudSilver · 24/06/2021 12:04

That was the plan according to Irish Times last week. I haven't seen anything else about it though.

thelegohooverer · 24/06/2021 21:54

Got a vaccination booklet with the post today and it advised that if you’re fully vaccinated and a close contact of a positive covid case, then you don’t need to isolate or test. It seems a little presumptuous, particularly with stories filtering through of people getting the delta variant despite being vaccinated.

I don’t feel ready for the summer holidays. Most years I love having the dc home and have lots of plans, but after the lockdowns and homeschooling, I’m just a bit burnt out, and the thoughts that we could be having another surge in the Autumn is really knocking me flat.

We need investment in our hospitals and health service and it’s still not happening. I don’t mean to be all doom and gloom but I just can’t face another winter like the last one.

Please help me cheer up!!!

IsFuzzyBeagMise · 24/06/2021 22:51

Hi thelegohooverer, I wish I could say something to cheer you up! I'm not surprised to hear you're feeling a bit burnt out. I think many people are feeling the same. I can relate. I don't have much enthusiasm for anything either.

I'm looking forward to seeing the family in Dublin soon for the first time in nearly twelve months. It has been so long since we have met up. I refuse to even think about what might be around the corner in the Autumn and Winter. My mind is blanking it out!

LadyEloise · 25/06/2021 09:01

Was it you @thelegohooverer who was fined by the guards for travelling over the 5km limit to go to a religious ceremony for your dd ?
The priest had assured the poster it was fine to travel and insisted they go.
We were all indignant on your behalf.
If it was you did you appeal the ridiculous fine ?

Dreadful to think the Guards did not respond to many 999 calls, made by victims of domestic violence Sad

I think they need to reset their priorities Sad

eggandonion · 25/06/2021 11:04

Or was it Lipz had the priest issue?

thelegohooverer · 25/06/2021 14:02

Nope, not me! Smile

Thesagacontinues · 25/06/2021 15:02

They said they were opening registration one year a time for 35 to 39 year olds this week. The 35 year olds registered yesterday and it doesnt seem to have moved onto 34 year olds yet. I wonder if there will be a gap before they open registration for the next group. I am 31.

HaHaVeryBunny · 25/06/2021 16:44

@eggandonion l was with an out of date passport in Landsdown Road, yesterday, there was no problem about that, they just needed the text they sent me on my phone. Got the vaccine and all was fine, hope its the same for you too.

HaHaVeryBunny · 25/06/2021 16:57

Yeah my so called loving bro came up completely out of it... and he tried to take the car keys off me, he assaulted me and took the car keys

I rang the gaurds, not to report assault (what is the point anymore) but to give them the car reg. They never got back to me.

HaHaVeryBunny · 25/06/2021 17:14

@thelegohooverer

My cat has weed on a rug in protest every time we’ve had visitors (4 times now).

Thanks for the suggestion about Next. Smile

My beautiful cat had the same issue, Neutradol Fresh carpet cleaner that you can buy in Dealz is brilliant, the citrus one was the best :)
