I think I have gone back to work three times since the lockdown have come and gone, and click and collect went. I haven't been to work since Christmas Eve, and the hairdressers since early December. I will have to wear a headscarf if I go back to avoid scaring people.
We spent a night in a hotel last August, just when offaly etc closed down. It was fine. But late August we were in the north and it was becoming a bit scary, less masks and less distant.

JaneJeffer · 03/05/2021 17:57

Can we make hair scarves come back into style? Mind you it would get blown away today.

eggandonion · 03/05/2021 18:20

I'd wear mine knotted under the chin like her majesty.
It wasn't a great bank holiday Monday, I hope June is better Smile

JaneJeffer · 03/05/2021 18:24

I want to look like this

JaneJeffer · 03/05/2021 18:24

But would in reality look like this

MarDhea · 03/05/2021 18:57

Jane GrinGrin

LifeInAHamsterWheel · 03/05/2021 20:33

Jane Grin I think I'd resemble Peig more than Jackie O that's for sure.

So fed up with the weather though, haven't even gone out for a walk it's been so crap. Usually I cope by looking forward to my sun holiday but no chance of that again this year. Maybe we'll get a good summer here??

I'm so down this evening, my DD (11) has put all her toys in the attic! She has A LOT of Schleich horse stuff, stables and houses etc and a million horses. She says she just doesn't really play with them anymore. She did until very recently. I'm gutted! But trying not to show it. I have work tomorrow so can't even drown my sorrows now! Plus Line of Duty was crap! I should just go to bed and write this off as a shitty weekend!!

Bank Holidays are always such a disappointment. Like having an extra Sunday.

theDudesmummy · 03/05/2021 23:22

Crazy wind in the west

IsFuzzyBeagMise · 03/05/2021 23:50

Yes, what a fine November night for May!

I love the new look, Jane Grin you would need to tie a sturdy knot in it for the weather we're having!

CliffsofMohair · 04/05/2021 07:33

Peig 2021 would feature ‘up to the minute’ laments about the hardships of lockdown broadband on a small island.

eggandonion · 04/05/2021 09:07

I have a load of Sylvanian families and a load of Lego in the attic. Thankfully a load of leaving cert notes went in the recycling a couple of years ago.
My daughter has a big bag of cuddly toys that make me sad they peep out at me. I suspect I need grandchildren but they aren't going to appear any time soon.
It looks quite nice outside today, I had a breezy walk yesterday.

Yes. Peig's knot has the look of someone whose scarf has sailed off into the Atlantic one too many times.

@CliffsofMohair someone needs to write that Grin

JaneJeffer · 04/05/2021 10:14

Why is bold not working properly on the app these days? I think something is in bold but when I post it disappears.

BiddyPop · 04/05/2021 10:49

I need to make DD tidy out her clothes - she cannot make a decision so pulls everything out on the floor and then abandons them....so if I pull out things she definitely won't wear, at least she might find what she will more easily.

I've only been into the office twice since Christmas, but a couple of people who have difficulties WFH are in fairly frequently. I think it will be a good few months yet before there is pressure to go back in more often.

Thesagacontinues · 04/05/2021 18:59

If any toys have batteries in them, make sure to turn them off before storing them away. Otherwise theyll make noise at random times and scare the life out of you Grin.

My DS (7) is sick. He has a runny nose, red eyes and red cheeks so I probably need to keep him off school. He is like Monica from friends though and refuses to admit hes sick. He just keeps saying 'im not sick' even though you can hear in his voice that he is.

We'll be needing a new thread soon.

Anyone else really annoyed by big foreign companies coming in and buying up whole estates or apartment buildings to rent out ?
Why, with our housing market is this allowed by the government ?
I often sometimes think the government does more for big businesses than the people who elected them. Sad

It's shameful. It really is. Yes, it does seem that way, doesn't it, that the ordinary person hasn't a chance.

It doesn't seem fair to anyone, especially first time buyers. Money talks.
LadyEloise · 05/05/2021 18:08

I'm really cross about it and have phoned my local FF TD and left a message.
