Great post llady.
Too true we are letting the world and its wife fly in to Ireland, we are letting young fellas run riot on bikes and taunt the guards and no sanctions and yet Lipz gets fined €100 for trying to bring her disabled child to a meeting about Confirmation.
Sometimes I despair at the governance in this country.

Iblinkedandiamold · 23/02/2021 09:37

I wonder too if everyone at that attended the massive funerals got fined too. Pretty sure a lot of them were outside the 5k.
Janey it's wild out there the poor Ireland Am weatherman nearly got blown over.

JaneJeffer · 23/02/2021 13:50

@CherryValanc

I think it's time we moved Ireland nearer the equator. Maybe level with Spain - what do you think?
Yes like on List "we need to move the island".
JaneJeffer · 23/02/2021 13:50

*Lost - stupid autocorrect

CherryValanc · 23/02/2021 15:37

Exactly, they did it on Lost so it's doable.

I only think we need to go a little bit south - just want a bit of sun and heat

IsFuzzyBeagMise · 23/02/2021 16:08

Send help. Cork under water.

Grin
LadyEloise · 23/02/2021 16:12

Sun and heat you say ?

I'm in !

JaneJeffer · 23/02/2021 16:15

Could we have it on a pulley so when it gets too hot for some people we can move it back for a while. I personally love the heat. Why am I living here again?

Poor Cork. Something needs to be done about the flooding. It's ridiculous.

typicalvalues · 23/02/2021 16:21

@JaneJeffer

I'm not the most religious person From now on as far as this fine is concerned you need to pretend you're Mother Teresa. Your priest said it was essential so you took his word for it.
Hahahahahahaha
eggandonion · 23/02/2021 16:23

I went out with my dog this morning, after ten, it wasn't raining. it rained until ten, it rained after eleven. I was sure he'd decide not to go, but he must have sensed it was a strange break in the rain.
Surely this is he end of winter, spring must be coming.
I made a cake, we have eaten half already.

LifeInAHamsterWheel · 23/02/2021 17:28

Oh yes please to being closer to anywhere warmer. I found out this morning that a solicitor I know (just professionally not personally) has a house in the canaries and has been working there (remotely) since last year. Fair play to her but I'm so jealous!!
I cannot believe the weather again today after yesterday being so lovely.
Can't wait for Meehole's big announcement at 6 where he'll tell us everything we've already read or heard this past couple of weeks Hmm
DD has to do a baking activity for girl guides and I intend to eat all of whatever it is she bakes!!

CherryValanc · 23/02/2021 18:24

I like the pulley idea. Head South for a bit, long enough to let Cork dry out anyway.

I think I've cracked - got teary during Meehole's announcement- when he said "those who can work at home"

I am diagnosing myself officially with pandemic burnout.

IsFuzzyBeagMise · 23/02/2021 18:49

At least he said he was fed up! And there was no poetry.

eggandonion · 23/02/2021 19:33

I'm really cross about Astra zenica. I just want jabbed. Happy to go to the dentist or vet.

@IsFuzzyBeagMise

At least he said he was fed up! And there was no poetry.
Wasn't his presentation or even words. I just don't want to keep doing this.

Yes, me too @eggandonion, they are an utter joke.

geekaMaxima · 23/02/2021 19:57

Good news on the vaccine front today.

Iblinkedandiamold · 23/02/2021 20:56

Oh come on, still 5k?? So fed up of this now. I just want to go a little further for some nice walks that's all. It's not much to ask is it?
On a brighter note, my little ones will be back to me in March, I have sky much planned I cant wait while still being a little apprehensive about being in a room with 20 children and 2 other adults.

BiddyPop · 23/02/2021 21:31

Dh and I ranted at each other, and I cried, we both drank gin and forgot to cook dinner. Did anyone read the 60 page document that accompanied it? Last time it was an actual plan, this time it was a "aren't we so good we've done all this to support people and look at all the reasons we can't open up yet, but do ya think we need to tell you anything except how slow the schools will open up? You must be joking!!" disgrace of a thing.

We will give consideration on 5th April to considering the extension of the 5 km limit.

I will be literally 12 months since I saw my parents (for about 3 hours) by the time we're allowed move inter-county again.

Radyward · 23/02/2021 21:36

Just go Nd see your parents !! Enough is enough. If your parents are vaccinated soon,id be gone to see them. There is no road map!! No changes to schools.vaccination hopes !! Not v clear on vaccination numbers at all.hopes / might/ may/probable / possible . I cant take it anymore

BiddyPop · 23/02/2021 21:40

It would mean driving Dublin to Cork, on a weekend (as I'm still ft wfh). So I'd pass lots of checkpoints to get there... I pass 3 to get to work from suburb to city centre the days I need to go into the office. So apart from DPs being adamant about abiding by the rules this time (they're more worried about the variants than initial version), it's just not practical.

Joolsin · 23/02/2021 21:43

I quite liked MM's address. No grandstanding or excess waffle - hit the right note of acknowledging how fed up we all are. And those vaccination projection stats are encouraging. I hope the supplies keep matching up.

Iblinkedandiamold · 23/02/2021 21:46

I cant stop eating, I feel sick but still want more chocolate.
My parents are within my 5k but unfortunately they are not vaccinated so I cant see them and now i have to cook my own Sunday Dinner. Grin
I really miss hugs.

SionnachRua · 23/02/2021 23:02

Anyone remember my grumbling about hatred of One4All giftcards and how useless they are? I've just discovered that you can transfer the money into Revolut...still have to go €50 at a time but God it'll be nice actually spending that money now.

Iblinkedandiamold · 23/02/2021 23:28

I did not know that @SionnachRua. I actually love the one for all though. I usually spend mine or Woodies or Penny's, do you remember Penny's, back in the olden days, when we could travel more than 5k and buy clothes in actual shops. Remember that, you'd spend the day shopping and then get tea and a scone or a sandwich out. Ah the good old days.

halfpasteleven · 23/02/2021 23:35

And buy clothes in actual shops.

I miss feeling clothes before I try them on.
Trying to gauge colours from a screen.
Shoes are a nightmare !
