It's Patrick Street, @LadyEloise, according to a Cork person Grin

IsFuzzyBeagMise · 28/11/2020 10:17

Yes, Taytocrisps, I saw that. He would melt your heart, he is so sweet. I hope something will come out of it for him.

Taytocrisps · 28/11/2020 10:23

I was sure they were sending the train mad boy to Thomasland. The railway works at Inchicore isn't quite as exciting.

IsFuzzyBeagMise · 28/11/2020 11:17

I know! I thought the same!

LadyEloise · 28/11/2020 11:23

There's no N in Patrick Street - Pana - ???

7Days · 28/11/2020 11:36

That's Cork people for you!
They talk how they want, N or no N

7Days Grin

LadyEloise · 29/11/2020 09:25

I watched the LLTS - I had recorded it - it was great.
So many "melt your heart" moments.
Congratulations to all involved with it and especially Ryan, who is a brilliant host.

I loved the Fanta F*ck moment.
Replayed it a few times "to be sure, to be sure."
Yep- definitely!!! Grin

OMG the generosity (of the majority)
of Irish people - jaw dropping. More than €6 million raised.
Such big hearts. Thanks

I'm cross though that parents have to fundraise for good prosthetics and wheelchair. The cost of court cases for birth injuries must be massive. It's surely as efficient to get everyone the services they need.
All the kids were great, Polly Protestant the puppet was unusual!

It was fantastic they really made it special this year. Great work from the DC their joy puts things into perspective.
I think the youth of today are very compassionate mixing DC in mainstream the inclusive attitude in school has had a positive effect with understanding IMO.

My dd2 is 24, she has a proper job and does conference calls and gets expenses and stuff. She watched the entire toy show and loves the Den.
It's nice to have normality, and I think Ray should have stuck with Dustin and co.

Are people planning on going into shops tomorrow?
I'm not..
I'm still happy to buy and support local businesses either online or click and collect but I'm still uneasy about going into shops yet..
I have an item to return which involves going into a shopping centre and I'll do that at some stage but it will be a brief visit..
The virus hasn't gone away.

EmeraldShamrock · 30/11/2020 22:29

Are people planning on going into shops tomorrow? No I've to attend the dental hospital tomorrow in Trinity I'll walk there and get a taxi home. Im thinking of wearing a hazmat suit through the streets.
I'd imagine the queues will be crazy all this week.

IsFuzzyBeagMise · 30/11/2020 22:34

I'm not either. I'm just doing my usual grocery shopping and planning to shop online as much as possible for everything else.

TheKeatingFive · 30/11/2020 22:42

Not tomorrow, but I’ll be in Wednesday and planning some serious Christmas shopping on Friday. I’m quite excited.

I just can’t see that shopping is terribly high risk with masks and sanitiser and all that. I’m not a big fan of penny’s so won’t be anywhere terribly rammed.

thelegohooverer · 01/12/2020 00:42

I went out today so I can avoid any rush for the next few days. The only thing that I could really do with is some new pjs for ds- we’ve tried other brands but he’s not happy with them and he literally has holes in his far-too-small Penneys ones. I really wish they would go online.

gingercat02 · 01/12/2020 08:18

I will be in our local shops over the weekend, it's Small Shop Saturday this weekend. It's a kick back against Black Fridaymonth. I'm planning as much of my Christmas stuff as possible from independent.
Sadly DH wants running shoes which are rather specialist and DS is getting airpods so again online but at least we can try

IsFuzzyBeagMise · 01/12/2020 10:02

I am also going to prioritise small shops and businesses.

TakingTheLowRoad · 01/12/2020 10:10

People queuing outside Penny’s at 6am this morning. One lady said she’s had nothing to do over the lockdown, shopping is her life. I despair.

IsFuzzyBeagMise · 01/12/2020 17:04

Well, each to their own, I guess! I don't like shopping at the best of times and especially before Christmas.

eggandonion · 01/12/2020 17:53

I'm busy in work for most of December, so about this point I go to town, do a bit of shopping and have coffee and cake on my own in a nice cafe. I'm not doing it this year.
The cafes with outdoor seating near me are very busy just now .

I went into town this afternoon on the Luas - first time in since February. I was so excited, it was like a special occasion!! There were quite a lot of people around, but not crowds, I had no difficulty with social distancing. As I was heading home, it was almost dark, the air was crisp and cold and the lights of Grafton Street were beautiful. Loved it!

mrsfeatherbottom · 06/12/2020 08:51

What do you think the chances are that NI residents will be allowed to visit ROI relatives at Christmas? They are presumably waiting to see the numbers up here closer to the time and the numbers aren't coming down! They seem to have been stuck around 400-450 for weeks.

hopeishere · 06/12/2020 08:55

I think people will do whatever they want unless the police / guards are out patrolling - and that seems unlikely.

I'm in the north and I see a friend was straight down to Dublin this weekend because restaurants were open there. So she could go out for dinner and stay in a hotel. Pathetic.
