I don't believe it, would it ever go away!

Grin at looking after the zoo animals. Do they have alpacas? I've always found them very cute and it was save mowing the lawn.

eggandonion · 18/11/2020 16:27

It's difficult for parents if schools close too early, I remember some people working in banks and retail not being able to get time off for Carol services and nativity plays. Rota for Christmas is done well in advance, although goodness knows what is happening this year.
I don't want the tapirs, biting little brats. I'm closer to Fota, I will have a giraffe please.

Don't worry eggandonion childcare will still be open. No-one cares about us. 🙁 Mind you we cant even get enough people together to join a union.

eggandonion · 18/11/2020 20:23

I'll be working too.
Teachers aren't childcare as they love to point out.
Christmas is complicated enough without a pandemic!

So more restrictions being advised for Northern Ireland? Anyone see what they are i just seen Robin swann suggested it...

hopeishere · 18/11/2020 21:42

Possibly a curfew? Bars have to be seated only?

Covidcovidcovid · 18/11/2020 21:46

Is that the restrictions? Sure they were seated last Time too. So not too different

thelegohooverer · 18/11/2020 22:41

I’ll take the penguins. I’ve watched Mr Popper’s Penguins several (hundred) times with ds so I know what I’m doing

EmeraldShamrock · 18/11/2020 23:00

I'm not sure there are further restrictions on NI. It looks to open on Friday it is a terrifying time for those who are vulnerable.
I have family up there who have no choice but to go to work and send DC to school.
It is hard not to hate the DUP the old fashioned values are hard to swallow their underhanded behaviour throughout this is sickening.
I think it puts any chance of a united Ireland on the back bench.
Apologise for the rant.

EmeraldShamrock · 18/11/2020 23:01

On a happier note great work by all supporting Dublin zoo.

eggandonion · 19/11/2020 09:06

If rte ever do a nphet drama, who would you cast? Liam Neeson as Luke Oneill? Brendan Gleeson as dr Tony? Paul Mescal as Dr Ronan?
Not many parts for Amy Huberman.

Did anyone hear the Joe Duffy show today and the caller who rang in and spoke about the group off to Malaga on a Ryanair flight yesterday from Dublin airport, drinking in the bar at 8 am, getting on the flight, causing havoc, no masks, brought their own drink onboard, no social distancing, the pilot asking them to sit down. Apparently they were going to a celebration.

My blood was boiling listening.
Why was the bar in the airport open ?
Why weren't they spoken to by Dublin airport police ?
Why were they let on board ?
Why the hell weren't they arrested in Malaga for endangering other passengers and the crew ?

Selfish g*ts Sad

eggandonion · 19/11/2020 17:36

I read, possibly in the Sunday Times, that groups of people are buying cheap flights, going to the airport, eating a substantial meal, and having a few drinks. Then going home.
That's mad Ted.

Fucking fools. It reminds me of years ago, when people would buy a train ticket on Good Friday because the station bar was the only pub open.

On a lighter note - I'd watch that drama eggandonion.

Amy could be dr Glynns wife (whether he has one or not)
She could stand in a fancy kitchen looking concerned when Ronan comes home telling her Tony has a personal tragedy and he must carry the fate of the nation alone

eggandonion · 19/11/2020 20:52

I do worry about dr Tony and his family.
Amy is too old for Paul Mescall, dr Ronan needs recast. Paul can be a young researcher working on a vaccine.

Ni is reopening close contact services tomorrow and then closing them all and non essential retail next Friday for 2 weeks.. How does that make any sense!

eggandonion · 19/11/2020 21:38

It makes no sense, people from the north will head south once the shops reopen. Anything rather than a whole Island approach.

TheKeatingFive · 19/11/2020 21:40

I just read the NI thing. Of all the stupid moves since this thing started, this is the most bonkers.

So cafes and restaurants are opening for a week? And then closing again? Wtaf?

halfpasteleven · 19/11/2020 21:50

What is the logic behind this??

EmeraldShamrock · 19/11/2020 21:52

Yep NI is a joke.
The DUP insisted they'd re-use their veto it proves the power share can't work.
The comments from DUP Councillor blaming the pandemic on the abortion and gay marriage rights.
They'd have been better suited to Trump over Tories.
Someone needs to step in.

Covidcovidcovid · 19/11/2020 22:22

Apparently its too late to not let them open tomorrow- if only the dup had done what they were advised last week!!

EmeraldShamrock · 20/11/2020 07:54

NI to have a circuit breaker next week. I don't see a point in this.
They barely closed this time.

Nyancat · 20/11/2020 08:04

So all the shops open this week then closed the week after, that'll not cause total panic Christmas shopping this week and as soon as restrictions are lifted or anything. Absolute fucking clowns.

eggandonion · 20/11/2020 08:11

I love cafes, I love cake. I would love to go to one of my favourites. But not just now, north or south. I feel really sorry for all the people who work in hospitality. What a horrible year.

OP posts:
EmeraldShamrock · 20/11/2020 08:15

@Nyancat Most of the stores stayed open. It is pubs bars and restaurants hair and beauty who closed.
