Thank you @halfpasteleven! It looks fab but I’m looking for a bead shop , jewelry making supplier. I used to make jewelry so want to do it again!

I'd love to know who leaked to the Village newspaper about Leo's leak to Dr Maitiu O Tuathail re the GP contract.

I find the machinations of politics very interesting.

eggandonion · 08/11/2020 14:46

Vibes and Scribes in Cork does some jewellery/bead stuff. Do you think Dr Maitiu leaked the leak?

OP posts:
halfpasteleven · 08/11/2020 17:00

I don't think dr maithiu did the leaking as the texts don't show him in a very nice light...

eggandonion · 08/11/2020 18:45

Dr maithus ex?
Are you all watching the den?

It could be someone in FF who doesn't like the fact that LV is referred to as the Taoiseach even by the present Taoiseach Grin) or the fact that FF ministers had to resign because of the holier than thou stance taken by some in FG and the Greens.
It could be someone who dislikes Maitiú O Tuathaill.
It could be someone in the HSE or the Department of Health.
It could be someone in FG who thinks LV has got way too big for his boots.
They say a politician has no bigger enemy than their constituency running mate or a member of their party who wasn't selected to run in their constituency.
It could be someone in Sinn Féin or the other opposition parties, sick of the sight of him and his relative popularity in the handling of the pandemic.

There's quite a few suspects. Shock

16 deaths reported today.
That is a lot. Sad
May those that have died rest in peace.
My sympathy to the bereaved.

EmeraldShamrock · 11/11/2020 08:26

16 deaths is awful.
The deaths are increasing quickly all over Europe.
Still no decision on NI restrictions being eased. If the DUP succeed in blocking a further 14 day restriction the borders will need to be manged with gardai or army considering the state of infection in the border counties pre 2nd lockdown.

TheKeatingFive · 11/11/2020 08:32

The 16 deaths were notified ones though, some not from November. They didn’t all happen in the last 24 hours. The cases are coming down, so the deaths will drop too.

I’d like to hear more about the vaccine rollout here. Looks like the NHS are doing more to prepare than the HSE (from what’s in the media anyway).

eggandonion · 11/11/2020 11:21

I think I prefer a cautious approach to the vaccine than Boris sending in the army to vaccinate. I don't think there is going to be massive scale available by Christmas, just enough to make a start if approved.
Hopefully by next summer...

LadyEloise · 11/11/2020 12:37

I'd like if the HSE/Government gave us more information on the deaths to be honest.
The age and if the deceased had underlying conditions.
Is it true if you crash your car and are killed and also have Covid19 they will say the death was caused by Covid19 ?

eggandonion · 11/11/2020 15:06

That's the case in the uk. I think they gave more details last week, but broadly along the age and underlying conditions line.
The statistics from the north are shocking, especially the current infection rate in care home clients and staff.

OP posts:
eggandonion · 11/11/2020 15:17

I was trying to find the statistics in the north, they were on bbc news at lunchtime but I can't spot them online. 143 homes have outbreaks, that was the headline figure.

I heard we are being allocated 3.2 million vaccines, with people needing 2 doses I gather that halves the amount and what's living here? Just over 5 million? Or am I way off on our population 😂

I do hope that when considering the people for this vaccine that they prioritise those who need it and those who believe covid exists, I would be so angry if the likes of my sils got it, they're front line workers and they have been spouting their silly opinions to anyone who will listen about covid being fake and broke every rule possible.

I also hope the hospital doctors who think this is hyped up don't get in queue for it. Yes.... Imagine actual doctors who you'd assume would be more cautious basically saying covid isn't that bad. Dhs rheumatology team think that getting covid while on immunosuppression meds that you'll be fine, dds paediatrician who refused to do her a letter for school as she has serious underlying conditions and said sure all kids will get it at some point, the doctors who have told us to attend the appointment in crumlin otherwise wait 2 years for another appointment, Everyone has been doing virtual appointments. Car is off the road, so it's a 3 bus jobby 😭

I'm just so much more angrier this time round, everyone just seems so flippant about everything, I found myself in a situation yesterday where so many things went wrong, that I stood crying in a shop 😳😳😳😳😳😳😳😳😳😳😳, dear God I can never go in there again, so many people dismissing covid and the rules, so many people just generally pissing me off with "our numbers are low we've just about gotten rid of it" 🙄 no, it's still there, just less movement. Those who are having their weekend parties, which are now mid week too as they're off work.

And to top it all off one of our schools has 2 more cases this week, one child sent in ill 😠😠😠 on Thursday and had to be removed and now a close contact in the bubble has tested positive, I've a ds in this poxy bubble, there's 30 in the bubble, we've been told to send them in as normal and if they show signs to get them tested.

I need a holiday....

eggandonion · 11/11/2020 16:20

I think it is way more lax, people don't give way on footpaths or go single file, there is the usual amount of traffic everywhere, not just school traffic.
The Pfizer vaccine needs to be stored at very low temperature, so is probably best rolled out in settings where that can be achieved- care homes, big primary care centres, hospitals. I assume the more people who have it the better, no matter what they believe, if it isn't generally available immediately.
Hopefully one of the others will work too, and be more straight forward to use and store.
Its slightly hopeful at least.

Oh Lipz.Thanks
The stupid selfishness of my fellow citizens never ceases to amaze me.
The more we abide by the rules the quicker we'll be out of lockdown. Do they not get it ????
There'll be mad Christmas shopping in the various shopping centres once lockdown is lifted and we'll he back to square one lockdown again.

I agree we'll be back to square one after Christmas, I do think the government know this themselves and are a bit like we'll cross that bridge when we come to it.

It's just all so frustrating, everything... Small things are snowballing. I'm finding myself when talking to anyone that I'm sussing out their views first before saying anything, just in case they are complete covid idiots.

This is what it must be like living in the USA, one half complying and believing the scientists and the other half think it's a bit of flu.

I just met my neighbours chum who loves to chat, I don't even know her name. She chats in a confidential voice, which is not good if you are socially distant and rush hour traffic sloshing past!
