I'm a jogger @LadyEloise, I spent most my time running on the road to avoid people queuing outside the hardware shop. Grin

Mind you I only jog 2 or 3 days a week. I mean I dont want to over do it or anything.

Barbararara · 01/05/2020 19:09

No school until September.

Iblinkedandiamold · 01/05/2020 19:15

I wont be back at work until September, it'll be a long, long summer.
I wont see some of my children again either. Kinda feel like I was cheated out there. We got the announcement about the closing on the 12th half an hour before hometime. It was a rush to send thing home etc, never got to say a proper goodbye. Still it's not the bee all and end all just feeling a little emotional after the speech.

Dk20 · 01/05/2020 19:20

I watched about the first 15 mins then had to switch off. Saw the details for the next 2 weeks and 18th may.
The news is saying he detailed the 5 step plan but they havent detailed the 5 step plan. I cant see the it now anywhere on rte news app. Did he actually lost out the 5 stages?

Iblinkedandiamold · 01/05/2020 19:22

No he didnt but I saw a small snapshot of it, someone took a picture of an article I think and put it up on Facebook. There were dates and a little detail. I'll see if I can find it

Dk20 · 01/05/2020 19:23

Thanks @iblinked
I thought I was losing the plot there for a second, it has been a long week!

Iblinkedandiamold · 01/05/2020 19:29

It was an Irish times article.
8th of June cocooners can go shopping again and larger funerals are expected to be allowed to take place. You can meet 4 people not in your household inside or outside. Marts may reopen

29th of June PlayGround, cafes and restaurants may open
July 20th: Swimming pools and hairdressers may open
August 10th Theatres can reopen and late July or August Creche's may reopen.

Covid payment until june 8th

Now this isnt set in stone and it may change.

inisfree · 01/05/2020 19:30

Hopefully I have successfully pasted the roadmap

Hairdressers not opening until 20th July

Taytocrisps · 01/05/2020 19:34

Thanks @Iblinkedandiamold and @inisfree

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 01/05/2020 19:40

Irish Times article here

Coronavirus: Re-opening plan to begin on May 18th with outdoor staff return to work (via @IrishTimes) www.irishtimes.com/news/health/coronavirus-re-opening-plan-to-begin-on-may-18th-with-outdoor-staff-return-to-work-1.4242985

Dk20 · 01/05/2020 19:43

Thanks @Iblinkedandiamold and @inisfree, lots to take in there.
I'm wfh at the minute and as expected will be in the very last group to return to work.
At least I will be able to see my hairdresser before then Grin
Hopefully all will go well and there wont be any step backs.

Iblinkedandiamold · 01/05/2020 19:46

@inisfree thanks, that's brilliant.

inisfree · 01/05/2020 19:49

In a LDR and according to Leo et al we don't get to see each other until July 20th.

NewAccountForCorona · 01/05/2020 20:37

If pubs and clubs aren't going back until the end of all this (maybe September or later), but Covid payment finishes on 8th June, I'm fucked.

I had an argument the other day about Irish vs British "rules". I said Ireland were much stricter, and they are. In the UK (England anyway) loads of people are working - Amazon warehouses, B&Q, Ikea, gardeners, home maintenance, deliveries from all over the place, non-essential factories (cars etc). None of those are functioning here, but hopefully some (outdoor workers anyway) will be back in two weeks.

I think it's right to do it slowly, it's just financially a real worry.

NewAccountForCorona · 01/05/2020 20:53

Thanks Inisfree, I've read through that now. It's very clear so let's hope we can keep to it and don't have any unscheduled setbacks.

There doesn't seem to be anything about dates for travelling abroad? It looks like I won't see two of my kids for a long time Sad

7Days · 01/05/2020 22:49

He explained it all quite clearly on the Late Late.
Of course there are millions of wrinkles to be ironed out. And everyone is pissed off to whatever degree.
But I believe he is genuine in his desire to minimise deaths, with his doctors head on, and keen to minimise the impacts to the economy, with his politicians head. He has the education to understand the public health data, and the intelligence to put it all together.

But then Ryan asked him about forming the government and he turned back into a normal politician and now I'm anti FG again, just like the Before Times.
Shower of bastards!! Thank God for a glimmer of normality

peppersneezes000 · 02/05/2020 04:25

So upset here😟 my elderly parents live in Waterford & we're based in Monahan. We visit & stay monthly, I've been missing them so much & we had been looking forward so much to seeing them. Doesn't look as if we'll have any trip home this summer.. can't stop crying tonight. I just want to be with them😟

MindyStClaire · 02/05/2020 05:34

I'm due the first week in July. I live in NI, my parents are in Dublin. So now confirmed they won't meet the baby for a fortnight at best, and I assume some of those dates will be postponed. Sigh. We were figuring they wouldn't be able to come up, and were thinking of banning them for a fortnight anyway in case we brought it back from the hospital. But still. Gah.

MindyStClaire · 02/05/2020 05:36

Having moaned I have to say how good it is to see the details laid out like that. I think NI are to set out their roadmap next week, I hope it's as detailed but that creches open sooner.

peppersneezes000 · 02/05/2020 05:53

Yes it is good to have the framework. Fingers crossed the phases go according to plan & your parents will meet the baby quickly, it's very hard on all of us living in different parts of the country 😟 really only hit me tonight, I've spent all night crying
😟 Would give anything for a cup of tea with my mam

mineallmine · 02/05/2020 08:09

Good to have some clarity on things. Am I right then to think that we can't travel to a second home until after July 18th?

KayakingOnDown · 02/05/2020 09:28

Any mention of the Leaving Cert and when that will take place? Any secondary teachers in ROI on this thread? I'm intrigued as they originally said Leaving Cert would happen in July.

LadyEloise · 02/05/2020 09:46

I thought Leo said last night to Ryan Tubridy that it would be late July. and it was hoped that there would be classes in school before that.

NewAccountForCorona · 02/05/2020 09:49

Leaving cert is scheduled for July 29th. They are still hopeful there can be some face to face teaching before that but the details have to be worked out.

I suspect the teachers' unions will be very reluctant to ask teachers to work in the summer.
