Is it just me or was that an absolutely excellent speech
Wouldn't have always been his biggest fan but he and the government have shown real leadership with all of this.

I thought the speech was magical and he commands confidence in the way BJ never could

@SageRosemary, yes, I got the impression that the JC is off the cards too. I have a DS doing it this year, I'll not be mentioning this to him or he wouldn't do a bit of study !
But it's looking likely it'll be cancelled.
Wonder, will they be the year that didn't do the JC, or will they be year that did the JC in transition year ?
We will have to wait and see.

Not a fan but thought he came across very well. I thought his words were very personal and moving, i watched with my family and it felt like he was speaking directly to us.

SageRosemary · 18/03/2020 00:53

Well @Designerenvy, at least they mostly have the cushion of TY to get sorted, maybe in September or October, will be difficult in schools where they don't all get accommodated in TY but I suppose they can figure out streaming and subject choices from the Pre JC exams. The rest of the 2nd Year CBAs might get buried, no harm, they're such an additional burden.

Designerenvy · 18/03/2020 00:56

@SageRosemary, yes, they are lucky ( they might think that though Wink) to have that cushion .
Yeah, CBA's are a bit of a waste of time anyway, for all their worth in the end .

He kept my gaze throughout. He had such steady eye contact with the camera. Very powerful.

Happy St Patricks Day everyone x

I wouldn’t be a fan of Leo’s, but I have to say that his speech tonight was superb. Honest, reassuring and seemed to come from the heart.

LadyEloise · 18/03/2020 12:58

I too wouldn't be a fan of Leo but he did very well.
How proud his family must be of his statesmanship.
The acting government are doing a great job in these uncertain times.
What is going on in UK / NI ?
Their policy seems do different to ours.

gabsdot45 · 18/03/2020 18:47

I thought Leo's speech was excellent, he was great.
I loved the honesty. Its crap and will get worse, no need to pretend it won't.
I was glad he talked about getting our information from official sources and not to spread rumours.
It was very reassuring.
