Cots and beds

This topic is for discussing cots and beds. We've spent weeks researching and testing newborn beds in real homes with real families.

Is there a crib that's like a stokke but not a stokke (and less expensive!) or one you can recommend...?

We need a crib-sized cot to go next to the bed in a small room for the first few months (for later we have a cotbed, but because it's so much bigger we can only use that when baby moves into its own room).

I love the Stokke Sleepi and it would fit perfectly but a) it costs a bomb and b) we don't actually need something that expands and grows with your child as we have the cotbed.

I would love a basic, simple crib that's oval and wheeled like the stokke - or something else reasonably priced and nice. Ideally natural wood. Can anyone recommend one?
