Sky renewal £50 more than same deal for new customers

I’ve started picking apart my finances and my sky contract is due for renewal, I phoned them and the best deal they said they could give me was £130 which I am unwilling to pay. I’ve spent time looking and the exact same package for a new customer would be £83. I’ve been a customer for 18 years.

any tips on getting them to lower offers, else I’m going to have to cancel it all and move but we really need sky sports. Is there any other way to get sky sports so you can record it as well, that’s the only thing sky have that I absolutely need.

I have found it so complex to try and pick apart what you can get from where. Is that how they trap you by making it so complicated it’s not worth the hassle. I am absolutely fuming about the amount of money companies take for the same product and how pricing is so varied. I’m also looking at all our mobiles. I pay £30 for one of my dds phones and the other is £8 for exact same data and stuff. It’s madness.

We moved from sky to virgin because they wouldn't lower the renewal price.
Swapped over officially last week.
I'm happy with it, much faster than the sky q box.
I also don't get why you have to be able to record. Just go on the app?

I’m surprised they wouldn’t reduce it, but maybe when I called sky I got someone who just didn’t care what he gave customers!
We were given 3 months of sky cinema for free when we moved, but it didn’t auto cancel so when I called to cancel it and go back to our original package, they told me we could keep sky cinema, and reduced our price to below the original price that we had without cinema. Maybe it was his last day and he was just giving stuff away!

This happened to us. Our bill had crept up to £105 a month. A new customer could get all that for £50. They would not reduce the price to below £80.

I had also been a customer for years and years. I cancelled my contract and my husband took a new one out in his name 😂 Worked like a charm.

I used to have Sky with Sky Sport, TNT and Sky Movies. Now I get all of those with my Virgin Media package £47 cheaper oh and I get Netflix too. Just look at the Virgin Media package prices.

I can record on Virgin Media.

Sky don't want people to get Q now so most of the deals will be on stream and glass which they want people to go to, I'm not sure if you can easily get Q even, if you are a new customer
