I'll join in! Was planning to do a no-spend January as find the lead up to Christmas takes up so much time and mental energy thinking about what to buy (comparing prices, reading reviewed, returns etc) as well as money and a bit sick of it. Really feeling the need to break the consumer cycle, at least for a month!

I'll join in. Can't do January mind as its ds2's birthday 🤦‍♀️ I'm literally fed up of shopping, but as soon as I sort his birthday, I'm bypassing the darn shops 😅

I'm in! Not that I have much of a choice but I'm so aware that I can fritter away money without really thinking about it and need to be more accountable in general. And want to set more of an example to the kids.

I'm also planning to start on Jan 1st and transfer the pence in my online account into my savings so that my account balance is rounded up to the nearest pound/five pound mark. Then at the end of next year I'll see how much I managed to put into savings without really noticing it

I’m in. I’ve spent an excessive amount this December and need to stop the conspicuous consumerism.

I would like to join! For me, it won’t be a ‘NO’ spend, but I want to be more mindful and minimise the following:

a) things bought for my son - we go to charity shops a lot and Home Bargains but it all adds up and he’s got enough toys! So will try and avoid going in there.
b) top up food shops - you know when you pop in for bread and spend £30+ on god knows what!
c) we do like eating out but this has been budgeted for in our joint account money. However, I don’t actually know how much we spend on eating out, family days out etc., so will start to track it for a few months to see the average spend so I know if we need to cut back.

I’m hoping to get a promotion at work next month and will then sit down and re-examine my spreadsheet!

I’m keen to join!
I fell off the wagon last year but I’m so tired of so much stuff in the house and all that would be solved if I stopped buying it. Also tired of spending at all really.

I’ll join! There’s been way too much thoughtless spending lately. If I want anything it goes on my birthday or Christmas list. I’m also planning on selling a bunch of stuff that we don’t need to increase savings. Let’s do this 🥳

I will join!

Have a birthday at the end of Jan and one early Feb, but apart from those there should be no reason for me to spend on anything 🙄

I am going to start deleting/unsubscribing from all the emails I get.

I'm
Going to join. Got a few birthdays in Jan including my big 40 at the end of the month but going to try and do no spend as much as possible. Husband is out of work at the moment so not much choice in the matter anyway, but will feel better thinking it's a choice.

I'm joining in too please. We have 2 family birthdays in Jan, but apart from those I want to be as frugal as possible this year and pay off the cc debt that we keep transferring in between 0% cards.

Hello. I'd like to join too. Overspent on kids toys and hoping to move this year so any saving would help. Need to cut down shopping and grocery spending. Its hard as kids so fussy at eating.
