If you’re always freezing. Oodies are worth the money!

So, I’m one of those people that is constantly freezing. Always colder than everyone else! If I had my way I’d live with heating on 23/24.. perfect.

Obviously can’t afford that now and have seen all the hype about oodies but ignored. Had several cheaper ones over last couple of years.

Got a friend with a real one and always just eyed it up thinking it must be a pain to wash and take up entire machine.

Anyway, I caved and got one. Let me tell all my fellow ice cubes that they are absolutely worth the money.

They will almost make you sweat! They can warm you up and keep you warm when you thought it was impossible. They allow you to sit in rooms that are not warm and be relatively ok.

It is freezing cold here today and I’m not even cold! It’s a miracle.

I also think they should make black ones and a bit shorter that you could go to shop in etc. They are amazing but so massive they cannot pass for a fleece. They stand out too much as nightware.

They are very thick and heavy compared to the cheaper fleecy ones. They the outer is more velvety and doesn’t do that foul thing of matting up and being a magnet for things to stick to like cheap fleece does.

Truly, truly, I say to you, buy a real oodie ( or something you know is made exactly the same) and the winter will seem a little less daunting.

Probs get accused of working for oodie but if I can reach just one cold soul then I’ve done enough 😂

I got an oodie last winter and now all my family have them. If cost is an issue then I got real oodies with the labels removed from 5poundstuff.com for about £11. They are so much better than fake versions and we are all toasty warm now!

Roastpotatoesat3 · 30/11/2023 20:07

Just been to Tesco with my son and he had his on. He was sweating and said the milk aisle was heaven 😂

I fell asleep in mine last night 😂

(it’s ok I won’t die overheating in Scotland 😂)

sorrynotathome · 30/11/2023 20:20

I'm always cold and have poor circulation so I bought one of these things this year and it's fab. Not an Oodie though - I got it off a Facebook advert for £15 including postage but it's been a gamechanger.

ISeeTrees · 30/11/2023 20:24

I've got a Primark version that I love, but it is considerably thinner than the real deal. This works well for me because the real/thicker versions are just too heavy! They ache my back/shoulders to wear (and I can't imagine my washing machine would survive).
I'm after a thicker teddy fleece type one next I think.

Pineapplewaves · 30/11/2023 20:25

If anyone is thinking of buying a real "Oodie" you might not get it anytime soon. I ordered one weeks ago, it's not been dispatched yet and it's now sold out. If you look on social media hundreds of people have the same complaint, ordered weeks ago and haven't got their order, yet Oodie are still advertising and taking orders. Oodie are saying on their website that they are having issues dispatching items from their fulfilment centre. I'm wondering if they are about to go bust.

TheYearOfSmallThings · 30/11/2023 20:27

I'm tempted to get one, but how do you dry them after you wash them? 24 hours in the drier?

socks1107 · 30/11/2023 20:28

To dry hang over the bannister, dries over night here

Tomelette · 30/11/2023 20:33

Love mine. It was -2 here this morning, 14 degrees in the living room.

Put my oodie on and was feeling a bit sweaty after 20 minutes!

GeneCity · 30/11/2023 20:53

I know I'd be warm, but I'd also look like some version of the Michelin man, and I think the bulk would annoy me too much.

Troubledwords · 30/11/2023 20:54

Love mine, so tempted to get a second one for the time mine is being washed/dried.
Might see how long their current sale is on for. Not worried about the dispatch times as I know they always have slow times at this time of year.

BobBilby · 30/11/2023 20:58

24 hours in the airing cupboard dries mine

Kracken72 · 30/11/2023 20:59

Mine has just arrived this morning. I ordered it 21/11 so not too long to wait.

User1922 · 30/11/2023 21:03

I find the oodie too much personally so brought myself a oodie dressing gown it's snuggly but easier not to get too hot in for me.

SgtJuneAckland · 30/11/2023 21:05

I ordered ours on 09/11 and they still haven't been dispatched! I emailed and waited over a week for a generic we're having fulfilment centre issues type response. I'm freezing!!

mrsbyers · 30/11/2023 21:07

I find mine surprisingly comfortable in the summer too - especially for nights in the garden chatting

Eastmeetswest1 · 30/11/2023 21:16

We all have them after one of us got one last year. I ordered 2 more on the 23rd Nov and received them on the 27th Nov (beginning of this week). The e mail did warn of possible slow deliveries but super fast for us.

They cost £36 each including delivery which was a fraction of what I paid last year. Well worth it.

Tromso · 30/11/2023 22:26

I also love my Oodies. I am living in them at the minute!

I turned the heating off today at about 3pm, it's barely been above freezing all day and I'm in a cold house but as I type this, I'm really quite comfortable.

I never thought a product like this would actually work, I thought it would be nightmarish and uncomfortable, but I love it.

Would never go out in it though.

PaddingtonsHat · 30/11/2023 22:30

Love love love my oodie. Made so much difference last winter. Sherpa lined socks have also been a game changer.
Have now seen kudd.ly do a coat version and I am so tempted

RightOnTheEdge · 30/11/2023 22:33

Oodies were always way out of my budget and I thought the prices were ridiculous.

My mum bought me one as a surprise last Christmas and I have totally changed my mind! It is so much more than I expected. I can see why they are expensive now. I absolutely love mine ❤️

AnyFucker · 30/11/2023 22:36

Honestly, these are cheap as chips and very, very toasty and comfortable

If you’re always freezing. Oodies are worth the money!
dishwasherquestion · 30/11/2023 23:06

they are warm but I find the cuffs really annoying and too long and elasticated.

I also find it so enormous that it is generally annoying for anything other than times when you are really freezing - sub-zero temps outside or that cold shivvery cold you get when you are ill and really tired. in those cases they are awesome and very very cosy.

day to day - the size and warm of them are just annoying.

ProudThrilledHappy · 30/11/2023 23:10

Anyone considering an oodie should search for the Oodie Delivery Times thread- I’m at nearly 4 weeks since ordering with no despatch showing and no answers to my two emails (excepting the auto responses stating first not to expect a reply for 6 days and then for the second not to expect a reply for 10 days). Some people are now reporting receiving them within a week of ordering while other customers are having no response or despatch. Really poor service, I’ve now done a dispute through my credit card and reordered from Snuggz for £25 each and got a despatch email from Snuggz a day later

TheYearOfSmallThings · 30/11/2023 20:27

I'm tempted to get one, but how do you dry them after you wash them? 24 hours in the drier?

Never thought of washing it. I only wear it indoors, on top of other clothes. How would it get dirty?!

terraced · 01/12/2023 06:29

We've having renovations done so there's no heating. I work outside so really need to warm up when I'm home. Bought a men's one from sainsburys (they seemed more robust than the women's ones) and it's lush! It's keeping me warm.
