Who else wants the heating back on?

I know there will be lots of posters who just have it permanently set to 18 or whatever but after 2 mornings of waking up hot last week I turned mine off ... so near to putting it back on again - where's spring this year?

I've put mine back on auto far to cold off a morning my dd was freezing playing in her room today so it went back on.

elm26 · 22/04/2023 00:49

Had mine off for a week, set to 17 and it clicked back on this evening.

Can't wait until warm spring actually comes!

enkol · 22/04/2023 00:49

Mine hasn’t been off yet! Mornings are ok now but evenings are still chilly.

MilkshakeEarthquake · 22/04/2023 00:50

Mines on but I have a cold house

HeddaGarbled · 22/04/2023 00:52

I’ve just had it on for an hour in the morning and half an hour before bedtime today and yesterday.

MenoRageisReal · 22/04/2023 00:54

Still have mine on for an hour in the evening as it definitely gets uncomfortably chilly once the sun has gone and the curtains are closed.

Think I might need to turn it back on but at a lower setting... too cold to get up and do it now though Confused

Stuck it on for a half hour this morning to take the chill out of the air. It's not been on since and it's 19 degrees in the sitting room right now.

Topseyt123 · 22/04/2023 01:27

I haven't turned it off. It's set at 18⁰ and just kicks in occasionally and for a short time.

whiteroseredrose · 22/04/2023 02:46

Me! blooming freezing WFH today but I can't work the new heating controller so had blankets instead.

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 22/04/2023 04:02

Our house is always bloody freezing (old house plus gets no sun) so ours isn't fully off yet. We're on LPG so trying to keep heating to a minimum as another full tank will be around £500-600.

We have a baby so need to have the heating on more than if it was just adults here. The toddler never feels the cold though.

We have a 1hr boost setting so only ever use that and have TRVs so it only comes on in rooms we need. It's set to 17 at night in our bedroom where baby sleeps and is still coming on regularly 😣.

Today I went over to check on my gran's house. The heating has been off since she died in December and the house wasn't even cold (Victorian terrace). Made me realise how much money my big cold house is costing me and we're not even comfortably warm with the heating on 😓.

GasPanic · 22/04/2023 13:29

No, started using it less from probably the middle of March.

After end of March is a no no. Mine will not come on again until November.

xogossipgirlxo · 22/04/2023 13:50

I put mine back on, I hate damp towels.

Ours is back on - it’s 10 degrees here with a cold wind, so feels much colder. The house was not warm and so I put the heating on - we can afford it luckily, so I feel no guilt.

simbobs · 22/04/2023 14:19

I don't switch mine to Summer Mode until June or July. It's on 7-8am and 5.30 to 10pm unless the temperature is higher than 18°, which it sometime s is. I don't think you can do it by calendar. You have to respond to the actual weather.

catskittens · 22/04/2023 23:03

mine is on every morning 6-8am and 2-3hrs in the evening ive more pr less given up trying to cut back once this cold spell finishes im hoping i can reduce it

DanceMonster · 22/04/2023 23:08

If it’s cold it’s cold, it doesn’t matter what the calendar says! Mine never goes off completely because if it’s below a certain temperature I want it on, irrespective of what month it is.

NewBootsAndRanty · 22/04/2023 23:09

It's going to reach below zero here in a couple of days. Heating still on w/ a thermostat timer.

catskittens · 22/04/2023 23:14

i just dont understand the logic about its march so the hearing goes of till november

common sense tells me the heating goes on when cold and the heating is reduced or off when it feels warm

Willmafrockfit · 22/04/2023 23:16

Currently I do but I am glued to my seat watching a film

Silentbarking · 23/04/2023 12:40

I fucking hate England. We should be compensated for living here. 6 months of cold, dark weather, lighter days but it’s now 23rd April and it’s damp, raining and cold. So sick of it.

enkol · 23/04/2023 12:52

QueefQueen80s · 23/04/2023 14:35
