I can't afford Clinique anymore

Can you please recommend cheap but good alternatives to Clinique moisturiser and cleanser. I simply can't afford Clinique anymore. Has to be hypoallergenic. Thanks.

Simple?

Although it might depend why you liked Clinique. Their moisturiser is brilliant and I don’t think the Simple ones compare, but the cleanser is renowned for being quite harsh so you might find the Simple one very mild in comparison.

Nivea cleanser/toner combined is good value and as it’s combined you only need one bottle.
it’s good for combination skin, not sure if you have dryer skin

MsChatterbox · 20/01/2023 20:29

Nivea soft (the white tub) is amazing! My mum switched to it after 20 years using clinique and loves it. Then got me onto it and I love it too.

MsChatterbox · 20/01/2023 20:29

The cleanser I use is a tesco brand. Kind & pure fragrance free cleansing face wash. Love it.

maximist · 20/01/2023 20:32

Micellar Water is a brilliant and cheap cleanser - if I've had make up on (which isn't often!) I'll use it to remove the make up and then use some more on a clean pad to finish off.

Polarbearyfairy · 20/01/2023 20:34

Which Clinique cleanser and moisturiser specifically?

Lordofthebutterfloofs · 20/01/2023 20:35

The ordinary

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 20/01/2023 20:36

Nivea

APurpleSquirrel · 20/01/2023 20:40

Aldi Q10 moisturisers are really good.

Squirrelsnut · 20/01/2023 20:42

Aveeno moisturisers are lovely. Ditto Nivea Soft.
Body Shop camomile cleansing balm is really good.

CriticalAlert · 20/01/2023 20:43

Thanks for all your replies. I have dry sensitive skin. Used Clinique Take the Day Off cleanser, yellow miracle moisturizer for day, and super rich night cream. My skin was beautiful.

Superdrug sensitive skin products are good

enjoyingscience · 20/01/2023 20:44

Marks and Spencer own brand beauty is fantastic - their pure cleaner is brilliant and just as good as the Clinique foaming cleaners. If you use the balm, I’d swap for super facialist oil, which emulsifies well.

for moisturiser, which one do you use? Boots do a basic hyaluronic acid moisturiser for £6 which is a bit like the gel one, or againM&S Formula range is great for moisturiser - both day and night cream.

NoraVanDoogle · 20/01/2023 20:44

Superdrug vitamin E range…
the smell of the spray on moisturiser 👌🏼

enjoyingscience · 20/01/2023 20:45

Crossed posts - def swap for M&S Formula night cream then - it is brilliant.

coralgeo · 20/01/2023 20:51

Boots own brand fragrance free. The moisturiser is £1.50. No SPF in it though

pampermouse · 20/01/2023 20:51

I'm in the same boat OP! Seconding the Superdrug recommendation - I switched to the Vitamin E hot cloth cleanser about 5 years ago and haven't looked back. I've switched all my skincare to high street stuff over the last year (after a lot of research - have a look at the skincare threads in S&B, they're great for suggestions) and my skin has never looked better! I do an AM cleanse with Cerave cleanser, and follow with Hada Labo Hyaluronic acid, Nivea Soft and Garnier SPF. Evening routine is Superfacialist cleansing oil to get makeup off, followed by Superdrug vitamin E hot cloth cleanser, then Tret (Skin & Me) followed by Nivea Soft or Nivea blue pot.

Definitelysometime · 20/01/2023 20:53

The Body Shop camomile cleanser is a lot like Clinique TTDO, imo. Get it in the sale, or get a membership card for regular deals.

Woolandwonder · 20/01/2023 20:55

Body shop camomile cleanser. One tin lasts me forever.

TomAllenWife · 20/01/2023 20:57

How much is the moisturiser?

I had some for Xmas but I don't normally use Clinique

Closetbeanmuncher · 20/01/2023 21:10

Try CeraVe

Closetbeanmuncher · 20/01/2023 21:11

Posted too soon….

Their line is hypoallergenic and fragrance free.

M&S own brand was just Clarins - don't know if it still is....

yoshiblue · 20/01/2023 21:13

I like Sukin, I like their sensitive range and also like their ageless range for older skin.

dontdillydallytoolong · 20/01/2023 21:13

L’Oréal revitalift filler night is amazing. I have super allergic skin and usually get breakouts with moisturiser but this is fantastic, only about £13.00. I can only use the night version as the spf in the day one irritates my skin. I have tried many other moisturisers and this is the best.
