Can you please recommend cheap but good alternatives to Clinique moisturiser and cleanser. I simply can't afford Clinique anymore. Has to be hypoallergenic. Thanks.

Having once fallen to the charms of Chanel and Dior , I have to say that Olay was the best moisturiser for me.
Trouble is , the ordinary Beauty Fluid became difficult to find but Olay's more expensive products were always available and quite pricey.

I happened upon 'Source of Nature' at Sainsbury's and it's the best. It's sinks in nicely, not greasy and feels lovely. It's also vegan and I'm not a vegan.( not that it matters.)
It's also cheap.

I buy mine from eBay. You can usually get it cheaper. I look for the cheapest buy it now rather than bidding

Facetheory!

Another Vote for M&S Pure range. I like the day cream (spf15) and night cream. Tried both the radiance and the hydrate versions and both are great. I also like the face wash as I prefer a wash to a balm (they do a few types of cleanser and all seem good). I’m totally converted from my previous ‘premium’ beauty stuff like Estée Lauder, Clinique etc which I always used to use (pre kids!).

The Cetaphil gentle cleanser is excellent, I use it in the evening and wash off with a flannel.

Cerave is great too, I use their PM moisturiser (morning and night) and their SA cleanser a couple of times a week.

I also like Nivea Crème (blue tub) as a moisturiser in the winter. It's quite rich but doesn't clog your pores at all, it's great if you have dry skin.

Clean and clear range is good . Superdrug sells it.

hellosunshineagainxxx · 20/01/2023 22:39

I' surprised you can use clinique if you have sensitive skin. Cosrx are a Korean brand, I have sensitive dry skin and swear by them

uncomfortablydumb53 · 20/01/2023 22:40

CeraVe

Turmerictolly · 20/01/2023 22:48

For dry sensitive skin- La Roche Posay Baume

IDontWantToBeAPie · 20/01/2023 22:59

Try Inkey List

Recommend Aldi Cavier day and night moisturisers. About £8 each - they're fantastic.

DumpedByText · 20/01/2023 23:22

I love expensive skin products and makeup but I'm on a budget. I've been using Tropic and it's amazing, not cheap cheap but they do a whole set, cleanser toner, a mask and moisturiser for £66 and it last ages. I'd say it's better than Clinique to.

FontSnob · 20/01/2023 23:28

The Ordinary. Follow Caroline Hirons on socials or her website. Loads of brilliant recommendations.

Sugargliderwombat · 20/01/2023 23:30

Surprised not to see the ordinary here , unless I have missed it.

Anoisagusaris · 20/01/2023 23:43

I don’t rate the yellow Clinique moisturiser at all for dry skin (but love their Moisture Surge range).

I use Dr Hauschka Quince Cream and nothing beats it.

Tropic is very expensive for what it is (it’s also MLM which is an exploitative and unethical business model).

The Body Shop camomile balm is a dupe for TTDO also CeraVe cleanser and Moisturiser are excellent. I have the same type of skin as you.

whiteonesugar · 21/01/2023 00:05

I use take the day off too, but the ordinary squalane cleanser is just as good. In fact ill
be buying that when my current tub runs out.

I’m also switching over to no7 night cream
and just ordered their day cream to use when my Clinique moisture surge runs out. I got a deal on a set of 5 products which includes a full sized night cream and day cream, oil, eye cream and serum for £49, they often do offers i believe.

goingback · 21/01/2023 00:13

another vote for the ordinary, but just as guilty of buying baby creams from Aveeno, Johnsons or Childs farm

louderthan · 21/01/2023 00:13

I have previously used Clinique and have found Simple to be a good replacement.

louderthan · 21/01/2023 00:15

Simple cleansing oil is the best I've ever tried, even better than take the day off.

Jimmyneutronsforehead · 21/01/2023 00:17

Literally vegetable glycerin for moisturiser and clearasil cleansing wipes.

Nat6999 · 21/01/2023 00:20

I use No7 now, it isn't as harsh as Clinique

louderthan · 21/01/2023 00:20

I can't be bothered to faff with moisturiser and separate SPF and the best I've found is Gruum dad my defence. Online only but not expensive.

Nivea soft (the white tub) is amazing! My mum switched to it after 20 years using clinique and loves it. Then got me onto it and I love it too.

This, I used Clinique and Jurlique and have swopped to this. The money I have saved is incredible.
