I can't afford Clinique anymore

Can you please recommend cheap but good alternatives to Clinique moisturiser and cleanser. I simply can't afford Clinique anymore. Has to be hypoallergenic. Thanks.

Oh and a new moisturiser I’ve found is Weleda Skin Food it’s 👌🏼
about £9 so not reallly cheap but a little goes a long way x

Flossiemoss · 20/01/2023 21:17

Another one for M&S own brand. I swapped from ester Lauder and have dry sensitive skin. Not sure I’ll go back even if I could afford it now.

Tippletoomany · 20/01/2023 21:26

the ordinary, cerave or the inkey list. all dead cheap and only have ingredients they need, also the ordinary and inkey list are made in the UK and cruelty free!

Cerave

Body Shop Vit C or Body Shop Carrot cream. Both hard to get hold of, got the carrot cream for over the winter on Amazon. The Vit C was out of stock, this one has a 50spf so hopeful they'll get this back in soon.

Depending on budget I've also used the ranges from Lidl and Aldi. But prefer the Body Shop. If I run out I can tell in days, my skin is duller. I used to use Clinque too.

Body shop camomile cleanser. One tin lasts me forever.

This is fantastic stuff.

I also swear by Cerave cream cleanser and their day moisturiser with SPF.

Nivea soft (the white tub) is amazing! My mum switched to it after 20 years using clinique and loves it. Then got me onto it and I love it too.

I’ve used it religiously since I was 11!

Lincolnforever · 20/01/2023 21:29

Cerave - I but the big 473ml pump bottles - one cleanser, one moisturiser. Last 6mths+

Cuppasoupmonster · 20/01/2023 21:29

Aveeno too, great for the hydration factor without being tacky.

jtaeapa · 20/01/2023 21:30

I don’t use anything other than honey baby soap - and that’s when I’m in the shower. I think skin care is an expensive con. I’m post menopausal so no spring chicken.

3luckystars · 20/01/2023 21:31

Boots no. 7 brand is excellent, it’s really good quality cleanser and the moisturiser is lovely too, it’s called ‘renew’ and comes in a pot. It’s hypoallergenic. I have similar skin to yours and am very impressed with it. They have 3 for 2 at the moment and vouchers also.

What kind of price are your Clinique products?

savethewales · 20/01/2023 21:31

What is the name of the M&S own brand stuff?

I second this. I use skin food light which is still really rich. Often on offer in Boots/amazon

3luckystars · 20/01/2023 21:33

I also agree the Nivea in the white tub is the best of all. My friend worked for a plastic surgeon years ago and he said that was the best of the whole lot.

Lincolnforever · 20/01/2023 21:34

Im also a big fan of True skincare. Really lovely ingredients, well priced and smells divine. The rosehip oil is my night time routine.

ChicCroissant · 20/01/2023 21:39

I use a Soap and Glory cleanser instead of the Clinique one now, loved the bar soap and tried their liquid cleanser - now I use the S&G Face Soap and Clarity to wash with. I am also using the S&G Peaches and Clean to remove my makeup, but it can sting a little on my cheeks.

I use blue-tin Nivea, I like the Nivea Soft but it brings me out in a rash on my neck (it's fine on my body). My neck is the bit of skin most likely to get blotchy with skincare!

Hope you can find something OP.

Rosesandteacups · 20/01/2023 21:41

The ordinary squalane cleanser is good or the body shop camomile cleanser in a tin is similar to the oil one from clinique

Shitfather · 20/01/2023 21:42

Have you scoured eBay for Clinique items? I’ve bought some amazing bargains for high end makeup. Not sure if ever pay full price if I can find it on eBay.

Pandorapitstop · 20/01/2023 21:43

Cerave

Dugs2010 · 20/01/2023 21:43

Cerave, amazing. Have changed family and friends to it now!

littleburn · 20/01/2023 21:45

CereVe (cleanser and moisturisers) is great for sensitive skin and brilliant quality.

whirlyswirly · 20/01/2023 21:45

I switched to no 7 for skincare years ago because I realised I like it as much as Clinique but it's a fraction of the cost. I stock up at Christmas when they have offers on the gift sets. It's saved me a fortune.

ChicoryDip · 20/01/2023 21:54

I swapped from Clarins to M&S Pure range during lockdown when we were skint and have never gone back. I'd find it hard now to justify spending £££ on moisturiser when my skin is just as good.

JufusMum · 20/01/2023 21:58

The ordinary squalane cleansers and their ha factors moisturiser x

lurchermummy · 20/01/2023 22:15

Wierdly Primark do a good cleaning balm which is like a dupe of Take the Day Off, I actually preferred it.
