For anyone with Octopus, how easy are they to get hold of if you need to?

I've only just signed up but seems good so far. I have a contact and I can email them and get a reply.

Thank you. Do all customers get an email address they can contact? And what about smart meters? We already have one but Octopus says it may or may not work if we switch to them.

SpringMeadows I needed to ask them about something so filled in the contact form, and now I am in email contact with the person who answered. I don't think you get allocated one as such, but if you need to interact with someone you can. (Not sure if that's true by phone though.)

As for smart meters, I want one but no supplier has ever been able to do it, they never say why, they just take one look and go um, er, don't think we can do this and then never do. So I don't hold out much hope that Octopus will. I'm switching more because e.on were so crap.

We are with Scottish Power and they are saying we are on the cheapest tariff. Which is horribly dear. But they did provide us with a smart meter.

Recently switched from EDF (like a lot in this thread) mainly to get onto the EV tariff which is (or was!) the best on the market. Absolutely no complaints and the switch literally took 3 or 4 days

If anyone is thinking of switching to Octopus, I’ve been with them for ages and they’ve been great.

They are taking on new customers and even if you can’t get a fixed deal with them until you have switched if you try to do it online, it’s worth knowing that a friend of mine rang them and they agreed to put them straight onto a fixed tariff.

And if you give them this code as well you and I will get £100 split between us, so £50 credited to each of our accounts as soon as the switch has gone through.
