Not much really on the statement for us. To be expected

This is a frugal service announcement read your meters before or on 31 March

Unescorted · 24/03/2022 06:54

The statement did nothing for us either. It is blatant in buying votes in 2024 with the timing of the tax cuts. I am pleased to see that being called out.

Mrs that looks beautiful. I am hoping the nice weather lasts the weekend so I can go out and get some vit D.

Life thank you for the reminder.... I have put it in my work diary. Advantage of wfh

My Bro goes back to Oz today - back to daily calls from my mum.

After posting that yesterday dd tested positive this morning.
I filled my diesel car yesterday evening €81.77, it used to cost €50. I drive a 1.6l engine.

Today's spends €50 play therapy, should have paid childminder €37.50 but they weren't there, this can be reduced to €25 because she had a household member waiting on a pcr result and offered to me to keep them away

Mrsmadevans · 24/03/2022 20:42

Evening everyone Smile
NSD for me today yay and about time Hmm
Unescorted sorry your Bro is returning to Oz you and your Mum wil miss him l bet, hope you get beautiful weather this weekend too , forecast is looking good for the weekend , fingers crossed Flowers
Happier hope your Dd is ok bless her Flowers it was beautiful there , been lovely weather again here managed to dry a lineful again today , love it ! Nothing like line dried washing Smile

Unescorted · 25/03/2022 06:20

Happier hope she isn't too poorly.

I need some NSDs. DS was quite restrained - I didn't give him a shoe budget just said to call me when he found a pair & I would transfer the money. £40 was all it cost.

Thanks goodness it is Friday..... I am off to have dinner with a friend this evening. We are having al fresco pizza.

Sounds lovely unescorted
I need a nsd too but food shopping needs done

Happierwithouthim · 25/03/2022 07:45

Unescorted you trained him well
Pizza al fresco sounds beautiful

I got very strong Canadian bread flour from Tesco so I'm planning on making pizza dough today. Must do a repair job on my mixer bowl first the base that fits into stand came away from bowl so I need to superglue that first so I can let it knead by itself

Happierwithouthim · 25/03/2022 09:52

My bank balance was quite low by my new post separation standards during the week & I hadn't reconciled my spends while I was on holidays yet.
Today though I thought maintenance had gone in twice & when I filtered my transactions it turns out it never went in last week with the two bank holidays
For me that's great because I didn't overspend massively while I was away but I'm quietly amused because ex will get a land when he checks his account Grin

Wolfcub · 25/03/2022 17:36

£44 dog first aid kit, I swear I spend more on ddog than on anything else. I also need a couple of specific bits of kit which will be £££

lifelongfrugaleer · 25/03/2022 19:06

Oh no
Is puppy hurt wolf or is it a just in case

Unescorted · 25/03/2022 19:31

8Woolf* poor hound.

I was stood up Sad so had pizza with the boys instead. I will have lunch with my friend next week instead.

I am finding a 68% hydration dough just about perfect for the ooni. Roll on the summer.

Only 3.5 work days until year end & then I can sit back & relax for a few weeks. It has been relentless this week.

I still don't have a delivery date for the new washing machine so I am going have another go at fixing the old one. I will also ring for a refund.

Wolfcub · 25/03/2022 19:44

No dog not hurt this is a sensible preparedness measure like having a snow shovel and snack bars and spare warm stuff in my car.

CurlsandCurves · 25/03/2022 21:05

@Happierwithouthim how’s your daughter feeling? And sorry but your repair job story 😆

I’m kind of back in the land of the living. Well, I hope I am. Definitely feeling better today. Covid has not been a pleasant experience. And I’m regretting spending a bit last weekend because this months pay packet is now not going to be as good as I thought. But still ending the month in credit so yay for that.

Tomorrow is spendy but DH is footing it. DS1 is having earwax removal (nice) and the boys are getting haircuts. Mothers day gifts and cards all bought and ready for DH to deliver, his gran is almost 91 so I’m staying well away!

Happierwithouthim · 25/03/2022 22:07

Curls she's got aches and pains but is managing with calpol fastmelts & bronchostop at the moment. I'm going downhill too but tested negative half an hour ago.

Mother's Day won't feature here unless I remind them I'd say!

lifelongfrugaleer · 26/03/2022 07:26

That’s good then wolf
Oooo pizza
Hope you get over what ever it is happier
Pleased you are back curls

£115 sainsburys but £20 on flowers for dm and mil

Fell off thread. But checking in!

Taytocrisps · 26/03/2022 12:18

Morning everyone,

another gorgeous day here. I need to get moving shortly and get some washing on and clean the kitchen. My sister is calling in soon.

I brought DCats to the vet for their annual vaccination earlier and to pick up worming tablets/flea treatment etc. Total cost €149.50. They said they'd give me a 10% discount 'cos I have two cats. I had budgeted for it and I can afford it but I wonder how many people will have to cancel pet insurance and cut out things like vaccinations due to rising costs. DCat2 got car sick and pooped everywhere so I'll have to hold off on giving her breakfast next time.

I also spent €18.22 in Lidl and €10.49 in my local shop.

I'm loving the gorgeous weather but the office has been like a sauna all week. The air con is controlled centrally and we don't have any windows we can open. It made for a very uncomfortable working environment. I was only wearing a light shirt but it was so warm, I could feel sweat on the back of my neck and my palms were warm and sweaty (sorry, TMI). I e-mailed them and asked them to lower the temperature but I didn't notice any difference. It will probably be freezing next week when the temperature drops again. But if it's too cold, I can put on layers whereas I can't do anything if it's too warm.

Tomorrow I'm going to pick up supplies for a collection for Ukrainian refugees who have arrived in Ireland. DD has kindly volunteered to come for a walk with me as it's Mothers Day (she hates walking so this is a big sacrifice on her part Grin). Then we're going for food to a local restaurant.

ememem84 · 26/03/2022 13:47

£40 riding today.

That’s it. Zoo later but we have out membership so already paid for

Mrsmadevans · 26/03/2022 17:23

Spends today, 20 Morrisons
Tayto that is so kind of you to take supplies for the Ukrainian people in Ireland 💐
There are lots of fund raisers here too , so glad everyone is pulling together ❤️
Happy Mother's Day tomorrow everyone 💐😊

northender · 26/03/2022 17:27

Just read back through thread to catch up. Have been awol this week as life was just crazy busy. We are going on holiday, all being well, next Sunday so I am trying to get up to date as much as I can in work so I am able to fully switch off. Same goes for study really, I have my next assignment due on May 2nd so I need to get as much done as I can this week so it's manageable for the 2 weeks I'll have when we get back.
To top it all off I've been organising a Dinner dance type event for the cricket club & that was pretty stressful. Anyway, it was last night & went really well so I can relax about that now.
Ds is moving on through the recruitment process for his placement year, but has lots of assignment deadlines coming up

Not much frugality to report as we are having to spend a fair bit on holiday stuff. Trying desperately to avoid covid now. Took mum out for lunch today, haven't done much else as feeling a little fragile after last night.
Won £50 with a £5 free bet

Mrsmadevans · 26/03/2022 17:34

Yay North that's brilliant , you can concentrate on your holiday prep and your assignment now the dinner dance is out of the way Smile
I forgot to show you my handiwork yesterday . Dd2 & l put up her Pax wardrobes , it was so hard at first but we managed to do it without killing each other Grin

Good job mrs but it looks a bit empty. Maybe dd forgot her clothes……or is she a minimalist…?! 😂

Went to zoo this afternoon. Kids were ace.

Mrsmadevans · 26/03/2022 19:13

Thanks you Em 🤣
That's only Dd2 Winter clothes 🤣
It's so lovely to hear you had a great day with your Dc bless them 😊🌻
