em sounds like a better night, but gosh you must be exhausted
We have found a local anti food waste scheme where volunteers collect fresh fridge items dated for that day (fruit, veg, salad mainly) from all the local supermarkets and then give boxes away to stop it going to waste. I’ve signed up to volunteer for them, as I think it’s a great idea.
We got the following for free: huge punnet of tomatoes, two leeks, butternut squash, bag of baby new potatoes, green beans, head of broccoli, shallots, parsley, basil, mint, coriander, a packet of croissants.
They also had bread from the bakery sections which I think must be chucked each day but we had just filled the freezer with several loaves so we didn’t take any.
I planned the weeks food around this and spent £35 in Lidl to get the rest we needed.
Quite a change from our usual £120-150 shops each week (we aren’t drinking booze right now which does help).
