@lifelongfrugaleer

I need someone to do that for me and put them Into groups.
I’d love to be a professional organiser. Anyone else’s stuff = easy. My own....not so much.

Watched the show though. Loved it. And I do have a soft spot for Stacey. Also did you see her bunny trainers?!?!

If live to be a minimalist. But sadly I’m a clutter bug. Maybe I could be a minimalist who has nice things with a function.

northender · 09/04/2021 06:46

It must really grate to be shelling out so much on the solicitor wolf, but will be worth it.
Good luck with the next ivf stage Gen sending lots of positive vibes your way
unescorted have not been keeping up properly, didn't realise your work situation was so bad. Good that you have Union involved. I was a rep for 10 years but it never leaves you.
snuggly thankfully we've had other things to do when the whose house programme has been on, otherwise we'd have been sucked in again.
Work is incredibly intense and draining at the moment, but not as horribly stressful as it was. Cooking is usually my stress reliever, but I've found this week really hard to motivate myself. Last night gave myself a talking to and made myself cook a delish modified carbonara, then went and signed up for a half price trial of Gousto! 4 meals for 4 adults, delivered Tuesday, that's next week pretty sorted. £25 & we'll cook a meal each. I'll use the "spare" time to meal plan for afterwards & to get back to the gym, need to get a routine back.
Is anyone else feeling strangely nervous/anxious about the opening up? Not anxious about covid, but just a general loss of confidence in social situations, it will feel so strange now.

Wolfcub · 09/04/2021 08:15

Gen I've got all my fingers and toes crossed for you

North, I know what you mean in fact we've been talking about it at work. I'm introverted at the best of times, after a year in lockdown I'm positively a hermit. The idea of being out in public with other people is making me feel quite anxious

Em I'd love to do that for people. I'd be really strict though and make them bin loads of stuff

Hope dd is ok Life

OP posts:
lifelongfrugaleer · 09/04/2021 08:22

DD is fine. A long soak in the bath and PJs helped. Bruises to hand but will be ok

Me too em. I can be super ruthless for someone else but my own, nope.

Good luck gen. X

Pleased things are getting better North, you got this.
Yy unescorted a good union rep is worth their weight. Flowers

Bornlazy · 09/04/2021 08:52

north I'm the same. I don't like change, so for all I'm desperate for a more normal life back I kind of wish that we could forward fast this bit to the bit where we are all established in our new routine.

I'm glad your job is a bit better, though intense and draining doesn't sound great. It's hard to motivate yourself when you feel like your job is sucking the life out of you. Fingers crossed it is less intense soon.

Unescorted that's great that the union are supporting you. It's still an extra stress you could do without.

Mrs poor Bob 😨 That's so awful. Some people are just scum. I've met people like that and they don't think they've done anything wrong . In their eyes they can justify their actions and go through life without feeling any guilt. I hope she gets her comeuppance!

Gen good luck today. I'll keep everything crossed for you 🤞

Onwards welcome back.

I still seem to be spending a lot of money on food (online) which is further complicated by ordering for my mother and my aunt who then pay me in cash. I end up with lots of money in my purse but not a lot in my account. I realise that I could just go to the bank and deposit it but I'm way to lazy for that.

I need to watch that decluttering programme. I'd love to be a minimalist life is much easier if you don't need to wade through mountains of crap to find what you're looking for. I really need to join one of the housekeeping/decluttering threads on here to motivate me.

Has everyone run down their Brexit/covid stash? I've still got quite a lot of mine and I'm not sure as it approaches it's best before date whether to use it and be done with it or to replace it.

ememem84 · 09/04/2021 08:56

born we ran out of pasta!!!! We had a ton. But it’s all gone now.

lifelongfrugaleer · 09/04/2021 09:04

I've used all mine but im running down to move house. If it's coming to bb date use it and you can always replace some.

I'm not fussed about going out but we didn't really stay in due to work, shopping and ep care.
People really can't drive ATM thought that's really noticeable now the roads are busy. Or my town is just full of dicks.
I'm not looking forward to the long commute days though

SingToTheSky · 09/04/2021 10:26

Mrs I’m so sorry about what happened with Bob. Can’t believe people can be so selfish and nasty!

North I get you. In a way I’m desperate for normality but there’s an underlying “omg I have forgotten how to be around people”. To some extent even being out of the house has become unusual for me 😳 I was sort of undecided about how closely to follow the shielding advice (I was one of the ones to get it in Feb for gestational diabetes and a lot of women were apparently told not to worry too much about that) but then had a flare up anyway so ended up staying home most of the time.

I’m quite glad DS has some HE activities to book up now as it’ll mean I get to see other mums a bit. £23 today for the first three social meets and a forest school trial. Will book parkour (£8) too. There is a block booking option for that - 10 for £72 - but want to see how he gets on for a couple of weeks first.

I’m glad I’m looking for work now as I think I’d have fared better with a part time job throughout the last year. But I’m so, so nervous about trying to fit in somewhere new 😳 not exactly my strong point even pre covid TBH 😂

Wolfcub · 09/04/2021 11:20

£1200 mortgage application. Bloody expensive work this divorce none-sense.

SnugglySnerd · 09/04/2021 12:07

Welcome back Onwards.

lifelongfrugaleer · 09/04/2021 12:33

Jesus wolf, that's steep, fingers crossed

Unescorted · 09/04/2021 13:09

Cheers North & Born - the union have been great. They give me pep talks each morning. Monday the fight back begins. Until then I just have one more meeting to get through.

wolf mortgages are so expensive to arrange. You are nearly there now.

I am looking forward to being able to see people. I worry people will take the easing up as permission to stand too close to me. I will be giving the shops and pubs a miss until it all calms down.

Lovemaltesers · 09/04/2021 14:48

We had a nice little trip out. I wanted to go to the bank to sort my name change, so did that and then walked down to the beach. DC loved playing on the beach and the sun shone (still huddled in our coats though). Takeaways were doing a roaring trade but we resisted.

I had my first “are you related to Mr X” conversation. Now I know how DH feels about his/our name!

Cancelled our May half term holiday Sad and got £150 (50%) refund. I could have held on and got a 100% voucher for next year, but as this was part of a cheap and cheerful holiday originally for last year, we don’t necessarily want to do that holiday next year. Fortunately we’d never got as far as booking the ferry etc so only a small amount paid out to lose.

Lovemaltesers · 09/04/2021 14:49

Flowers unescorted sounds like a tough time

Ouch on the mortgage application wolf

Mrsmadevans · 09/04/2021 15:36

Wolf this time last year it was 1k for Dd to loan 67k Hmm and they wanted her to put it on the mortgage , so she would have been paying interest on an extra 1k for 25 years! shipsandgiggles · 09/04/2021 20:05

Hiya everyone! Super busy few days. DS was really clingy and grumpy yesterday, his teeth are coming through so I wasn’t able to get much done. Today I took the DC to the local park, made some skincare/cleaning/makeup products that I had run out of, finished all of my notes for my course and started a draft for my assignment. I’m back to work on Monday, so I need to spend the weekend getting my shit together. I’m feeling a bit run down too, so letting DH do bath time tonight. Looked out our window earlier and a little duck was peering in😂 there’s a few eggs around here now and we had our first ducklings not long ago. DD likes to check on them every morning!

un I was like your DD, I’m the first grandchild on both sides and only grandchild on my mums side, I was very spoiled as a child😂. It is great having the littlest DC, lots and lots of hand me downs.

mrs my hands are definitely full! Currently both DC are in nursery and I work part time, straight after work I pick them up and also have to balance my course on the side. I don’t want to wish time away at all, but I am looking forward to a bit of a break when they’re at school😂.

I’m also feeling quite anxious north, I’m not sure if I’ll be able to tolerate being in social situations anymore. Lots of friends are asking to meet up and seem to watch to plan something for most days, but I’d be drained! I’ve got a bit too comfortable in my own company.

Sorry to had to cancel your holiday life!

gen good luck for today, I hope it went well❤️

NSD

Unescorted · 09/04/2021 21:15

wolf 18th May is opening day for Bridgewater Gardens.
love sad news about the holiday. I can't book anything because I don't want the hope to be taken away.

We are watching a lovely documentary about the artist James Morrison on iplayer - "Eye of the Storm" it and his work is amazing. If you want a break from other TV fare tonight I can recommend.

Wolfcub · 10/04/2021 09:54

Excellent Unescorted, time to start planning a trip perhaps

OP posts:
Unescorted · 10/04/2021 09:56

I think that would be an excellent plan wolf

Wolfcub · 10/04/2021 14:38

Today's birdcount lapwings, terns, wheatear, Reed bunting, red necked grebe, tufted duck

OP posts:
SnugglySnerd · 10/04/2021 15:27

We saw tufted ducks today too at the lake we often visit. They are so sweet. The dcs were very excited to see a coot sitting on her nest!
I added a chaffinch to my list this week, although they ate fairly common we don't really seem to get them round here so I was pleased to see it packing up the crumbs on a picnic bench in the park!
Would love to have all the birds you have though Wolf.

Getting a takeaway later using my £25 premium bonds win from a few weeks ago.

Wolfcub · 10/04/2021 15:27

Black necked green not red necked.

OP posts:
Unescorted · 10/04/2021 16:05

I went up to see M&D - they are looking frail. It lightens the mood when I visit, so now we are all vaccinated I will go more often.

Theirs is great for birds -today were Red Kite (they have expanded their range from Chatsworth way) buzzard, blue tits, magpies, pheasants, and what looked like a whinchat - but I am not certain.

Today feels like one of those 70's / 80's wet Sunday afternoons. The joy has been sucked out of it and the colour contrast turned down.

lifelongfrugaleer · 10/04/2021 16:57

Pigeon and magpie. Lots of Magpies

£11 as my turn for the waffle van. £20 ish later takeaway as DD I a&e and she froze the chicken.
