I need alone time at times. This is why a supermarket has appeal at times.
Good on the progress love. Hope your DM is slowly coming round to it.

New house doesn't have a dish washer. I can feel a cupboard coming out.

Gensola · 06/02/2021 08:18

snuggly I go for walks while DH is on calls for work with my headphones, listen to a podcast and/or have a bath - usually get about 40 mins that way. When he is working in term time he does an evening duty once a week from 6-930pm and I enjoy just pottering about and watching trashy shows about diets or saving money!

Wolfcub · 06/02/2021 08:22

Love that's great news. Hopefully the nurses can keep on top of it and you're mum realises interfering is a bad thing
I wish I could sleep in. Ds isn't even here and I can't get past about 6.30 and a few wake ups in the night. I want a lie in (throws tantrum)

Will probably wander into town later and go to the farmers market. Had takeaway last night which was not as nice as I wanted it to be

Need to consider weather for picking ds up Sunday, we are due snow starting then and stbexh's new place is right on the tops

Unescorted - would love to hear more about university expenses. DS will also be doing a creative course, so what sort of additional costs is your daughter incurring? What kind of food budget does she have (have you attempted such a thing with her? I am always trying to have 'teachable moments' with DS on cooking and budgeting, not sure it really goes in!).

Looking after the house and family finances is pretty much my full-time job these days, and I am not trying to juggle work, home, homeschooling , caring for older relatives as many are on here. So I can give rein to my obsession with budgeting, planning, etc at the moment. I probably need to get more of a life really, but this is keeping me happy for now!

Painted my nails while watching The Dig last night. The interiors of the house where it was shot are gorgeous, and Carey Mulligan's wardrobe mouthwatering! Recommend it if you are searching for something cosy and uplifting to watch.

Wolfcub · 06/02/2021 10:59

Spendy morning £125 on two rolls of wallpaper. I know it's not frugal! However it should have been £150 (she says trying to justify it)

£5 farmers market
£4 bakery
£35 florists but will get that back as ordering for someone else

Back on flood watch again, water in the stream and down the fields has risen about half a foot in the last hour. I really hate rain

Waiting for dm's birthday present to arrive and hoping it's ok. Grit bin I ordered a week ago just arrived and is fab. Don't know why I didn't get one earlier

AmberItsACertainty · 06/02/2021 12:53

Mrsmad that's about half what I'd pay for the same shop Shock. Think I'll have to consider switching to Lidl when the pandemic is over. It's likely too busy at the moment being close to town centre. Current supermarket is out on the edge and social distancing is super easy due to low numbers of people.

Tightwad thanks for The Dig recommendation. Cozy and uplifting is just what I need right now.

Peanut I hope you have a better day today without all the tantrums.

I was watching a YouTube video of someone clearing out their closet last night and it's inspired me. I'm not going to tackle the whole thing but I might have a go at one drawer.
It's a lovely day here so I want to get outside for a while too. I'm in the habit of staying in for days at a time but I think I need more daylight.

SnugglySnerd · 06/02/2021 13:12

I hope you don't get any more flooding Wolf.

Happierwithouthim · 06/02/2021 13:45

MIA but not gone on spending spree much Grin all budgeted HaloStar

Amber fresh air & vitamin d prescribed for you

Wolf will they spark joy?
Life after a year without a dishwasher I'd recommend taking a cupboard out. There was space for one in rental and plumbing but I'd have had to unpack my Delph and I didn't think I'd be here so long. In new house dishwasher will have to wait until I build on utility so probably summer before I'll have one again.

Love great news about your dad

Snuggly this was me on thurs night, I've got phone calls all day at work and dc were play fighting all evening, I nearly lost my mind. They were at their dads last night though so I got my quiet time.

Life that deposit is super cheap! We pay a months rent as deposit here.

Unescorted · 06/02/2021 14:59

Love that is good news about the pills kicking in for your DDad.

Wolf I hate that will it won't type of snow watch weather. How far from a main road is it... In all but the worst weather the ploughs and gritters keep all but the Woodhead and the Snake open over the very top of the tops. The roads going off the main ones is another matter. As soon as snow is forecast here everyone parks on the flat-ish bit and is extra nice to the farmers, the4x4 garage and the mountain rescue.

I have been for a lovely walk with my friend.... I took flapjack and coffee so a NS outing. Now off for a bath to warm up b/c it was sleety and horrid horizontal rain. Very muddy too....

Fearofawelshplanet · 06/02/2021 18:00

Wolf - fingers crossed no more flooding..
Peanut - hope today has been better..
Mrs- it was rather but I have rewarded my self by doing my surveys and being a pirate down the co op Grin

Happierwithouthim · 06/02/2021 18:06

@Wolfcub

Happier where is the letterbox and or cat/dog flap in relation to the thumb lock ?
I don't remember wolf
Wolfcub · 06/02/2021 18:19

I might wait to decide then Happier. I wouldn't want a thumb lock that could be reached and turned by an arm or twisted piece of wire from outside.
