£9.45 in lidl, I need to walk straight home form work. Saved £3 on pot noodles for lunch pack for teenagers while I am at work and another£3 on hairspray cos lidl hair spray is easily as good as Elnett but a fraction of the price. So not all bad.

maddenlightfoot · 02/02/2021 17:13

Oh life why??? Fucks sake. What are your options... still sell and rent somewhere? Do you think you'll find something else quickly?

I've got lots of scenarios worked out in my head for various situations as until I've got the keys I'm expecting the worst. For us, because going through surveys etc has been a slog, I think we'd still sell and try and rent somewhere whilst we looked for something else (although this would be £££ in our area. The only friends or family near enough who have room and would happily take us in are still a 45minute drive away in a good day)
Really hope you work through it tonight. What utter bastards!!!!!

Mrsmadevans · 02/02/2021 17:16

Been Mia yesterday due to my second cousin dying from Covid. He'd been on a ventilator in the Grange Hospital in Llanfrechfa . Bless his heart he was a real gentleman . We shared great grandparents and we went to school together. He was only 59, my age . Fit & healthy did martial arts no underlying health conditions and walked miles every day in his job as a postie . It's really cruel this virus . I am thinking the world has gone mad tbh . Anyway l have been to MumBobs in a brighter note Mum's 89th birthday today which she thoroughly enjoyed Busy getting it all organised but worth it inth eend she really enjoyed it and was very happy Smile
Fear totally agree re the lidl hairspray v Elmett . My Mum has them bith and there is no viible difference tbh! Smile
Spent 20 in Tesco today , car tax 30 , brake pads, discs & MOT 255 Hmm needs must though!

Mrsmadevans · 02/02/2021 18:47

How do you feel about renting ? Would it be a really bad move for you or would it take the pressure off ?

Wolfcub · 02/02/2021 19:11

Frugal dinner - leftover sausage casserole from yesterday, only one sausage each but plenty beans, veg and sauce so served with baked potato and yorkies to pad it out

I would rather be moving into my big semi with a lovely garden but hey. I'm pissed off at having to move to a less desirable area of town but it's only for 6 months

lifelongfrugaleer · 02/02/2021 19:31

Gensola · 02/02/2021 21:40

Really sorry about your cousin mrs and sorry about the house life we had two bitter disappointments and wasted some money before we actually managed to buy. the process in this country is insane - someone needs to sort it out.

NSD today - DH was making cottage pie and realised we were out of potato but I persuaded him to use butternut squash instead which was low carb and we already had it so no shops. Will need to get fruit tomorrow.
em I had a right chuckle at if you’re happy and you know it get your willy out. I’m not teaching that one to DH as it will give him ideas Grin

Mrsmadevans · 02/02/2021 21:56

AHH thank you Gen so kind of everyone to be so supportive Smile

Mrsmadevans · 02/02/2021 21:57

The cottage pie sounds delicious too !

Mrsmadevans · 02/02/2021 22:13

Have been trying to sort out car insurance for my Dd1 , she has nothing in the way of NCB . I have tweaked and tweaked and finally got it down to 393 with Admiral. There were stupid quotes for £800 before l set to on the price comparison sites. So things that helped bring it down were having my Dh & myself as a named driver, putting in a low annual mileage, basically telling the truth but tweak, tweak, tweak, making sure l didn't leave it too late for a good quote & l used all the price comparison websites . It took quite a while but l am really happy with the result. Smile
Our car also needed brake pads & discs replacing & an MOT so l rang around a few places and discovered that our local ATS were more expensive than the one 12 miles away and by as much as 50 pounds for exactly the same jobs! We pass the garage to go to my Mum & Bobs nearly every day so we won't be breaking lockdown thankfully but l was amazed how the same garage chain can differ in prices !

Mrsmadevans · 02/02/2021 22:18

It's an expensive week this week , 393 car ins & 255 Friday but it has to be done!
I also bought Dh for his birthday Only fools & horses presentation pack of stamps to be deliver for his birthday next week , he loves stamps and Only fools and will love them, 11.95 with postage he will love them l know Smile
I better shift to bed have a good night sleep everyone Smile

PeanutButtaCups · 03/02/2021 01:42

Another late one, my sleeping pattern in all over the shop lately. I’m barely getting any sleep, my acid reflux/heartburn gets really bad around this time of the night and wakes me up, I’m struggling to get comfortable with the bump too, but I suppose it’s preparing me for the lack of sleep soon!. There’s loads of snow predicted from the weekend onwards, I’m stressing about it slightly as I have an antenatal appointment next week, I don’t drive so was banking on public transport being up and running to get to it, so hopefully the snow isn’t too bad. I’ve tried to get a fair bit done today, kept on top of cleaning the house and organised places for the new baby’s things. We also did ice painting, which was really fun!.

em that one way system sounds very frustrating and not logical at all! Sorry DH has been annoying today☹️. Your sons version of happy and you know it is so funny😂

I’m so sorry to hear about your cousin mrs💐

life I’m so sorry about the house, it sounds so frustrating!

NSD

lifelongfrugaleer · 03/02/2021 07:04

I love happy and you know it ds style.
Wait until you get moon and stars are out.....
Annoying one way system

Sorry you can't sleep peanut. Are you able to take anything for the acid? Re the snow it might not be as bad as predict, wait and see.

You are right Mrs. It's quite stressful. But will be able to negotiate hard. That is spendy but well done in perseverance.

Nsd planned today

ememem84 · 03/02/2021 07:30

Shops open here today. And our one way system is now in place and the comments on Facebook are hilarious. It’s not like people won’t do the socially distanced thing. But it’s more that they are sick of being treated like children.

We’ve also been told that we have to keep masks on in the fresh air in town too.

Mrsmadevans · 03/02/2021 08:12

Good God Em masks in the open air as well. We haven't been told that here afaik ! Although our shops are not open so who knows what they will say when they do open them . I think It's ridiculous tbh re being in a shop and them having non essential stock off limits. I know it's not fair on the indie shops but l have been paying a fortune for birthday cards on Moonpig and thoughtful and card factory 🙄
Moan over 😊
Peanut thank you 🤗
Can you take Gaviscon? I used to live on it 25 yes ago when l had my Dd2 🤗 acid reflux is Pants!
Life you will have good weather to spend the 6 months in this rented house , who knows you may have a great time being unfettered with any obligation to this house 🏡 wishing you the greatest of luck. Perhaps look on it as an adventure l know that is a bit of an ask bless you am trying to find some good in it for you 🤗
I actually found the searching quite cathartic to keep my brain fixated on a task in hand it reallhels the. Keep occupied in times of stress and empty turmoil l find at least it works for me 🤗!
