I think we have ‘levels’, it’s all so confusing I struggle to keep up with it all.

em oh I’d love a coffee machine like that! It sounds brilliant. Your DS sounds really cute.

sing I’d just assume you have the same results as your DS, it’s frustrating though isn’t it.

NSD today, but will be a big ship soon as I need to buy Christmas food. DS1 also needs some new pyjamas as he’s getting quite tall. I’m drained today, DS2 isn’t sleeping much at all, I’m hoping it’s just 4 month sleep regression because I can’t cope much more. DD and DS1 are over excited and it’s causing lots of arguments here. And FIL isn’t happy that we aren’t going to his for Christmas. I love Christmas but it’s such a stress this year.

SingToTheSky · 15/12/2020 23:41

£20 on DVDs for me (feels weird to buy them now we have Netflix!)
That’s it other than the tesco shop.

Girliefriendlikespuppies · 16/12/2020 08:47

Hi all have not kept up again, sorry!!

I'm jumping back on as I have £26 to last until Christmas Eve (payday) 😬 it should be okay as I've got lots of food in, Christmas shopping is done and there's petrol in the car!!

Today I'm meeting a friend for a coffee so that shouldn't be more than £5 and I need to pick up a few bits for the work Christmas 'meeting' next week again should be no more than £5.

I need to work out how many stamps I've got but am only posting around 9 cards this year and hoping I've got a few stamps kicking about.

ememem84 · 16/12/2020 09:05

today i have to go to the post office and post christmas cards - so that'll about a million pounds.

depending on the queue (its in local coop) i may also stop and grab some things to make a Pannetone. although not done this before, and not sure how hard it is...

lifelongfrugaleer · 16/12/2020 09:21

Don't worry girlie just pop in and out.
I made pantone one year. It was my Christmas offensive weapon Grin
It's not hard as it's sweet bread but by god mine didn't rise

Mrsmadevans · 16/12/2020 09:27

Morning everyone 😀
18 in my local discount store for Honest coffees for Dd2 , 2.99 for 12 😃
Hope everyone is ok and have a lovely day everyone 😀

Gensola · 16/12/2020 09:44

We are off to a minibreak in a countryside hotel for our anniversary, will be nice to get away and we have prepaid for room, dinner and breakfast deal so we won’t have to spend much extra.
Worried now about the news in case they stop people going to NI for Christmas. My mum really wants me there after losing my brother in August Sad it will be such a blow if we can’t go back.

ememem84 · 16/12/2020 10:10

Gen i really really hope you manage to get back ok. can you go any earlier? (and are you currently wfh? if so can you just go and work from mums? - take laptop too just in case you get stuck...)

Happierwithouthim · 16/12/2020 11:49

em these ones were bean to cup I suppose that was the difference but sure you can get grinders for very little money.

€83 on christmas tree lights, ours are missing, and I did want to change them for my new house anyhow. I got 700 for €55 as I just couldn't bring myself to spend €99 on 1000 set!

Just discovered a budgeting account I'm following on instagram is someone from my home village, she'd be maybe 3 years older than me!

ememem84 · 16/12/2020 12:10

my food shop hasn't arrived yet. so this means no lunchtime walk to the post office for me yet. i think they close at 230. but not sure. sigh.

sods law the minute i leave the house they will arrive.

Unescorted · 16/12/2020 13:41

Our drier finally arrived this morning - clean clothes for us. Handily it only cost the same as my net monthly pay uplift.

gen fingers crossed for you and your mum.

life £26 eeeekkkk Although given the choice I would prefer to be paid on the 24th rather than have a 6 week month in January.

5 more days and it starts getting lighter. I cannot wait.

food shop arrived. wahooooo

Girliefriendlikespuppies · 16/12/2020 16:14

Friend treated me to a coffee so cost nothing, I also managed to find 5 stamps and only need another 5 so that's a small win as well!!

My next door neighbours are moving on Friday 🙁 they're good neighbours so I'm quite sad about it really. Really hoping the new neighbours are nice.... 🤞🏻

ememem84 · 16/12/2020 16:50

£4 something at post office and then £28 at coop - i went in for chocolate and came back with chocolate, plus stain remover, washing up liquid and eggs.

Mrsmadevans · 16/12/2020 23:02

Girlie l have been recycling stamps Xmas Grin NDN had a card in the post that the stamp hadn't been used so l took it off and stuck it on mine Xmas Grin
Spent 11 in Aldi pizzas trolls & tins of tuna for Bobbos cat Xmas Grin

Taytocrisps · 16/12/2020 23:20

Spendy day today - I picked up some last minutes presents. I got a fancy reed diffuser for half-price - reduced from €30 to €15. The scent is really nice (well, in so far as I could sniff it with my mask on Grin). It's for a guy at work and the diffuser is in a black box so it looks more masculine iykwim.

Most of my parcels have arrived. I think I'm just waiting on one now, for Ex (from DD). I won't be too upset if that's late!

I haven't done any Christmas grocery shopping yet, with the exception of two tubs of chocolates. I'll do that next week. I'm cooking dinner on St. Stephen's Day (what you call Boxing Day), so I need to work out a menu.

I'm at the stage now that I'm panicking that I'm forgetting something (this happens every year). I'm off tomorrow so I'm going to sit down and make some lists. I also want to take out DD's gifts and check if I've enough bits and bobs for her Christmas stocking. If not, I might pick up some slipper socks to bulk it out.

I'm meeting a friend for breakfast tomorrow morning so I'm looking forward to a catch up. I haven't seen her since before the last lockdown. We're out of lockdown now until early January.

Taytocrisps · 16/12/2020 23:29

Gensola I'm assuming you've been following the news re NI. Things sound very serious there. I've cut and pasted this extract from RTE - "At one point outside Antrim Area Hospital, 17 ambulances containing patients were lined up outside the ED and doctors were treating patients in the car park." I can understand why your Mum wants you home though, especially after the loss of your brother just a few months ago.

SingToTheSky · 17/12/2020 00:05

NSD here, no test result yet. Finished my assignment and wrapped some presents and did laundry, that’s about it. Quite liking being stuck home for the moment but I still want to know when we can leave the house 😳

ememem84 · 17/12/2020 07:04

Morning all. Dd essentially slept through. She woke up at 11 but dh was coming to bed then so he gave her the dummy back. She woke up at 645.

We’re downstairs now she’s had her advent calendar and her milk so I’m enjoying a cup of tea. Yay.

Off for a walk in a bit (or when dh takes them to nursery) need to get my steps in!

Mrsmadevans · 17/12/2020 07:47

Morning everyone 😀
Tayto that reed diffuser sounds forget just the job for a fella 😃
Gen hope you can get back safe and sound to see your Mum , l am so sorry l missed you saying about your brother, my condolences to you and your family , it will be a difficult time for you all 💐

lifelongfrugaleer · 17/12/2020 09:45

Happierwithouthim · 17/12/2020 10:00

Just a survey app I downloaded, I'll get 57c per friend that joins!

Bornlazy · 17/12/2020 10:48

Morning everyone

Have lost the plot a bit with the spending, but thankfully nearly there now with present shopping. I'm doing Christmas Dinner so expecting ££££ on my next online shop. January will have to be super Frugal to claw back some money for Ds1's 18th birthday in March.

Sing you should try again to book a test. My friend had similar where it wouldn't let her book for ages but then suddenly let her. (Her ds tested positive and then the rest of the household developed symptoms.)

Gen I really hope you get home for Christmas. It sounds as though your mum needs you 💐 How would you be travelling ( assuming not on a jet ski 😉) ?

Gensola · 17/12/2020 11:28

@Taytocrisps yes I’ve been following it. My mum and step dad have had the virus - she had it very badly and is actually in an antibody trial now, and I have had the vaccine as I was part of the Oxford vaccine trials so I don’t think I’m at risk of spreading the virus. But I am starting to wonder if it is a bad idea because if I had an accident or something I’d be overwhelming the hospital.

Gensola · 17/12/2020 11:31

@Bornlazy I drive onto the ferry Grin - I have booked a cabin so no mixing with others.
