Hi everyone. I'm massively behind after a week of what feels like constant marking for school. just read back a little bit and it's lovely to see Sing and Girlie!

Will try and read back properly later but I'm on a mission to have everything finished by the end of term!

Mrsmadevans · 09/12/2020 20:00

Gen the very best of luck with your 2 embryos. That is wonderful you have 2 💐

Unescorted · 09/12/2020 20:26

Hey sing sorry to hear your Dh is still in pain & you are having a tough time too.

Good to see you Accidental - I saw you creep in there Wink Grin

Gen sending you and your 2 specks all the best wishes and love.

Life there is a huge backlog at the Land Reg and for local searches. If they aren't back for your purchasers, vendors or somewhere else in the chain it holds everyone up. Frustrating as everyone tries to get in before the stamp duty goes back up.

Girlie good to hear your DD is getting there slowly.

Shein welcome it is lovely to have new people here.

North our tree is very random too - no colour co-ordination / theme except Xtreme Kitch. New bits keep getting added each day - we now have a Jeff Koons pink poodle, Carol Baskin and Joe Exotic baubles. I think we need some Bob Ross ones, but have been over ruled so I think I may make some slightly odd gingerbread ones.....

Mrs & Tayto hi! I keep seeing you and then get distracted.

Enjoying catching up with the thread! And learning about Jersey beans :o

Spends today £13ish in Tesco but it was on a gift card from FIL, I couldn’t find my bank card Hmm
Oh and £11 booking a home ed event for Friday, last of the year. So so glad they are allowed this time (due to schools staying open, homeschool stuff is also an exception to the restrictions) - as much for me as for DS, really.

Girlie I’d been wondering how your DD was getting on, that’s a relief that she’s doing better! School are... well a bit meh TBH, they do punish the offenders when pushed but really it’s the whole school atmosphere that she’s struggling with, for a while in Sep/Oct this boy was coming up to her and hitting her several times a day and teachers walking by didn’t even comment. WTF. 🙄 She’s been back a year (today in fact) now!

I REALLY need to plan on using up the freezer stuff, and figure out when to buy what for Christmas food. We got deliveries up to 19th so will need some last minute fresh bits from the supermarket - DH can go as I’ll spend a fortune with The Twitch 😂

Unescorted · 09/12/2020 22:24

I have just had to spend my first month's pay rise on a new dryer. Bollox.... although the old one has had a lot of use and at least it didn't wait until January.

Sing I need to do a freezer audit. I am going to have a fun weekend aren't I?

OP posts:
Mrsmadevans · 09/12/2020 22:32

Hello Unescorted 😀👍🤩
That is a pita re the dryer 🙄
Nevermind got to be done 🤗
Freezer audit sounds 😬
I did defrost Dd1 freezer and can now get all her vegan food in there so that is a huge help 😀
I am fed up with scrabbling around the other freezer to find her Naked Burgers 😂😂😂

Unescorted · 10/12/2020 06:57

I am kind of glad about the dryer.... it was one of those ones that had so many settings, sensors and bits that needed cleaning that given the choice I would let the washing pile up for the next sunny day. Nothing ever came out totally dry - it assumed everything was going to be ironed so left it just damp. Pointless appliance.

Freezer audit means that I can find the 22 bags of frozen peas all with a table spoon of peas in and consolidate them.

lifelongfrugaleer · 10/12/2020 07:00

I'm going to do a big shop and restock as the other bit of the chain has now collapsed.

Not writing much as feeling v down in general but but loving the chit chat.

SnugglySnerd · 10/12/2020 07:01

Our washer-dryer is similar Unescorted, it is fone for about half a load. Any more than that and the clothes just come out wet but warm. No room for a separate dryer sadly, I would like one.
Dh loves doing a freezer audit! He lists everything so we can use it up and enjoys consolidating as you say. It is usually packets with one fish finger in in this house!

Unescorted · 10/12/2020 07:19

life that is disappointing for you. Is it a fixable reason or are you back to square one?

Snuggly wet but warm is a good description. I want a dryer not a give the clothes a bit of a shake. Although at the moment we aren't even getting warm.

OP posts:
Bornlazy · 10/12/2020 07:35

Life I'm sorry the house move isn't going well. It must be very stressful and disappointing especially with covid and Christmas thrown into the mix.

Hi Sing and Girlie nice to see you.

Welcome Sherin

Mrs what a fantastic achievement losing 2 stone. Well done you. I keep seeing Wales on the news re covid. Are you ok where you are? We come out of our lockdown on Friday I am not looking forward to the madness that will surely follow.

I've only ever had a washer/dryer once and it was rubbish. I've never had room for a separate dryer. I think if you're used to having one they are hard to live without.

I'm spending a lot of money on rubbish at the moment. I need to stop 🙈 I'm also totally fed up with food shopping I feel I'm constantly buying food. I need to do some baking to use up bananas but really can't be bothered. Need to give myself a shake 😜

Mrsmadevans · 10/12/2020 07:54

Morning everyone 😀
Life l am so sorry to hear about the chain collapsing it's news you can well do without 💐
Born thank you re the weight l need to lose more but am feeling so much better physically it's so nice to be so much lighter😊. We are ok here in Monmouthshire but other parts the levels are horrendous. I am more worried about the HAI though tbh l think it's a lot to do with the rise in numbers 🙄
Better shift have a lot on today with MumBobs , have a lovely day everyone 😀

northender · 10/12/2020 08:38

Born you can freeze the bananas and use them when you want in baking.
Life that's really shit, sorry.
Unescorted love a freezer audit, really satisfying
Mrs fantastic weight loss, well done. I need to get myself back into gear, this year started off brilliantly with a big loss which was only a fraction of what I need to shift, but over lockdown it has crept back on.
Jobs around the house today, a streamed live workout and meeting mum to help with her shopping and to hopefully tick some of my Christmas shopping bits off.

lifelongfrugaleer · 10/12/2020 09:56

It's fixable if they can get a new buyer.

isawthat · 10/12/2020 12:22

Hello, may I join as well please? We’ve recently paid off a big amount of debt and are debt free which is great. But we’ve also had DC3, so have lost a lot of money there too. I’ve gone through all our outgoings and got them down as much as possible but I can be a bit carefree with money (will happily buy a takeaway if I can’t be bothered to cook, but we don’t really have the money to be doing that very often) so I feel like this thread will help with keeping me in check a bit

SnugglySnerd · 10/12/2020 15:16

Welcome Isawthat!

Gensola · 10/12/2020 16:35

@lifelongfrugaleer so sorry to hear, we just bought our first home a few months ago and the whole process was totally awful. We had two sales fall through before we finally got there and it was such an emotional and financial drain.
£125 on freezer food, dry goods from Lidl, the start of a Brexit stockpile... am worried about supply chain problems in the New Year. Confused
Last day at work tomorrow until after Christmas, can’t wait! Have about 14 hours worth of work to do tho Grin
We will start our frozen embryo transfer cycle on the first day of AF this month so have some paperwork to do and then drugs to get ready. Apparently I have to take progesterone pessaries which I am not thrilled about... trying not to think about it too much.

Lovemaltesers · 10/12/2020 16:51

Gutting to hear that life

I have everything crossed for you gen

Lovely to hear from girlie , sing and other regulars 👍

Welcome newbies . We’re friendly here

Had an awful evening with DDad last night. Dementia is shit.

lifelongfrugaleer · 10/12/2020 18:02

Dementia is a robbing bastard shitty illness.

SnugglySnerd · 10/12/2020 20:39

Good luck with the embryos Gen. I am starting to worry about Brexit too. It makes a change from worrying about Covid though!

SingToTheSky · 10/12/2020 20:47

Love 💐

Spends today about £11 in the small tesco after the nursery run but after a healthy start voucher and the rest of the gift card it was less than £2 real money. I meant to go into town but couldn’t face it. I do need to get DD1 her little tree though.

DS pointed out it is two weeks to Christmas Eve. Yikes. Some living room tidying is happening now, we haven’t even started decorating yet! Presents are pretty much done but I don’t feel very festive yet.

lifelongfrugaleer · 10/12/2020 20:48

Good luck gen. Maybe twins....

Me too snug hence the top up. I need a buffer in my cupboard.

SingToTheSky · 10/12/2020 20:52

We have a bit of a buffer that we’ve built up since lockdown 1 - before that we had virtually nothing in reserve. I think we could do better though, so I still add a few extra tins to most shops. Which reminds me I must edit tomorrow’s delivery or we will end up with the four bottles of Malibu I ordered to reserve the slot. #classy

I’m trying not to think about brexit really.

Unescorted · 10/12/2020 22:04

love it is a shitting bastard of a disease. xxx
isa welcome

Brexit is a worry - my stash has been rotating, but even Dh has come on board with buying 2 when we only need one.

Mrs I need your weight loss mind set.
