girlie that is a coat and a half! Love it!!!!

Dh is watching a Daniel Craig detective movie. Knives out I think it’s called. Looks like something id have enjoyed.

mrs and tayto if you’re after a couple of good films - try:

Remember me - has Christopher Plummer in it (him off of sound of music)
The woman in gold - helen mirren
Headhunters - this is a Scandi film

Wolfcub · 29/12/2020 17:36

Life Knives Out is brilliant

Girlie lovely coat

Em that's a lot achieved. Personally if I'd been working I wouldn't have been the one going to the shop

Sorted dm's stuff out. Load of washing done. Whole book read. Other than that have done nothing.

wolf I know te workkng and shop. But I needed to get out the house.

If you haven’t seen it already yet the 100 year old man who jumped out the window. That was a good movie too.

Girliefriendlikespuppies · 29/12/2020 23:09

Yes Mrs that's the one! It's not arrived yet but will update once it has!!

Have spent the evening binging on Netflix's new show Bridgerton, it's like a weird alter universe where racism was never a thing but it's so addictive!! Reckon you'd like it em not least because the Duke is 🔥

Spent £30 in Hobby craft today on bits for my mums bday cake and stuff for dd who has been very crafty recently. She's just finished this lion paint by numbers which looks amazing.

Also spent £30 in Sainsbury's that includes two new giant towels that were in the sale and are much needed (current towels are years old.) Plus more food.

Girliefriendlikespuppies · 29/12/2020 23:10

Forgot to add lion picture!

Nice coat girlie. Agree with unescorted I think it sounds like you're handling the issues with your dd really well, teens are difficult at the best of times never mind throwing an eating disorder into the mix.

Just heard it's likely we will stay in T3 today which is the first good news we've had on restrictions for months. Work yesterday was okay, just today & tomorrow to negotiate & then another long weekend.

Turkey curry last night was fab. It was a lazy one that I got from the Raffi's Spice Box stall in Booths, delicious. They make the spice mix up for you and we just had to add coconut milk and chopped tomatoes. This mix was called Christmas Leftover curry, perfect.

lifelongfrugaleer · 30/12/2020 07:24

We've finished Bridgerton now. Great escapism tv.
Needed apples yesterday. No other spends

Unescorted · 30/12/2020 09:02

The car is snowed in, it melted a bit and then refroze overnight so it is like an ice rink..... snow is lovely until you need to do anything.

ememem84 · 30/12/2020 09:08

oooh dsis also recommender bridgeton. will get on it.

Mrsmadevans · 30/12/2020 09:08

Great news about the vaccine today thankfully 👏👏👏
They have given snow for us so am off to shop for MumBob just in case.
Girlie totally agree with you re Brigerton just brilliant escapism 👏👏😀 love the coat 😀

maddenlightfoot · 30/12/2020 09:25

We're watching The Queen's Gambit - totally addictive and gorgeous mid-century setting and clothes. Will add Bridgerton to my list too.

So much sorting to do at home but we'll go out walking at some point and I've got a puzzle, knitting and books to read (anyone else quite enjoy enforced isolation 😅 ?)

Big Tesco shop delivered last night so also lots of batch cooking to do.

Taytocrisps · 30/12/2020 09:42

Cold morning here. It's so quiet outside - you'd never know it was a Wednesday.

If the headlines are to be believed, it looks like we're heading into a strict lockdown with non-essential shops closing and a 5km limit on travel. We're already in lockdown but with some modifications. We had 1,546 cases yesterday which is the highest daily number recorded here since the pandemic started. A lovely start to the new year! But we had our first vaccination here in Ireland this week, so it's just a matter of months before the vaccination programme gets rolled out and then life can return to normal.

I watched 'Emma' last night but fell asleep in the middle of it Blush. Woke up in time for the happy ending Smile.

Tonight's TV viewing is an episode or two of 'The Crown' and 'Escape to the Chateau at Christmas'. It's a repeat so I'm guessing they recorded it pre-Covid. Incidentally, I wonder how their business is doing since Covid - I'm guessing it's suffering like every other business in the hospitality sector.

Gensola · 30/12/2020 09:48

@Taytocrisps are you in ROI? Just wondering as haven’t heard anything about a 5km limit in travel in UK news.

I am thinking about starting a decluttering business as a side hustle - would people pay for that? It’s my passion Grin although I’m a teacher by day ahaha! I was thinking I could do it in evening and weekend and then in school hols.

Taytocrisps · 30/12/2020 09:52

Yes Gen I'm in ROI. Sorry to give you a fright.

Wolfcub · 30/12/2020 10:05

Has to slither down our street ( doesn't get gritted and slopes) to go and buy road salt, it's absolutely lethal in front of our house and set to get worse

Trying to think of somewhere we can go for a walk that's least likely to result in a broken hip.

I recommend Transplant on sky/now tv as a good bit of telly, especially if you like Grays Anatomy/Chicago med

Girliefriendlikespuppies · 30/12/2020 10:24

I've just had a complete rant (internally) as bloody Camhs have let me down again 😫 they're beyond useless. Have just put together a strongly worded email, I'm so pissed off as we both needed the support today.

I don't feel like I'm handling the ED well at all tbh, it's so hard not to just get really angry with dd and accept it's not her fault 😰

Anyway am going to strop round Aldi as need to do a basic shop and we're getting our haircut later. Also need to pick some bits up in town, likely to be a spendy day!!

I've been thinking about something like this for a while now. i bet that people here would pay for it...although i don't think i'd have time what with the dc and work etc.

i did dsis' wardrobe/clothes last year. kept her nice and organised. she wanted help before she heads back to school (teacher). but i'm working so have no time to help her.

Unescorted · 30/12/2020 11:42

The Queen's Gambit is so good.
I watched Sound Of Music last night with DD. She hadn't seen it before and cried all the way through. I warned her...

Wolf it is slippy here too. I have decided to raincheck going out today. DH is going to try and get the car out before it starts snowing again (due overnight).

£6 bag of road salt
£48 new waking boots, I've been meaning to buy some for two years and slithering around in trainers with no grips has served as a good reminder
