NSD. Gen is telling her to fuck off an option? Just a thought😀

Bornlazy · 19/12/2020 20:46

Gen I really feel for you not being able to see your mum. That's a tough situation for you Flowers

I will probably still see my mum on Christmas day but not sure about my brother's family. We are going into level 4 (Scotland) on boxing day so not sure what to do. A crystal ball would be handy...

North glad you are feeling better. Think there's going to be a lot of people in the same boat re turkey

Wolf nice to see you back.

Cag glad ds is negative.

ememem84 · 19/12/2020 20:56

@lifelongfrugaleer

Turkey curry obviously Pie Hot sandwich with cranberry sauce and gravy Chips and pickles
You also forgot the “moistmaker” in the Turkey sandwich. Like Ross’ sandwich “myyyyyyy sandwich....?!”

Dm makes Christmas dinner soup. Potatoes Turkey stuffing sausages veggies. All in a soup.

As well as Christmas dinner pie. As above but pie.

I feel for all you guys with the changing tiers.

gen I’m so sorry you won’t get to see Dm. This really is the shitest isn’t it?

With our rules here hairdressers beauty salons etc and shops can remain open. The amount of people who are booking hair appointments with friends (as in next to each other) so they can chat whilst it’s going on is ludicrous. A local pub is offering hot chicken sandwiches and mulled wine takeaway so people can meet family in the park for winter picnics (socially distanced of course!)

But it’s phenomenally shit.

Gensola · 19/12/2020 21:30

@Accidentalaccountant sooo tempting Grin

I am getting drunk. DH made negronis. We ate a mountain of pasta. Cattery are saying we still have to pay even though DCat doesn’t need to go there now.

em hot chicken sandwich and mulled wine sounds delish

Mrsmadevans · 19/12/2020 23:17

Mrsmadevans · 19/12/2020 23:19

Just heard from my Darling cousin that her Dh has been in Hospital for a chest infection and he was on the assessment ward and he has caught Covid from the hospital Shock l think HAI seems to be the number 1 cause of the spread here in Monmouthshire.

Bornlazy · 19/12/2020 23:46

Oh Mrs I hope your cousin's dh is alright. It's such a worry at the moment.

northender · 20/12/2020 06:57

Oh Mrs I hope he is okay. From what I'm hearing from hospital staff, it's not just Monmouthshire where that is the case. The figures for daily hospital admissions include those who have acquired covid in hospital and that may be 50% of the numbers.

ememem84 · 20/12/2020 07:10

Morning all.

mrs I hope he’s ok

Up early with dd (again) were watching postman Pat. He really is the worse postman ever.

Mrsmadevans · 20/12/2020 07:10

Morning everyone 🤗
Thank you so much Born & North my darling cousin is such a wonderful person she has a beautiful 💖. Her DH is the same and she loves him with all her heart 😭. I am so afraid for her .
Yes North all these poor ppl getting the virus from others in hospital, it is so wrong . I think we must all be extremely vigilant even more so than before if possible. I only hope is that the vaccinations will work against this new strain or else 😫
Not happy news today but onwards and upwards everyone, it will be alright 🤗

Mrsmadevans · 20/12/2020 07:12

Thank you Em ☺️
Postman Pat was an old fave of my 2 DDS 😁 have a lovely day 🤗

lifelongfrugaleer · 20/12/2020 08:41

Oh that's awful. Hope cousin gas.

Postman Pat would be fired irl.

Mad planned today.

Mrsmadevans · 20/12/2020 09:03

Life good luck with the mad day l can imagine 😀👏👏👏

ememem84 · 20/12/2020 09:09

Dh has finally come downstairs. As has ds. Dd and I have already had breakfast (because up early) dh annoyed because he had a special pancake breakfast planned. Which would have been lovely but now I’m not hungry. Pointed out if he’d gotten up earlier....

He’s also annoyed because apparently “we” didn’t get mil enough for Christmas. I ordered her some hand made custom Christmas baubles (with all of her grandchildren’s faces on them - from a local artist - super cute but £20 a go so not cheap!). I said to her to open the parcel as soon as it arrives.

Dh spoke to her via FaceTime this morning and said to open the box because there’s Christmas baubles in there as well as a present.

I’ve since told him that the baubles were the present and spoiler alert....! Apparently it’s not enough. I should have sent more. He’s been told where he can shove that and that next year we’re back to doing our own families gifts. Because clearly I’m not thoughtful enough.

Wolfcub · 20/12/2020 09:56

Ah Mrs sorry to hear that hope he pulls around Thanks

Em definitely let him sort his own family presents if that's the attitude

Repainted the bannisters yesterday and touched up the walls where they'd been knocked by the removal men. They were very careful but the stairs are awkward.

Yet another huge load of washing to try and get to the bottom of ds's rancid wash basket 🤢 taking it to dm's when it's done so it can go in the dryer. Also washing car as it should get traded in next week as df's car has hit uk shores. Also need to print photos for dgm's present from parents.

Other than that not much planned as hip is being an arse and first of the Christmas wine food shops is coming later so I need to make room and unpack it.

Scrambled egg on crumpets for breakfast, probably mushrooms on toast for tea

Sorry to those who are in tier 4 and have had Christmas plans cancelledXmas Sad

ememem84 · 20/12/2020 10:15

Beaut day here. Laundry on and will go on the line outside when it’s done. Fingers crossed.

Dh said that him doing his families gifts isn’t fair because he’s just too busy around Christmas time. Have pointed out that they were done by end of November because postage. So he shouldn’t have any issues!!

This year his one job was Fil and his partners presents. He hasn’t done anything. I’m not reminding him again.

Gensola · 20/12/2020 10:45

em sorry to hear re MIL gifts. Baubles sound lovely!

mrsevans so so sorry to hear about your cousin’s DH, hope he pulls through very soon.

I’ve just signed myself up for a really intense French exam administered by the French government. I have til June to get from rusty GCSE to this level which is the second highest they do. Grin that’ll keep me busy in lockdown 3...

Feeling lucky to be in tier 2 despite not being able to go to NI. DH says he is taking me out for dinner somewhere nice.

lifelongfrugaleer · 20/12/2020 11:05

Those baubles sound ace and dh can definitely do them next time.
Shops are crazy this morning. Needed flour so braved Aldi.

lifelongfrugaleer · 20/12/2020 11:08

My auto correct is a bastard this morning

Mrsmadevans · 20/12/2020 14:25

Em the baubles must be beautiful because the other stuff in the site are gorgeous ❣️
Take no notice, next year let him do his own 🙄

ememem84 · 20/12/2020 15:20

These are the baubles. I knew I had a pic somewhere. Dh doesn’t not like them. I think it’s because they’re mil’s only gift.

Ds and I went to the garden centre to pick up cat litter and food for catface. and some other Christmas parephenalia

isawthatt · 20/12/2020 20:25

Hiya all, well we’re in lockdown here and not really sure when it will end. Although we hadn’t planned to meet up with anyone at Christmas I just feel so upset. I keep thinking about DS2 has only ever known a world like this, he’s not really been anywhere other than his house and to the park. He hasn’t been held by anyone other than me, DH, the DC and the midwife. It makes me so desperately sad, and I know he won’t remember it but we’ll never get this time back. I’m also quite stressed about entertaining the DC, we live in a small village with basically nothing to do. I’m worried about them going back to school and catching the virus. And like most people I just want to be with my family again.

I’ve given myself today to be kind to myself. We went for a walk earlier, we’ve watched Fred Claus and played some games, also went to the shops and watched Frozen. They’re still so excited for Christmas and it’s keeping me going. They’re still excited, Santa is still coming to visit them, they still get to be with their parents and their siblings and we’re going to try and make it the best Christmas we can. So I’ve decided to try and perk up, I‘be had a bath and feel a bit more fresh, am now off to do some housework and plan activities!.

I’m so sorry gen, can your mum form a bubble with any of you or is that not possible?. I hope you can find a way to celebrate Christmas together virtually. It has been handled so awfully, I agree. I’m sorry your MIL is like that, I have a similar FIL!.

Thanks wolf she learnt very quickly!. I hope you’ve managed to edit your shop!.

Sorry that your plans have also been affected life

We love turkey sandwiches here north

em it sounds like quite a good idea for the pub to do that. The baubles are lovely, if DH doesn’t like them he should do the gifts himself. We do it that way and it saves a lot of arguments.

mrs I’m so sorry about your cousins DH, I hope he makes a full recovery. I’m also in Monmouthshire. Bobs cake is lovely.

£5.75 in local shop.
£4.99 on Fred Claus

I might be a bit spendy tonight and order bits and bobs to keep the DC entertained over lockdown.
