Lockdown (almost) over and frugalling continues!

Hi all, fell off the thread as we can't go on holiday to Spain now. Have been having a nightmare trying to get a full refund!
We booked with loveholidays and the flights are with Ryanair.
We have our money back for the accommodation, but not the flights. Loveholidays says Ryanair have to refund it (Ryanair don't do refunds!), and Ryanair are saying it's up to loveholidays to refund us!
It has been pretty stressful and even more so because I can't actually speak to a human being!

Anyway, accessorize opened again on Friday and they are having a big sale so I got 5 pairs of silver earrings, a silver necklace and a small purse for £29.55.
Was happy with that for real silver and will do presents for a few people.
NSD sat and sun.

Dgm is very poorly but hanging in there. This is going to sound awful but would have been better if she'd just closed her eyes and quietly died at home while we were waiting for the ambulance. She loathes hospitals and is unhappy there but is not fit for release

AHH Wolf l am so sorry re Your DGM. I completely understand what you are saying. I felt relieved when my poor Dad passed away a year ago before this awful pandemic. I was able to be with him when he died it means so many Ch to know you are with them and they are comforted by your voice 🤗

We got some Sims wolf but it's both discomfort and cold

Ikwym about dgm too. It's not awful to think that

For the cold Life you need blankets under and over the sims as the cold will travel through them very effectively. We used to do tent carpet, blanket, air mattress, blanket then sleeping bag.

The comfort bit is somewhat harder to fix but consider a duvet on top of the sim between the sim and your sleeping bag

Yes life did sum budgeting the other day will deffo be able 2 afford it. Wasn’t sure I would be able 2 bcuz if the insurance but found a gud deal and have cancelled sum of my subscriptions like Netflix and amazon cuz my mum has it and I can just use hers.

I completely understand how u feel wolf my great nan went thru similar. Her stroke left her in an awful place where she was incapable of doing anything 4 herself (even going 2 the loo) and I sumtimes wish she had passed away in her stroke b4 it got 2 that stage.

I haven’t seen anything mrs I wonder how different Xmas will be this year.

Wolf, I know how you feel. When my nan was ill in hospital, she got one of those superbugs, I just wanted her to close her eyes. She couldn't move but the pain in her eyes, I will never forget.

Dp sold one of his wood etsy things, so I paid to post that. But that's it today. We seem to be running out of food again though. Bloody hell these kids eat!

Will make some flapjack and cakes later, as there's lots of ingredients in, but no quick snacky food. Those 4 dozen cookies? Yeah, exactly five left the next morning!

em gosh that's a lot for a tin of juice! I was grumbling that the 30 pack has gone up to £11. I got the last one for £8. Its the only thing I buy that is just for me! Dd1 gets coke zero and ds and dp Pepsi max! We are all allowed one a day.

Just did a 4 year 4.9% balance transfer from my expensive credit card, so that will help with the monthly payments (and interest). Trying so hard not to use the credit cards at all now.

both been stolen by my Dd2 l suppose they were a bit young for me and did have her in mind if they didn't fit me because it's her birthday soon .
Grocery was 13 pounds so 57 in Tesco today not so bad , l didn't spend anything else in any of the other shops
