Happy birthday to your DD em.

I am not sure how your fil and his gf managed to walk out of your house. I would have been less restrained.

Mummy that looks amazing - I wish I had decorating ability.

Lonely good news on your job. Mine wasn't so positive but there will be other opportunities.

Mrsmadevans · 29/07/2020 19:31

@ememem84

This was the butterfly that landed on me. It was almost as big as my hand. Terrifying. But amazing at the same time.

And I know I’m not as artistic or creative as @ChristmasSeacow or any of you other fabulous birthday cake bakers but this is my attempt at a giraffe.

You do yourself down Em the cake is absolutely amazing well done! Love the butterfly so pretty l would have been afraid to hurt it 🦋
ememem84 · 29/07/2020 19:33

mrsevans I could see its huge fangs!!!!

But so pretty. Another butterfly I saw and also a Passion flower (I think) how pretty is is?!?!

lifelongfrugaleer · 29/07/2020 21:00

Sorry about the job unescorted. Get feedback as well

ememem84 · 29/07/2020 21:31

Thanks mrs I love our zoo. It’s an amazing place.

We saw the baby gorilla today too and the ring tailed, red ruffed, and gentle lemurs. I love lemurs. Ds sat with me and watched them for ages. Just bouncing about. He said they weren’t lemurs they were “monkey cats”

If it was absolutely ok to have one as a pet I’d have one. Would walk it on a lead and let it strut it’s lemur stuff.

The cake had so much frosting on it. 😂

LonelyOversharer · 30/07/2020 09:12

Happy belated birthday to dd em glad you had a great time at the zoo. Fab cake.

unescorted sorry about the job, they'll be saving you for something better.

I'm in on Friday for 4 hours, so will get full pay for that. It will be an extra £6.84 next week, that's all (but will pay tax etc on that bit, so will actually lose more than I earn. Ho hum).

I am off to IKEA in a minute. Just some Kallax frames and boxes. Budgeted £100. Will transfer from savings. Dd1 was actually pleased I'd done her room. It was as the stage where she didn't know where to start with it.

LonelyOversharer · 30/07/2020 09:32

Oh and it's by the by, but the Dixie Chicks have changed their name to "The Chicks" and have a new album out. Go forth and listen to the first 2 songs on it! Gaslighter and How do you sleep at night.

They were written for those of us with shitty exes!! (I watched them on you tube so was free).

SnugglySnerd · 30/07/2020 11:45

Our neigjbiurs have a passion flower growing up their fence, Em. It is beautiful. I always admire it when walking past. I suppose I should try and grow my own!

LonelyOversharer · 30/07/2020 17:07

IKEA was enough. More humanity than I have seen since March!! We queued like we were waiting for a roller-coaster for about 45 mins - once in it was odd and quiet.

£107, which isn't bad at all. 3 small kallax all built. Also had a Costa and a burger from maccyd's. So spent about £20 on bits and bobs. I just hope we didn't get close enough to anyone who is poorly.

Just sorted out the bike clothes. Dp has every size from xl to 5xl! Have thinned it down considerably, and will be put in the loft. Mine now fits a single kallax box (including my very very ugly winter shoes). Will ebay duplicates/spares for bargain basement prices as its all used.

Tired now.

Mrsmadevans · 30/07/2020 17:14

We've been to The NT property in Monmouth called The KYMIN.
The view is to die for 😃🧡👏

Weathers gawj here have been in the garden all day has been divine!

ememem84 · 30/07/2020 18:46

mrs oh that’s a beaut of a view. I’ve been to Wales once (to Cardiff to the millennium stadium for rugby) but never into the country country and to real Wales. Driven through a fair few times en route to Ludlow but never stopped.

£31 in coop today. Bits we needed for the house - milk cheese etc and treats for ds Dds and my breakfast picnic tomorrow. Pastries cartons of juice grapes and strawberries. We’re meeting a friend in the park for a catch up and a play and a swing.

I lived in Wales for four years so I'm a big fan. No work now for a couple of weeks. Thank god. Helping a friend with something worky later but that's it. They can get me if they need me but I know they won't unless it's really urgent.

Working my way around decorating the attic. Prep and priming nearly done. Hoping to nail it all this weekend. At the start of lockdown I couldn't even get in there. All my own work and I'm a bit proud of myself.

SnugglySnerd · 30/07/2020 19:42

I've been there Mrs! Unfortunately it was a wet day and I was running around after dd1 who was about 18 months at the time so I didn't get to admire the view! I love Wales though, it's a relatively short journey from Brum so we usually go at least once a year.

northender · 30/07/2020 19:49

Well done wolf. Maybe not decorating weather tomorrow, it's forecast to be very hot.
Sorry about the job news unescorted, I always think these things happen for a reason.
Belated happy birthday to your dd Em. Great cake & passion flowers are lovely, never grown one though
Sounds positive about your job lonely. Which Ikea do you go to? We were supposed to be getting one nearby but I think the plans have been shelved so it's Warrington for us.
That view looks lovely Mrs

We've had a good couple of days off. On Tuesday we went to the coast and nearly got blown away but it was lovely to be out. Yesterday was coast again (well estuary really) and was one of my favourite spots. Just me & dh & it was lovely. Today some good friends were up from Somerset & their dd is coming to uni here so we had a bit of a wander round the town & then had a pub meal. So quite a spendy few days, but it's all going to be put against the holiday budget! Tomorrow we are going camping with friends for 2 nights which will be great. Mum is having cataract op tomorrow morning so I'm picking her up from that & getting her home first. Busy times but good.

lifelongfrugaleer · 30/07/2020 20:19

Lovely views
Enjoy your leave wolf
That's what's putting me off IKEA lonely. CBA with that q.
£165 in 2 supermarkets but my stash is fairly well stocked now,

LonelyOversharer · 30/07/2020 20:31

north Gateshead for me, don't recommend it life unless you really need something! Home delivery to me (45 miles west) is more than the fuel driving over.

Just did 8 miles on my bike. I'm sick of feeling like an old, fat slug.

Wolfcub · 30/07/2020 22:24

Aaaand we are back in semi lockdown just when I'd made plans with friends for weekend too. Oh well back to being a saddo on my own

SnugglySnerd · 31/07/2020 06:34

Oh bad luck Wolf. There's going to be a lot of this happening.
