I've just made a bucketload of yellow frosting for dd's cake. chocolate frosting later. then we frost the giraffe.

fil is here today "helping" dh with the garden aka crisitising. im working and twice he's scolded me for not helping because i'm sat at the computer working. "you're home you should be helping him do this not me"

hes also demanded tea - apparently i need to make myself busy because thats all "you lot" aka women are good for.

apparently his gf is coming over in a bit once she's finished golfing to help too and she'll be most upset to see me not helping. she can gtf

and calm. walking to shop in a bit to buy fondant to make giraffe eyes. and gift wrap because i forgot it. and have to wrap dds presents later too. :)

Looks lovely very well done Mummy you have worked hard.
Shopio today Tesco 11
Em wth ! He's a right MCP !

LonelyOversharer · 28/07/2020 16:03

I think mumsnet did something. All my "you're on" threads from a year ago have gone and I had to hunt out the thread too.

Finally done some useful things... took dd1 through to my parents for her first sleepover since March, had a cuppa there, and came home and have "done" her room. She will hate me!!! But ffs I couldn't even get the door open. Have easily pulled 50 coke cans out (she is only allowed one a day). Full bin bag, three laundry baskets full and half the houses' crockery. She really will hate me. I'll buy her some 🍫.

Sorted a draw of my crap that had sticky sweets kind of melted onto stuff, and found two Lakeland vouchers. £24.44! Order made for licorice and cake release, only paid £2 extra. Felt good.

Probably do a tip run soon (bloody hell it's nearly 4pm!) before tea.

Do you think library bags like book bags would be a good idea? All my preschoolers wanted a book bag of their own - they would have loved a bag to cart their library books about in. I ordered some cotton twill tape in 3 bright colours for handles, as I have everything else for prototypes.

Mrsmadevans · 28/07/2020 16:26

Yes @LonelyOversharer mine were all gone too 🙄😬

Wolfcub · 28/07/2020 17:01

@Mrsmadevans MCP? Massive cunty pants? 😂

I’m just so fucking zen @Wolfcub

Fil commented that my tea making isn’t up to scratch so I told him I wouldn’t make him tea. Because what’s the point if I’m shit at it?

His gf turned up and sat her arse on the couch. She wanted to put tv on. I said no because I was working. Apparently I should have thought of that. She put tv on anyway. I had a call with a colleague and she turned tv up loud.

I asked her politely to leave. I need a medal or more gin.

They’ll be back here tomorrow “to party” because it’s dds birthday. They can’t wait to get on the booze. Ffs.

God almightly Em your poor Dh fancy having a Dad like that . I don't know how you can stand the pr of them in your presence. OH yes btw, you were right with the Massive cunty pants Grin

SnugglySnerd · 28/07/2020 20:10

How have you not banged bith their heads together Em? Is dh embarrassed about them?

You've been busy Mummy, I love the planet wallpaper. Dd1 would love that.

Nsd and have done lots more clearing out.

ememem84 · 28/07/2020 21:35

Dh is embarrassed yes. But at the same time he hates it when I stand up for myself in front of them. Not because he hates me standing up for myself. Just it causes all sorts of issues.

Well not hear the end of how I bullied them out today now. I secretly hope they don’t come back. But they will.

The other day they came round and asked me to leave because they wanted to talk to dh about family business. I refused. “Why don’t you take the kids out for a walk there’s a good girl”

Dh stood up for me and said I was family. So whatever they had to say could be said infront of me. He also pointed out if it was family business fils gf shouldn’t be there because she’s technically not because they’re not married. That went down well.

They usually throw the “well cut you out of the will” or “you’re not inheriting” to me. The last time fils gf told me I wouldn’t inherit I just said “ok thanks” and walked off. She was spoiling for a fight that day. I suspect she wanted me to beg and plead for an inheritance.

What she fails to understand is I’m not bothered by that stuff. I

ememem84 · 29/07/2020 08:19

Thanks guys!!!! She was up nice and early (5am...) ss was ds. I’m on cup of tea no 2 already. And have managed to so far successfully avoid a meltdown from ds because all the presents are for Dd. And not him.

We’re off to the zoo later on this morning. Should “only” cost us £50 I think for me and dh.... plus gift shop - I’ve promised ds something if he’s good.

Aw thanks guys.

Lovely at the zoo!

£33 to get in and the. £51 in the gift shop.

Ds was excellent so we got him a vet kit (or animal doctor toy as he’s calling it) and a monkey mask. They also had some super cute tshirts with lemurs on them so I got them one of each. Lemurs are my faves!!!!

Went into the butterfly house and a big ass one landed on me!!!!

ememem84 · 29/07/2020 19:12

This was the butterfly that landed on me. It was almost as big as my hand. Terrifying. But amazing at the same time.

And I know I’m not as artistic or creative as @ChristmasSeacow or any of you other fabulous birthday cake bakers but this is my attempt at a giraffe.
