School rang him on Friday night Madden after I sent an emergency email. It's had zero effect. All of today's carry on is because the WiFi signal in his room has been poor. WiFi full stop for everyone I know has been poor so not quite clear what destroying my things, embarrassing me in front of my boss and being physically abusive is going to achieve

lifelongfrugaleer · 19/05/2020 18:33

Wolf can you do a crisis call to chahms or someone. Hope you are ok though clearly you are not.
Much as ex isn't great can be get to you to take ds? Yy to contacting the school.
Oh my lovely. We are here as much as possible. Flowers

Vent if you need to.

£32 after school for September deposit. £99 to put canvas holiday to next year. £20 DD riding lesson, something else I can't recall

Ah yes £25 fitness bands.

lifelongfrugaleer · 19/05/2020 18:34

If you can get him there can be go into school as child of a key worker?

Bless you wolf. Bloody kids. Not surprisingly you are at the end of your tether.

LaneBoy · 19/05/2020 19:18

Wolf Thanks schools are allowed (encouraged even) to use their discretion in the guidelines - given his struggles they may agree to this even part time.

Blood hell Wolf, he sounds like a boy who isn't coping at the moment. I agree CAMHS might be able to help but as others have said appointments are like gold dust. Worth a call to the GP or school nurse service? Our school nurses here have recently emailed out some useful numbers for various sorts of help. Not much use to you as they are mostly local but your school nurse must have a similar list I should think. We are all here if you want to moan/vent or whatever Flowers

Evening everyone Grin
Been busy today , went to Wilkinsons this morning bought a new aerial for Bob's telly for Mum , she paid, to watch in the dining room which is now turned into her bedroom, then we spent hours getting the telly tuned in and moving the aerial , up a bit, down a bit Grin Dh wanted more wild bird seed he likes Wilkinsons for our birds £7 for 12.75 kgs not the cheapest but Dh says there is less wastage , less chaff, so l bought him 3 bags of that it should keep him happy for a bit. So spent 21 in there didnt go anywhere else . We were able to collect the stuff from the back of the shop into the car so there was minimal lifting thankfully . Wilkinsons have a one in, one out, man on the door , cleaned trolley so it seems very civilised there.
Got the telly going after an age and came home had a bit of a sit in the garden, then in because it got too hot Hmm no pleasing us is there.
Hope everyone had a lovely day weather here has been gorgeous Grin

Mrsmadevans · 19/05/2020 20:39

Wolf bless you my dear you must be so worried and feel like you have no plavce to go , l think the urgent referrral to CAHMS is a great idea , good luck Flowers

ememem84 · 19/05/2020 21:03

Oh god wolf I hope you’re ok.

I managed 200 words of my assignment today. Not ideal. But I had a big nap this afternoon. Slept from just after 1230 until 4. 😳😱 obviousky needed it.

Bbq chicken for dinner.

Am only now finishing tidying up and am in bed. Ds decided about 20 minutes ago he needed to sit on the toilet #kingofthestallers

He did a wee and a big fart. He thought the fart was hilarious.

Alarm set for tomorrow morning. Up early to read through and sort emails, make my to do list, set the slow cooker off to make spag bol (everything is already chopped) and then get to work.

maddenlightfoot · 19/05/2020 21:15

I think lane has got a good point there wolf - I would hope that school would be thinking about offering a discretionary place; please do update them on today's behaviour. I know that many schools near me haven't had the kind of uptake they were first expecting so have capacity. Even if it's just a day or two so that you get a break, and perhaps seeing school staff in person will lead your ds to taking them more seriously.

Wolfcub · 20/05/2020 08:26

Beetroot yogurt this morning. My recommendation is,.. don't!

Thanks for the support ladies. You are my safe space Daffodilfor everyone

Blimey wolf that's awful, is he sorry afterwards? I would be tempted to speak to the police for advice, it might be a chat by a local copper would make ds realise the seriousness of his actions. I'd also be banning all electronics and phones etc for the foreseeable future. I agree if possible getting him back to school would be a good idea, you would probably both benefit from a bit of space. I think being a single parent to an only child is quite intense really and I know dd and I benefit from some time apart. Hope you're okay 💐

I've been to Aldi this morning, it was relatively straightforward and stress free, I succumbed to the aisle of doom though 😬 I bought a archway for the garden! I've wanted one for ages and it looks perfect, was only £25. The food came to around £80 but in theory there's enough for 2 weeks or so.

Beautiful day here, very hot. Dd is going off to meet a friend for a walk and I'm going to pop to Wilkos for a few bits and pieces.

Spent £11 last night on fish n chips from the van again, was delicious. Have given dd £5 to buy an ice cream for herself and her mate later on.

MeadowHay · 20/05/2020 14:21

Wolf Flowers school seems like it may be of benefit?

Beautiful weather and stuck working at home so no chance to enjoy it. Tbf I could have gone on a walk on my lunch break but I had to wait half of it for a package and then didn't seem worth it when I only had half an hour left, not long enough to have time to sit in the park or anything.

Spent about £20 on groceries after dropping DD off at nursery. She moved back to her usual nursery yesterday as they have finally reopened for key workers/vulnerable children. I was worried about her managing the transition but she knew where she was going before we had even got there and didn't even give me a backwards glance just goes straight off with the nursery staff! I'm glad she feels happy there and we didn't have to re-settle her or anything.

Bornlazy · 20/05/2020 15:13

Wolf that sounds very difficult to manage on your own. Is ExH being of any help with the situation? I don’t know what to say really - obviously it can’t continue but I’m not sure what will help. Flowers and Cake for you oh and Wine I hope the school can offer some support soon.

Nsd today. Sitting out enjoying the lovely weather and trying not to stuff my face. I just want to eat all the time.

Happierwithouthim · 20/05/2020 15:45

@unescorted I got my hands on strong flour & sunshine & my starter is bubbling nicely Grin

SnugglySnerd · 20/05/2020 16:53

Thank you Life Smile

I quite like the sound of beetroot yoghurt!

lifelongfrugaleer · 20/05/2020 16:57

My starter went bad happier, twice.
Failed that lockdown bingo

ememem84 · 20/05/2020 17:55

My coffee delivery arrived!!!!! We’d run out of lovely strong fresh coffee so I’d had to make do with the (rather nice) instant stuff (Kenco millicano) But fresh coffee is here. 2 kgs of the stuff. All nicely ground up and ready to go. Wahoooooooo!!!

northender · 20/05/2020 18:18

I made what looked like a massive sourdough pancake yesterday! Once I'd got over the disappointment of the appearance of it, I was actually quite pleased with the taste and texture of it.

Unescorted · 20/05/2020 19:00

Wolf that is an awful situation to be in. Are his school's pastoral support still in?

Happier good news. *Life just throw half the failure away and add more four & water..... leave it uncovered and in a dusty place.

North it is all in the folding and tensioning during the first rise and shaping before the 2nd rise. Mix the dough and put it in a big bowl. Cover it and leave it for an hour. Then without taking it out of the bowl pull one side, stretch it and fold it over the dough mass. Do the opposite sides and then the other 2. Leave it for half an hour, repeat every half hour for about 3 hours. Leave to bulk for an hour or 2... Tip it gently onto the bench and create a square (try not to let the air out) - pull the top third down and seal the seam, fold the edges in and the final third. Then place it away from you... cup it gently between your hands and pull it towards you. It should be nicely cob shaped and have a taught skin. Put it seam side up in a bowl lined with a really heavily floured tea towel. You can put it in the fridge at this stage if you want to bake it in the morning.

When you are ready to bake turn your oven up as high as it will go - put a cast iron le cruset in and heat it for a good 45 minutes. The next bit you have to be quick.... turn the boule of bread out of its bowl onto a sheet of silicon baking paper, score the top … fetch the pot out of the oven and gently lower the bread in on the paper. Lid it and sling it in the oven for 30-35 minutes. Then take the lid off, reduce the temp to 200 C and cook for a bit longer.
